Have visited a few Nepali Hakka restaurants in GTA we were looking forward to enjoy similar tastes and services in 613 as well. For lunch we were four of us and ordered three dishes. It was not busy at all just one more table perhaps. When ordered food, first the vegan noodles came after about 10-15 minutes. About 10-15 minutes later the vegan momos came. Two from our party had to leave as it was work time. We stayed back for a while and had to request to get the Tofu rice to go. The vegan Noodles and Vegan Tofu rice quantity was shockingly less. More like a small side dish. There is no way that an adult can consume just one - even two for me would not be enough. The taste - the noodles, the tofu rice were very mild and not properly seasoned as well. The momos were good, but the three sauces very disappointing. Normally a sauce would enhance the momos, but these actually were making the momos less tastier. Never going back. read more

Lunch time was great. The service was rapid and the food amazing. The sauce on the chicken appetizer was sooo tasteful with the perfect amount of spices. Dumplings were either steamed, pan fried or deep fried. Very tasteful!! It was quiet at lunch time ( only 3 tables taken) so very nice ambiance. read more

I remember the Momo Spot when they were only a pop up business and would occasionally pop up at Good Eats (when Good Eats was still on Albert St before they moved to Bell St North). I had wanted to try their Momos but was never able to make it out to their pop ups. Then they started selling at the Farmers' Market at Lansdowne Park and I finally got to try their momos. I tried the chicken ones and they were good. They were $10 for 8 back then. That was around 2018. (They are $12 for 6 now in 2022). I was really happy for them when I discovered that towards the end of 2021 they opened up a brick and mortar restaurant on Holland Ave, where The Foolish Chicken used to be (The Foolish Chicken has since moved to Preston St). Although it took me until June of 2022 to finally visit their restaurant. My husband and I were in the area and we wanted a little snack as we walked home. I had originally planned on getting momos but when I looked at their menu and saw Chili Chicken ($9.99), I opted for that instead. It's listed as an appetizer, so it's fairly small, but what it lacked in size and quantity, it made up for in flavour. The chicken pieces are really tiny, but the spices they used packed a punch. It had a nice fiery kick. I liked how it had 2 slices of cucumber to cut the heat. It also had some bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots and onions. The Momo Spot is a Nepalese restaurant. It was my first time having Nepalese Chili Chicken. I found it similar to both the dry Chili Chicken served at Indian-Chinese fusion restaurants (not the one with gravy) and to the Indian Chicken 65 dish. I love both these dishes so it's no surprise that I loved the Momo Spot's Chili Chicken. Service was courteous and efficient. I liked that the takeout container was cardboard and not styrofoam. Street parking only. I would love to return to try their Thukpa (Tibetan Noodle Soup) sometime. It wasn't available during my visit (and not exactly something you can eat while walking like the chili chicken or momo, lol, so I wouldn't have gotten it at my visit even if it was available). I am beyond thrilled to see more diverse eats in my 'hood! read more

First time trying the momo spot and I'll definitely be back to try more! They serve Nepalese/himalayan momos/other dishes. Very similar to other types of dumplings but a different flavour profile that I have never tried before. They were great! We got a spicy stir fry dish and then classic vegan. They come with soy sauce and a few other dipping sauces both of which had some heat! All the staff were super friendly and overall we had a lovely time. read more

This Nepalese eatery is all about dumplings, but they are not your normal Chinese takeaways. At $2 per dumpling, again, they aren't cheap, but the spicing was neatly done and the dips were good. I ordered 2 plates, and a coke, and it came to $50 with tax & tips. Verdict: Good for the occasional treat. read more

Absolutely delicious! We tried an the steamed and pan fried vegetable and pork momos. The service was super nice and the food came very fast. We dipped them in the chilli cilantro sauce and that was delicious as well, everything was very fresh. I wish I lived in Ottawa - I would be coming here all the time! read more

Surprised that I am first to review this spot. I was in the mood for some dumplings and Nepalese cuisine definitely sounded attractive. The place was almost empty at noon on a Wednesday with the exception of one more table. Unfortunately due to probably not being overly busy they were out of some of the items on the menu(specifically noodles). On that note the menu is a bit short on options. There are a few appetizers and the rest is fried or steamed dumplings. That's my only issue with the restaurant. Otherwise staff was very polite and attentive and dumplings were big and tasty. I preferred the fried ones over the steamed and the chicken over pork. We tried a dumpling kind of a soup(which was more like curry) and i loved it. Overall, if you are in the mood for dumplings, go for it. Sadly, there's not much else if you're with a picky crowd that demands many options. read more
