With my most recent visit I made an appointment online a couple days before. Despite this, I waited for about 20 minutes after I arrived at the shop and the last time I had made an appointment I also had to wait. While someone said hello when I came in, no one asked me if I had an appointment. There were also no books with regular polish options at the front (only gel designs) so it wasn't until I was eventually seated at the pedicure chair that I was given a book to look at when the nail tech asked what color I wanted. My pedicure felt rushed and ended up sloppy on one toe going into the cuticle and chipped in the corner of another before I even left the salon. Because I was switched to a different person for my manicure, the person who did my pedicure was already gone when I noticed as I took out the toe spacer before I left. As for my manicure, I was getting GelX and needed to soak off my previous set. When I was sitting down for the pedicure I asked the woman if I needed to start soaking them off. She went and talked to someone else but ultimately did not begin soaking them while I was getting the pedicure done. Unfortunately this meant once the manicure started the technician spent a lot of time utilizing her drill to try to speed up the removal of the previous set. This resulted in it getting hot and hurting my nail bed and I suspect she also drilled them where they are now thin due to how sensitive my natural nails were. She also nicked my cuticles with her drill so when she asked me to continue soaking my fingers it burned and I had to tell her I couldn't. She didn't apologize, just told me to only soak the other nails that weren't burning. As she was drilling off my set she did get a lot of nail powder on herself and then was using the brush on herself to brush off nail powder before brushing it off my hands. I was really hoping to like this shop, but unfortunately just really did not have the best experience.

I have religiously booked my nails and pedicure at the same time so both are simultaneously done for the past two years (PER BONDS RECOMMENDATION). I get a call after booking the appointment online (with the appointment requests for both services together) that they are charging $5.00 now for both services to be booked together. Absolutely insane. $5.00 for two services to be booked together. $75.00 for Gel X (plus $5.00 for designs). $60.00 for a BASIC gel pedicure ($5.00 extra for French tip). $5/$10 extra for callous remover. That totals $155.00 BEFORE TIP. I cancelled both appointments and booked elsewhere. Nail salon culture is absolutely insane.

A regular gel manicure is $50, and nail art typically starts around $5 per nail, depending on the design. Chrome and cat-eye effects are an additional $25. A little tip for anyone with a similar situation: I had the ingrown nails on both of my big toes removed by a podiatrist, so my natural nails are much narrower now. My nail technicians simply use Gel-X or acrylic to widen and reshape my big toenails, and the results look so natural that you'd never know it isn't my real nail shape. I also want to give a shout-out to the front desk staff. The receptionists are always warm and welcoming when you arrive, and they'll check in throughout your appointment to see if you'd like any refreshments. They offer complimentary mocktails, coffee, water, soda, juice, and even some alcoholic beverages. Whenever I need a last-minute appointment, I just give them a quick call, and they're usually able to fit me in. The owners are also incredibly kind and generous. I've had it at this point; I'm done. I go talk to the girl at the counter. Yes, I was louder than I should have been. Yes, I was causing a scene when I shouldn't have. I'll admit to both of those. But I ask this girl when it will be our time. People have come in after us and get seated/taken care of within minutes while we sit there and wait. She tries to tell me that they are busy, and Summer and Heidi had appointments that ran long. Not my problem! I booked time to start at 11 am, this is not new, we book this appointment 8 weeks out (we have an appointment on the books 4 weeks from now, so every time we come in we book the next one 8 weeks out, so we have a rolling 4 weeks going). She tells me she's sorry and there's nothing she can do. My time is just as important as anybody else's, and I'm going to end up paying for services that get rushed because now the girls are behind due to either overbooking or people asking for services beyond what they booked. Again - not my problem. I am a paying customer, and my time is getting pushed to the side. AGAIN. At this point, some older lady - and I am trying to be nice here - starts telling me that I'm intimidating a young girl. Bitch, please; there's at least 5 feet between me and the girl, plus a counter that I was nowhere close to being to go around. Besides, who would prefer I raise my concern to, you daft cow? The girl behind the counter is just staring at me with this blank look on her face, a stupid smile on her lips, looking all apologetic but not really caring. At this point, Summer comes over and starts talking to one of the girls that is supposed to be cleaning chairs and says she needs two chairs cleaned immediately. FOR US. 15 minutes after telling us she was having that done, she has to get someone to finally do it. So I'm supposed to sit there and wait at least another 15 minutes when I've got other stuff to do today? I think not. I leave. Right then and there. I tell the girl to cancel our appointments because obviously the store doesn't care about ten-year customers. And she can go ahead and cancel all the appointments we have on the books from this point on. Older lady continues to berate me as I'm walking out, like I give two shits what she thinks of me. We will not be back. There is no apology you can give for the way we got pushed aside and told, effectively, it's our problem for not being more patient. More patient? At what point, 45 minutes after we arrive and 30 minutes after the start time of our appointments, would you prefer we say something? We were there when Lynn and Vanessa were still there. Oh how we missed those two lovely young ladies. The people you have working the counter, coupled with the lazy cleaners and the techs that cannot stay on time, are why we are not coming back. Ten years of loyalty, and the people you have working don't care.
