As of late, when I am travelling, I tend to crave dumplings. It has been the case so far this year. I have had Dumpling? Dumpling! flagged for a while. I drove over there after a day of shopping and movie-watching. This eatery is located in a plaza in a quiet neighbourhood. I got the closest parking spot to the restaurant and walked in. The folks in the kitchen were busy folding and making dumplings. A woman greeted me and I got a table next to a window. I was the only person dining in. I noticed that the chopstick caddy on my table had a single chopstick. I could stab all my dumplings with a lone one, but I decided to get another one from the table next to mine. I ordered the beef and corn dumplings and got them pan-fried. I also ordered the pork and Chinese mushroom dumplings, but changed things up and got them steamed. While I waited fo my food to arrive, I got a glass of water. It was exciting to get all these dumplings. The steamed ones were steaming up my face. I felt like I was getting a facial for free. Each bamboo steamer housed fifteen dumplings. Can I eat thirty all by myself? Does the Earth rotate on its axis? I started with the beef and corn dumplings. I rarely see whole corn kernels in a dumpling. I love corn. No, really. I LOVE corn. These dumplings were delicious. I loved the flavour of the filling. I dipped them in soy sauce and it had a whole new yummy dimension. Just when you think that things couldn't get any better, they did. I had a pork and Chinese mushroom dumpling and it was even better! The steamed version tasted better to me. The dough was perfect. I also LOVE mushrooms and the flavour was out-of-this-world delicious. I polished off everything. I loved it all. I wanted to get some bubble tea to go. I ordered a pineapple iced tea with coconut jelly. I sipped it as I drove home in a thunderstorm (it was the only rainy day during my entire stay in Ottawa and the rain started to pour when I left with my tea). The tea was refreshing with a ton of pineapple flavour. The coconut jelly was perfect. I got my bill and paid for it at the counter. A lot of folks were ordering ahead of time and dropped by to pick up their orders. I paid using a credit card and all was good. If you want delicious dumplings in a different part of town and have some great bubble tea, come here. I highly recommend everything here. (288)
My family and I recently got takeout from this place. We ordered a mixture of steamed and pan fried pork and chive dumplings, pork and shrimp, and chicken dumplings. There were 15 dumplings per order. I thought the dumplings were just average and the juices didn't squirt out of the dumpling. Didn't really "wow" me. Might be they would be better when eaten at the restaurant. The small dumpling sauce containers for the dumplings were cute though.
Upgrading from 4 stars to 5 stars. I returned to Dumpling Dumpling and this time tried the steamed shrimp, egg, and chives dumplings ($12.99), a vegetable spring roll ($1.29) and an original milk tea with tapioca pearls ($4.99). Everything was fantastic. The dumplings had big pieces of shrimp in them, and the wrapper was just the right amount of chewy. The spring roll was hot and crispy. The filling was a little mushier than I'm used too, but it was still tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that the bubble tea was good. I'm usually disappointed by bubble teas at restaurants, but I was not disappointed here. The tea had a strong tea flavour. Service was courteous. The wait for food is a little long, but the dumplings are made to order (you can see the staff folding the dumplings), so I don't mind. I guess if you are on a tight schedule or are pressed for time, it might be an issue. So I recommend going when you can have a leisurely meal. See my original review for more details :)
This place makes the best handmade Chinese dumplings in Ottawa. They are literally freshly made to order, steamed and pan fried if you choose that option (which I recommend). The order comes with black vinegar and chili sauce.
Dumpling? Dumpling! was an unexpected delight. My friend and I were looking for an impromptu girls night dinner treat, and both happened upon this gem and decided we had to give it a go. Being the Yelpers that we are, we are always looking for something different or new to check out. Let's start with location: I personally love the fact that this is a bit of a hidden gem. Tucked away from busy streets in a nice little suburban area kept the crowd away and parking easy. Maybe not the most accessible for public transit users, but the driver in me has no complaints. Vibe: The atmosphere was pretty cool, it's not a huge place, but it doesn't have to be. Lots of seating options, but two of us had to sit at a table for four, because 1- we apparently ordered a LOT of dumplings, and 2- dumpling dishes take up a lot of space. Just something to keep in mind- maybe not ideal for large groups. We split four orders of dumplings between us, and the total cost came out to just under $30 each after we split it, added tax and tip, etc. For a filling dinner, to me- this was reasonable. The dumplings were good and there were so many choices. I'm a bit of a dumpling noob, so I didn't know what to pick, but we ended up choosing their specialty pork & fennel (with dill)- deep fried, pork & pickled cabbage- pan fried, chicken and chinese mushroom- pan fried, and egg and chives- steamed. So much flavour, so much food, we each had plenty of leftovers to take home to stuff us for yet another meal. My one and only complaint really, is that it was a bit slow to get the bill / not really clear if we were supposed to wait for it or go up to pay, and it was a bit slow to get refills on water. That being said, our food came quickly and it was all made fresh and given that it is a small spot there was not an abundance of staff- totally logical to me, but I go through water like a fish, so I thought it was worth mentioning. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for some good dumplings away from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. I can't wait to try the bubble tea next time, too!
An absolutely fantastic experience! Really warm, welcoming environment with great song choices. Very clean space. Located in a secluded strip mall with free parking. My boyfriend and I were the only people there at the time. The space looked like it could accommodate groups, but it's small; I wouldn't recommend more than 6 people if the owners are busy. We both got the lunch combo special for ~$17 each, which included 10pc dumplings, a soup (hot&sour or chicken&corn), a salad, and a spring roll. The soup came out first. We only had to wait less than 10 minutes to get our dumplings on these cute plates pictured below. Everything was very good and great value for the portions. I got the pork and Chinese cabbage dumplings panfried and my boyfriend got beef and onion dumplings steamed. I think next time, I will get it steamed because the panfried option costed $1 more, but wasn't as crunchy as I expected it to be. I know only the bottom is supposed to be fried, but I felt like it was basically steamed with a little bit of browning on the bottom. Still, it was very good. WARNING: PLS EXPECT A BIT OF JUICE TO COME OUT OF YOUR DUMPLING. Which was a sign of a really good filling, but a little messy when not expected. Waitress was super nice and checked up on us every once in a while. They had a glass wall where you could watch one of the ladies hand make the dumplings. She was very sweet and smiled back when I caught her attention. Overall, a wonderful lunch and would definitely come back again!
I ordered wonton soup as well as pork and dill and pork and pickled cabbage dumplings. The pork and dill were absolutely incredible - best I've ever had. Perfect wrapper and super plump filling. Loved it! My only complaint is that they send fake soy sauce instead of the good stuff! I hate the taste of cheap soy sauce. I made my own dipping sauce at home for them with the black vinegar they sent me and Kikkoman.
Everything tasted amazing. The only complaint would be that the wait for the food was a little bit long despite it not being that busy when we were there. Ordering for takeout/delivery was great too.
I wanted to go to a dumpling restaurant outside of the city center. I ordered a plate of boiled pork and chives dumplings and a plate of the pan fried curry beef. The service was good. The food was tasty. There's a lot of parking. I will return read more

I had eaten in here a couple of times before the pandemic, but this was the first time I got delivery. We got two orders of Two Kinds of Dumplings, which is a full order of 15 dumplings, but two different flavours. You'll obviously get one more dumpling in one flavour than the other. My husband got the General Tso's chicken dumplings and pork and Chinese chive dumplings, both pan-fried. I got chicken and Chinese mushroom dumplings and pork, Chinese chives, and shrimp dumplings, also pan-fried. We also got two cans of Diet Coke. You can choose to have them boiled, steamed, deep-fried, or pan-fried. Deep-fried and pan-fried are an extra dollar. A couple of the dumplings are not available boiled, like the General Tso's and pork and kimchi dumplings. The dumplings with shrimp in them are also an extra dollar. My husband and I both thought our dumplings were just what we were craving. Not too salty and nice texture with a bit of bite in the dumpling dough, which wasn't as thick as I remember. They weren't very crispy at the bottom, likely because of the delivery time, but still great. I liked the pork, Chinese chives, and shrimp dumplings best and was pleasantly surprised by the big chunks of shrimp in them rather than a sort of ground paste like at some other places. Both dumpling orders had a few black sesame seeds sprinkled on top, so make sure you ask to remove them if you're allergic. The orders also came with small containers of black vinegar and sriracha, which was awesome. I could've easily had two containers of the vinegar alone. Very easy to eat and I'm sort of surprised I ate almost all of them in one sitting, but then again, maybe not so surprised because I'm gluttonous as hell haha We had a promo discount on DoorDash, so with taxes, service fees, and tip (free delivery), it came to just under $50 total. read more
