I walked in Elegant at 10:40am on a Tuesday and was seen before 11am. I got an acrylic full-set with regular polish. The good: I loved that I was seen within 15 minutes of arriving. They had a HUGE selection of polish colors. The whole process took about an hour including sitting under the dryer and waiting, which is great! I think overall he did a good job and my nails don't have any obvious mistake. The not so good: I was not greeted when I came in at all. I had to find my way to the sign-in sheet and just sit. There wasn't many pleasantries--no conversation or small talk. They chatted a lot and were super friendly with the "regulars" but even when I tried to chat it wasn't well received. The worst part was that he was pretty rough with my hands and fingers. I guess he was trying to go quickly but it was even painful at times. I understand that some maneuverability is required but in all my years getting manicures I've never experienced anything like this. It was a lot of twisting my joints to get fingernails and better angles and weird wrist twisting to get to my thumbs. i have hypermobilty in my joints and even I felt discomfort. Another reviewer mentioned the roughness as well so maybe this is just something when they're in a rush. The bad didn't totally outweigh the good so I'll likely return for my fill-in unless I find something better. It's possible it was just a bad day, especially considering the other positive reviews and his clean and nice work.

They offered explained cutting or not cutting certain nails to keep them even with others, and did a great job. I was then directed to the private relaxation room for my partner and I to enjoy our beverages, hot neck pillows, and special cream puffs. Being someone new to getting massages, I felt very comfortable and like I was guided through the entire experience. My masseuse was great, and I really enjoyed the experience. Ten Tiny Canvases is the nail and art gallery where you can find Oil & Buff and the lovely Iryna!! It's such a relaxing space and Iryna is gentle and does not hurry through your experience! She listened to my wants and needs for my hands and nails and made my hands and nails beautiful!!! It's a 30 minute drive for me and I will pass 100s of other nail salons but I cannot wait to go back to Iryna because she uses a safe and natural approach to my nails and gel polish!!!
