FYI 1: You can only stay here if you are from out of town. NM residents are not allowed. They…read morerequire you to show out-of-state ID upon check-in. FYI 2: There's a $10 key deposit upon check-in (cash only). This place is pretty great. ROOM OPTIONS: According to their website, you can only make a reservation via snail mail. However, you can book via Airbnb which is what we did. Find "Santa Fe International Hostel" and you can see all their listings there. There's the shared dorm option at the lowest price. Then, there are private rooms. There's a private studio with a full bath and a kitchenette (that's what we got), a private room with a full bath, and a private room with a half bath (community showers near the office). The prices vary based on your room choices as well as season, it seems. We paid $45/night for the full bath and kitchenette option and that was the most expensive unit at the time. A week later, it jumped to $60/night. No matter which room you choose, you still need to make/break down your bed (they give you sheets and towels upon check-in) and clean upon check-out. STUDIO: We stayed in the studio so I'll elaborate on that. It was quite nice for the price. Spacious and included a kitchenette (stocked with cups, plates, utensils). FYI, you can't eat in the other rooms but our room had a kitchenette, microwave, and fridge so eating was allowed. Pretty clean and pleasant. No problem with the bathroom - water pressure was good. KITCHEN: Everyone has kitchen access but the lower priced rooms (definitely the shared dorms but not sure about the other private rooms) have to do a daily chore to use the kitchen. We had access w/o chores since we paid more for our room. Anyway, this was the best part. Whole Foods donates food (expiring or slightly expired). There's a large fridge as well as bins with fruit and vegetables. The fridge was generously stocked with eggs, cheese, meats, salad, guacamole, ready-to-go meals, etc. They even had vegan items available. There were bread products, pastries, pasta, cereal, condiments, herbs/spices, coffee/tea, and much more. I seriously ate better here than I do at home (I can't afford to shop at Whole Foods, haha). The kitchen also had pots and pans and basically anything you needed to cook a full meal. Obviously, you are expected to do the dishes and clean up after yourself. CHECK-IN: Simple. According to Airbnb, "volunteer staff is available 7AM - 11PM and resides on property." This is great if you are getting in a bit later. The staff member explained everything to us, gave us a tour, and walked us to our room. PARKING: There's a parking lot (not big but not tiny either). We stayed here in March (Friday - Monday) and never had an issue finding parking. WIFI: $2 per day if you wish to purchase it (regardless of which room you're staying in).

Each of the hotels in Hilton's Curio Collection offers guests a unique boutique hotel experience, and the Hotel Andaluz Albuquerque is no exception. The hotel, which originally opened in 1939 as Conrad Hilton's fourth hotel, is a stunningly restored 10-story property that served as New Mexico's first high-rise building as well as the state's very first building equipped with commercial air conditioning and elevators. Beyond its incredible historic character and design, it is conveniently located near the Albuquerque Convention Center and features very spacious and well-maintained rooms. Our room featured a large LED TV with plenty of content, a functional workspace with easy-to-connect Wi-Fi, and individual HVAC controls that made it easy to manage the temperature during the night. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator as well as a single-serve coffee maker with four pods. The bathroom had dual sinks and plenty of space for our toiletries and personal items. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the incredible service from everyone we encountered. I had been tweaking our New Mexico itinerary right up until the trip and completely overlooked adjusting our hotel dates on Hilton.com. When we arrived to check in at the Hotel Andaluz, the front desk associate informed me that I was a full 24 hours early for our stay! Oops. Thankfully, the front desk team didn't miss a beat--they stepped in and solved the issue effortlessly and without a hint of drama. It's also worth noting that downtown Albuquerque takes on a notably quiet and isolated atmosphere after dark, and walking even a few blocks to the restaurants and bars on Historic Route 66 wasn't recommended. The valet team came through not only with great service, but also with excellent local dining recommendations that made heading out for dinner seamless and enjoyable. PRO TIP: While there is no on-site self-parking available, the hotel offers in/out valet parking for $26.98/night plus optional gratuities.

I asked for a board but there were no staff who could assist. I was told it was too late for that (7:12pm?). There's a restaurant in the hotel...I tried a burger which was delicious. The room had a frig--yay! You can also make coffee in the room. Check in and out were a breeze.

The outside is painted nice, great parking lot, cute little motel office and gift shop. We were able to stay here for under $80 a night during the summer! What?! I will take this over a fancy hotel any day! You aren't a far drive from Santa Fe's historic downtown area either. Each room is decorated differently and uniquely! Even down to the quilts and bedding. I love that each room is different! Definitely a unique style. They king bed rooms offer a fridge and microwave. The rooms are clean, inviting, and cozy. They have a continental breakfast, which they then open a back room and a patio to sit at and enjoy your breakfast. Plenty of things to choose from, from fresh fruit, bagels, toast, boiled eggs, cereal, juice and coffee. The front desk staff was so welcoming and friendly and gave great suggestions for near by restaurants and attractions. If you're along the back, open your bathroom window for a surprise set up of vintage vehicles! And go shopping in the camper during breakfast on the back patio!!

If you want to be stolen from and harassed in the middle of your wedding this is the place to be!…read moreExtremely disrespectful how the bar manager handled some things. In the middle of our wedding, he told my coordinator that if we did not move our Photo Booth that he was going to have to get his Volkswagen van out of the venue which to do so that would involve us having to move tables, chairs, decorations and my guests out of his way. He was being very rude about it because we set up our Photo Booth in front of his van and then he said we owed him $100 to use his van as a prop, because we told him there no way we could move his van without disturbing my entire wedding. We were never once told this and if this was an issue, he should've moved the van out of the venue prior to our wedding being set up and STARTED! It was very rude. And then well in the middle of my wedding, my guess were being told they needed to move their cars. My aunt and uncle are very disabled and they were told they had to go park down the road at big five because they were parked in someone's parking spot, but it clearly was a disabled parking. Right before me and my husbands first dance I was told that I needed to move my vehicle, apparently it was parked in "the owners spot" I have been parked there since the night before and hadn't been told anything. There was NO SIGN that said owners parking.. and to wait till literally the MIDDLE OF MY WEDDING to ask me to move it is crazy. All of this could have been told to me prior to the wedding, it didn't even start till 3pm in the afternoon. At any point prior, I could've been told to move my vehicle, but I am a guest at the hotel so I don't know what the problem is. And Tob could've moved his van anytime he wished, but he waited. The next morning @8am my husband and family woke up to clean venue and pack up decor. We then realized $400 of my decor was stolen. This has left me distraught. I have repeatedly ask to see there cameras, and no one will respond to me. I let them know that if my property could not be recovered will have to file a police report with Santa Fe police for my property being stolen. In response they were extremely passive aggressive and said I was "bold" for accusing them of taking my property and that they would be "thrilled" to help me find it if it was in there property. I'm attached photos of my stuff stolen. When we arrived then morning all the pampas grass was taken from my arches and vases with pampas in it. I sent hours putting this together and about $400 on this decor and for this to be take on a day that is supposed to be so special is just disgusting and unprofessional. Not to mention they catered the food it was gross and the beds are hard as a rock. I'm also not saying the venue itself stole my decor but the staff themselves.. just seeing how Todd the bar manager behaved shows me the establishment does not mind disrespecting people. The place is gorgeous, but not worth this headache. The pictures are of the property I haven't been able to recover. (ALL OF MY PAMPAS GRASS) and emails.

Louie was easy to work with and glad that you came in town to visit. The setup Luxx has for parking is worth it. Tricky at first: you have to enter through the exit lane and then go out the pedestrian gate at the left. You'll see. Beds are comfortable. We loved the lavender infused essential oil soaps. Inside your room the decor reflects the brown and tan colors of the desert. The all-natural animal print was almost a bit too African (ever see a zebra in the New Mexican desert?) But hey, it works. The back patio is a great option for a gas fire and hot tub. The main common room has fantastic sky lighting and relaxing music. But you need to stay here for the location. We walked everywhere. Museums, shops, churches, restaurants, and the plaza are all a stone's throw away.

As other reviews have mentioned, the place is keyless. Normally, I love that, but when I stayed at…read morethe Luxx, someone tried to enter my room late at night. I was staying in this room alone, so I was a bit freaked out. When he (obviously) failed to enter my room, he went around the back and tried to enter through the window!!! My room was on the first floor, facing the backyard sitting area (where there are seats, fountains, a tub). The guest was probably drunk and forgot which room was his, but it was still scary to have him try to enter my room twice. I don't necessarily blame Luxx for this issue, but when I raised this at check-out the next day, the man at the counter laughed and said something along the lines that he'd have better luck next time. Wtf -- Even if we weren't in this period of #metoo and #imwithher, I never want the hotel employee to joke about my room being broken into. Another thing is that I booked the Luxx through Booking.com and was sent a reservation confirmation with the final price. When I checked my credit card, there was a discrepancy. It wasn't much, but still odd that they charged me more than they said they would. I tried calling, I left a couple of voicemails -- no response. Bottom-line: Find somewhere else to stay.
