Not too impressed with the prices. Went in for a manicure and wanted gel nail polish with a design and my 5 year old got a gel design also. It cost us 118.00. That's insanity. $$118.00 for gel nails and hardly any kind of manicure? I thought with manicures they dip your hands in warm soapy water and massage for awhile? Nothing like that. That's way too much money. I don't know what they charged or how they came to that amount but never ever ever again. Never again. read more

This place is cool. Pricey but the girls working there know what they are doing and take pride in their work. So it works out . I just miss the days a regular mani was $8/$12 lol. Now it's like you are being punished for wanting a regular mani with regular polish bc gel is so popular. $20 for a simple mani is steep but I get it . I was satisfied with both my mani and pedi done by Elvia. I'll go back if necessary. The place was also clean and plenty of color options for your choice of polish application. read more

I have been a customer for more than 10 years. I got my nails done for my daughter's wedding and came back 3 weeks later, as I was told and was treated horribly by Mia, my nails were in disrepair although the full set was done by her salon and she said they could not be filled without causing an infection...what? I told them to take everything off, she charged me for the gel manicure as well as the removal of her salons horrible full set. If she would treat a decade long customer who came to her salon for her daughter's wedding this way, can't imagine how a new customer would be treated. The staff is amazing!! Sad that her amazing technicians have to suffer because of her poor management. read more

I will never be coming back here. $95 for botched looking gel set nails. The manager herself is absolutely rude and they rush people through their appointments. I ended up not even completing my $36 pedicure after I got my gels done because I was already there for 2 hours. I was going to be late for reservations I had made too. I made an appointment early on in the day for 2pm on my birthday. She then called me twice to "make sure I was coming for my appointment" When I arrived she brought me over to pick my color then got in my face about how much it was going to cost me. All my nails looking like they were looking different directions. They even forgot that I had made an appointment to get my pedicure as well. Just over all not a good experience. Awful experience today. I have been going here the last couple months, getting a pedicure and powder dip. The pedicures have been fine. The powder dip was just okay, took forever, and did not seem to be the techinicians favorite choice or skill to perform. Actally had one forget to put the base layer on firstl And, then had one say "this is a alot of work" So I decided to try gel today; horrible exprerience! They ground down my nails, a painful expereince, and they are now paper thin even with the gel on them. And, then charged me an extra $10 to remove the powder gel that they applied (and they already charge an extra $10 for a powder dip versus a gel manicure)! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went here to get my eyebrows waxed before my wedding and the woman dropped waxed in the middle of my eyebrow and then used tweezers to rip the dry wax out and in turn removed most of my eyebrow. She also jammed the very pointy tweezers into my brows multiple other times. I have never had such a painful experience with tweezers. When she gave me the mirror to look, I started the freak out. When we got to the front desk, I asked to not pay since it looked so bad. I was crying and explaining how my wedding was in 2 days and my eyebrows were just about missing - I even asked to speak to the manager. They insisted that I still pay the $16. I never even got an apology. I then had to spend $40+ on products to try to draw them back on to feel more confident. I had a hard time even looking in the mirror for a while after. I am not pleased, I tried this place because I am in Torrington and shopping around for a new place and it's not going to be this place that's for sure. I get there and the person I had never spoke to me at all okay... I was getting a fill redone and she didn't ask me about the shape I wanted she did her own thing and she is lucky I liked the square round, but she did hurt me a couple times like ripped my skin when cutting the cuticles and I never had an issue what's so ever with the uv but whatever she did was burning me for a couple of seconds. Then I didn't know they give you massages while your waiting for your nails to dry and they least could tell you or ask you if you would like one. I have PTSD and Anxiety I don't like strangers touching me without my consent it was uncomfortable for me. It was just all around not good for me, I wish she would at least communicate with me then I would of been comfortable. read more

So, I did not read the reviews before going, and that was a mistake. It is the middle of the night and I woke up to my toe THROBBING after having a pedicure here earlier. The lady was extremely rough with her tools, jamming my cuticle back, and then literally PULLED my gel polish off my toes. I should have just stopped at that point, but I was with my in laws, and I didn't want to cause a scene. I had made the comment that my toe nails were really long and I like them short. Well, today, short is a whole new level. My nails were cut below the nail bed, to the point where she cut my toe with the clippers. For someone who rushed through all of the technical aspects of a pedicure, the massage was never ending. Which, it wasn't bad, but definitely confusing. One leg had a scrub, one leg didn't. One leg got a mask, the other had oil. There definitely wasn't any of the reflexology that was in the description. Oh! Best part, there was a whole confusion as to getting gel done on my toes. I am from the South and just visiting here, and gel on toes is the standard where I am from, maybe because we wear flip flops year round. So after she has already applied the last coat of gel, she informs me it is a $17 add on. WTH! Finally, we are out of there, we are all sharing our experiences, none were great. My daughter, who is 11 and has had several manicures before, starts crying. Her lady was rude and would not speak. My daughter did not like the color, she has spoken up at other salons, but the lady was rough and she was rushing, so my daughter felt like it was not worth upsetting the technician. She only used one coat of gel color and you could see through it. My MIL has to ask for a second coat of color for her gel. Just avoid this place so you don't wake up in the middle of the night to a throbbing, bleeding toe like me. read more

I've been going to the nail spa 2 for over 5 years and have become quite the regular. I always get a pedicure and on occasion a manicure but the pedi is where it's at. The girls are great and have actually put me to sleep a number of times. Many of them have been working there as long as I have been going there, which speaks volumes on the owner of the business. The owner, Mia also makes me feel like a client and not a customer. It's really important to me that the nail spa is hygienic and the nail spa 2 does not disappoint. They have disposable pedicure kits and are taken out of sealed bags in front of you. I cannot express how much I love this place and appreciate how I am treated by the owner and staff. read more
