Tech gave me the sample colors for selection. But she proceeded to rush me as I was looking through the selections with both hands. She finally asked if I would just use one hand to look thru selections so she could start on other hand. No one else was waiting and I only saw one other client being serviced in the whole place. Couldn't understand the rush. She proceeded to cut my already very short nails with clippers beginning with my left pinky finger nail. She cut me and smiled the entire time she was apologizing. She then begin to insult my intelligence by saying she only cut me bc my skin was attached to the nail. Which is not true! She cut too short and cut me. The management did come over and she then proceeded to tell her the same. She only cut me bc my skin was growing under my nail and that's NOT True. She cut me, I bled, they offered ointment and first aid, I felt insulted and I left. Moral of the story: It's not what happens to you but how you handle or react to it. read more

I've been going here for over 3 years but will not come back again. The last time I went, the woman who did my pedicure was rushing and cut the inside of my big toe. I didn't feel it until minutes later and when I told her she cut my skin, she didn't believe me and told me that it couldn't be her fault because I didn't say anything until minutes later. When I showed her that it was bleeding, she kept on denying that it was her fault. She didn't apologize and even insisted that it couldn't have been anything she did. She even became annoyed and mad at me. It was a very unpleasant experience. The sad thing was that it happened once before and I decided to give it another chance. This time, I've learned my lesson and definitely won't be coming back and will tell other people not to do so either. read more

I called ahead to make an appointment around 11 for noon, I appreciated that I was called back if could come in a little later because all other appointments had already confirmed. I am very sensitive to pain, therefore it is difficult to find a good person that can work on my nails with no pain. As so with Kathy who does my pedicure with no pain. Tommy did an absolutely amazing job on my full set checking with me after every step that I was happy. I was especially pleased with the shape and that the acrylics weren't too "thick" and fake looking. Reason for 4/5 stars is I wasn't offered any drink or water as other clients were, they only accept cash tips (I try to do this regardless but occasionally would like to tip on my card), and my total came out to $75 which I think is pretty steep even given the simple designs (I would have expected $60-65 max). I've been deciding on whether I've been wanting to write a review about this location, but after finding a new nail salon, it makes me want to write a review about them! I used to come to this location and I would book with Helen. the first few times Helen and the women would talk about my feet about how crusty it was and how exhausted they would be every time I came in, but I just ignored it because I knew my feet were bad. I am half Mexican and Vietnamese. I look more on the Hispanic side, so the women never knew that I was Vietnamese. the last time I came in I had an incident where the moment I came in I heard them already talking about Mexicans. I minded my business because they weren't talking about me. then as soon as it's time for me to sit on my chair, I noticed that their "Manager" decides to walk up to my chair look at my feet and talk about me" as she's talking about me. She's smiling straight in my face asking me " HOW IM DOING" than another Nail tech screams from afar "you have to scrub harder when their MEXICAN. The MANAGER never corrected them. They all just laughed. I was so embarrassed and wanted to cry from being so angry. I noticed they were talking crap in Vietnamese because there were no Vietnamese clients in there. As a manager, it is her job to correct the women. NOT go around and talk about peoples feet. There needs to be professionalism. My daughter was actually with me so I knew I had to control my anger. As soon as I was calm, I decided to approach " Stehpahnie" I believe that's what she told me her name was. She was an Asian Vietnamese woman with a bob haircut.. when I had confronted her, she had denied everything she said. She didn't take any accountability. she kept on insisting that she wasn't talking about me and then I had to ask her did she think what she said was " OK" she answered " NO". She tried to gaslight me by telling me that that was not what she meant but I speak 100% fluent Vietnamese. I know and understand what she said Word for Word. Mind you this location is a very nice BOUJIE spa. I really loved going to Helen so I would put up with it. for the prices that they charge in the spa they should be ashamed of themselves because how unprofessional they are. So just a warning if you are Mexican do not come here. It was also very sad to me that majority of their clients were Mexicans. I am happy to say now. I am OK with going to a hole in the wall spa because they don't talk shit on me there, and I feel safe when walking in. If I can give this place a zero star I would. read more

I had to reschedule last minute and the only way is to call but they were quick to answer the phone and accommodated my time change same day no questions asked. When I arrived there on what looked to be a very busy Friday evening, the wait was really short. I booked the boss pedicure which compared to NYC prices was almost half the price of what Im used to paying. The decor and ambience was also nice, very spacious. You don't feel right next to the other pedicure chairs around you. Win win. Place seemed clean, good selection of nail colors. The service was really good, nice ladies. The only wierd thing I couldn't understand was from reviews people mentioned free champagne. I did see a bar there and saw some ladies sipping on drinks in glasses but when I asked my lady how do I get a drink and what are the options she said only water. We were so happy that we were able to get our pedicures done without an appointment. Walks in welcome. They have different pedicure options. I got the treatment gel pedicure for $52. The place is very clean and professional. There's so many colors to choose from. They accept card and cash. Tips is cash or zelle. They offer you water or champagne. I'm so glad I chose to try somewhere new yesterday because I found this salon and it was a really nice experience. The techs were all very nice and friendly. They tested out a couple of different colors to find the right one I was looking for and they had what so many other salons couldn't do for me (just a milky natural). They weren't rough at all. We made reservations for same day and we're not disappointed. Very welcoming when we arrived and the two nail technicians we had sat us down in amazing massage chairs. They were accommodating to our needs and were clear in what we wanted and made sure we were good along the way for our first time visit. I felt like a kid did my manicure. They're supposed to be a " luxury" nail bar but their techs definitely don't do a good job. 1. I walked in there and there were a lot of people around men not wearing a mask so I figured it was wasn't mandated... after the tech asked me what I did for work, she found out I work in the health care industry. Not knowing I work in admin... once she heard I work in the health care field she immediately asked me to wear my mask ... EVEN THOUGH I was surrounded with people not wearing masks! 2. I really liked this place when I first started coming here and I usually don't limit myself to a single artist because it makes scheduling difficult. However, there is one specific nail tech that has really deterred me from coming back. She did my third "flowers" set and at first tried to tell me that they did not have a nude color for the background without ever leaving to look, I had told her that the color that was being used on my toes would work and she agreed. Then, she said she was going to leave out some of the details (vines connecting the flowers) from the reference photo which I had shown. If this was because she couldn't do it, then I could understand but she should have told me before starting that's design, not halfway through. Some of the flowers were sloppy on my other hand and she did not redo them. I paid and tipped anyways, hoping it was just one bad day. I came back again with my friend, and my friend got the nail tech I had last time. Again, she had shown her the design and began her nails. Towards the end, she tells my friend that she is not going to do the design on her nails and to come back the next day (Saturday- a very busy day). This seemed super unprofessional and again, she should have told her beforehand if she was not planning on doing it or had to go home early because this place is not very cheap even without the cost of a design. I was truly shocked and annoyed at this nail techs inconsideration and unprofessionalism. I liked this nail shop a lot and it was close to where I live but the parking is very difficult and the booking feature on their site does not allow you to choose a specific artist so I will refrain from coming back because I do not want to get that nail tech again. read more

Hannah did my gel manicure and she was wonderful! She was very careful and took her time. The color of my polish is gorgeous and shape of my nails are perfect! I've been here about 3 times now since they've open and service is always wonderful. I go on the weekdays to avoid waiting and I'm usually done within 1.5-2hrs depending on the nail design I want. The salon itself is big, open and beautiful with chic, luxurious furniture to lounge on while you wait. All of their staff is friendly and have done a great job with my nails everytime I've been here. I like to do gel nails with design since my nails are brittle and break easily. I've found the gel coating helps keep my nails from breaking and it lasts longer (around a month). Wanted to love this place bc it's so modern and nice-looking but I don't think I'll come here again. Had my second visit here ever and wanted to do Gel X. I went to another salon and got Gel X done there but couldn't get an appointment and decided to give this place another try. Firstly, there is no option for Gel X on their website when booking so if you're wondering about the price...it costs $60. I think that's pretty standard. This rating is not at all about the price unless you'd like to couple this price and poor product/service. Hear me out. I hate writing bad reviews, but when you're paying a lot of money for a service, one would expect the best. I don't know my technician's name nor will I describe her (and I didn't want to know) because I don't want to get her in trouble. Fyi They don't use Apres Gel X tips. I didn't recognize the brand. Instead of using an actual uv lamp, she used a uv flashlight. I'm not sure how effective this was, but it was not reassuring lol. I didn't question it bc I'd never seen that before but thought that was abnormal. She also kept reapplying the gel builder before putting on the extension bc it wouldn't cure lol probably bc of the uv flashlight tbh. Anywho. After she filed the nail extensions, I noticed my thumb nail was crooked so I told her, and she said she didn't like it either and would re-do it...but not without repercussion lol. Not verbatim, but she basically told me to pay attention so I can tell her when something is wrong before it's too late. How could I have known there was no way to know until that moment given the angle she was working with (I was getting a pedi too so I understand she and i were awkwardly positioned.. However I was not upset w her having to redo it.) I think she was more annoyed with it having to redo the thumb nail extension than anything. I had the time but it was also the end of the day and I'm sure she just wanted to go home. Tl;dr Anyways, see pics below. Very simple to make an appointment online. Went right when they opened on a Friday and service was great! Everyone was super friendly and the staff all worked well together. The nail techs were super friendly and totally ok with the design I chose (check their insta for more inspo, you might be able to book the mail tech for that design as well). Definitely bring cash for tips, but a great place to go if you want to get your nails done. Depending on the tech you do get, you have to keep in mind that the more intricate designs might not be 100% perfect but they do their best and are super understanding if you want to change anything. read more

I came in on Saturday the 29th for a gel mani and pedi. Finally had time to write this review. Let me start out by saying I really wanted to love this place. Really loved the decor and modernization of the place. It's also important to note that I speak Vietnamese fluently, as I am full blooded Vietnamese, even though I don't look like it. Lenya did my gel mani and while it looks "nice" from afar the paint job was spotty up close. There are bubbles, missing spots and areas where she applied too much paint it distorted the nail shape. Julie or Jenny did my pedicure and my toe nails were misshaped and jagged. I thought I paid you to trim and shape them? But I guess you can't focus on your job when you're on the phone talking to someone and kept calling people to talk to while doing the service right? Anh or Ann was extremely rude. She had to fix my index finger because my natural nail had broken/chipped off at the corner and she kept saying it was an inconvenience in Vietnamese. My broken nail was missing a substantial piece of it and she kept saying that fixing it was an inconvenience and that it would grow out again in a few weeks. So she expected me to be fine with just putting gel over my broke nail. Yes ladies, I understood all your conversations and rude comments. To the lady in the front who I assume is the owner and or manager , how do you expect to keep business when you act indifferent when a client tells you of their experience? So that being said, guess what they say is correct, you can dress up a place or someone one but you can't take the classless out of them. A new luxury nail lounge that just opened at Rodeo 39. They provide a luxury experience for beauty treatments like manicure, pedicure, facials, and eyelash extension. They take walk-in but I made an appointment online. I like how all the services with their prices are listed on their website. I booked for a gel manicure ($32). TNB is the biggest, fanciest, and most aesthetic nail lounge I've ever been to. Their interior is absolutely gorgeous! I love the marble and gold accent. It was giving me YSL vibes. The front desk checked me in and I was offered some champagne while waiting in the lounge. Ken was my nail technician and he was amazing! Gel nails removal is free with service. He added 2 nail tips with no extra charge. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he created it so nicely. I got the white swirl design ($15) on my natural nails. Ken filed my almond shape nails very evenly. He took his time and was detailed with the design. Definitely book Ken for manicures! Overall, The Nail Boss provides top-notch treatment and have skilled technicians. Prices are reasonable for a luxury nail lounge. I have nothing but good things to say about this nail salon.
