Parking was plentiful, and rooms were nice. The front desk staff were the most friendly of folks that I have ever encountered, and the breakfast options, which are included, were perfect to get the day started. There is a short trial behind this hotel that I really had hoped to be able to adventure into, but as I traveled in winter, daylight was limited. The only negatives of this hotel were the over hot heater and underhot shower temperatures. Perhaps folks don't have the same need as I do to scald my soul during showers, but alas, my California blood needs to boil to start my day. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed less than 24 hours but I could easily spend a few days here without an issue. Fully stocked kitchen with a conventional oven and full size fridge. Basic kitchen ware and utensils. The complimentary breakfast was full of hearty and healthy options. Fantastic job by the staff keeping everything stocked and clean. My only issue was the two bedrooms were supposed to have two queens and one bedroom only had a full. I drew the short straw and got that bed but since sleeping solo, it wasn't a huge issue. BUT- I do think you should get the room with the amenities in your reservation. Staff was helpful, checking in was a breeze and the whole property was pretty spotless. I'd book again.

I actually really enjoyed this little area, there was a great shopping center that was just across the way with lots of options. The rooms were nice and had a little couch seating area and a fridge and microwave which is always nice for a long stay like my fiancé had. I also loved the downstairs area. I went and worked down there on my laptop one of the days in a comfy couch that had its own little tv to watch something too. I'm also a big person about AC in hotel rooms and this one did live up to my normal expectations because I like a cold room. If you are staying in this area definitely a great spot to stay.

I was told you can only get it well done. Red flag went up. The burger was like a Bubba burger. It was disgusting. I left a review with the hotel only to be debated and challenged on the issues. I called the Marriott complaint line only to be laughed at and then the woman would not give me her name and hung up on me. I called back, got someone else named "carol" on the phone. As I'm explaining the issues to her, under her breath she utters " oh my god". I called her out on the comment and she didn't apologize, just told me to take it up with the hotel. I thought I was when I called the complaint line. I've stayed in hotels though out the country and many other countries. This was by far the worst stay ever. Never again!! Room 329 if no one believes me. Let me know what your socks look like after walking on the carpet.

(This is on behalf of members of the retreat planning team of Moishe Kavod House)…read more We had our annual retreat at Friendly Crossways. It was a wonderful place for our community to come together, be out of the city, and relax! Mary Helan was SOO very very helpful in for months in advance of the retreat, during the retreat and post retreat. She was wonderful to work with and extremely patient. The facility was beautiful and allowed for a variety of activities, including a huge outdoor field! Overall, it was a wonderful weekend, and we really enjoyed the space.

As others mentioned there were no other options close by in the Harvard area to stay, so we decided to stay on site (even though I tried to find alternative arrangements). We arrived on Friday and found our room, which had only twin beds (the same for almost all rooms) but were yet to receive our linens (sheets/towels/pillow cases). We did get those later and as another reviewer mentioned they were very worn. You could also not bring in your own pillows or linens (as I had brought) and the party would be fined if they saw you doing so. The bathroom/showers which I saw were pretty outdated and dingy (except the ones near the front door which appear to be newer). They weren't unclean, but were just in desperate need of some TLC. We were also informed of a strict 5 minute shower policy which there are signs posted for in the bathroom. As most have said, it is very much a DIY venue, even so far as to washing your own dishes throughout the weekend. We did help out with a lot throughout the weekend which was fun helping our friends set up their wedding and be a part of it, but many times we would need to ask Mary or Keith (the owners of the property) for assistance or direction with a given task. Most of the time they were very friendly and helpful, but not all the time. I certainly understand they have a job to do, and tasks the Bride/Groom set up for them, and that helping me wasn't on their priority list, but at least be a little bit pleasant because we are paying you to be there. I would have to agree that the food they provided was excellent, and they were able to meet the needs of many dietary issues in our group. If I was reviewing only their food it would be 5 stars, no question. They used fresh ingredients and were very passionate about what came out of the kitchen. The other issue was the firewood. We were lectured that it was to be a "camp fire" and not a "bonfire". We were only provided with about 6 tiny pieces of wood to keep the fire going for our allotted 2 hours...and NO wood was to be put on after 11pm as the fire had to be completely out by midnight... It was nice to be able to just walk back to my room after the wedding/reception. The ceremony was beautiful set back under the trees on the lawn. If you are looking for a DIY wedding where you have to do just about everything for set up and break down then this is probably your place.

Each room in the Inn is completely unique in decor and arrangement, and is named after a prominent figure in American history (we were in the "Emily Dickinson suite"), which was fun for history buffs. Each morning the communal dining area offers a fresh breakfast buffet in addition to being served by the friendly staff of the Inn, who take individual orders for hot food such as eggs, pancakes, sausage, etc. This was a great space to talk with the other residents of the inn. These five stars are secretly four and a half, as in all honesty, the older woman who was present for the majority of our stay as the concierge, while accommodating and helpful, wasn't particularly as friendly as one would expect for an intimate Inn. However this certainly didn't take enough away from the quality of the Inn to merit four stars. Would absolutely recommend this hidden gem!

My husband and I travel every Dec to the Army Navy game n always like spending a few days after n taking in the local sights, but mostly the history. Given that this location is LITERALLY where the Revolutionary War began, it would have been nice to have a friendlier staff (unmasked) and been told some history of the city AND the home. Every B&B we've ever been to, (10 in the past few years alone) we've been greeted with questions as to where we are from, and been told about the facility, location, etc. I got more at a Hilton earlier in our trip. Embrace your customers. Being met by a masked worker is NOT welcoming. I felt she thought we were putting her out and toxic to her. This was our home for 2 days and we should not feel like that. The inn is beautiful, the food was good n fresh, the bedding was luxurious n comfy. But your customer service has something to be desired for those choosing a more personal n quaint experience.

The house itself is a 300-year-old farmhouse that has been owned by only 5 families throughout its history. Most of the original structure remains today, giving the place an authentic rustic feel -- not kitchy, like so many other bed & breakfasts. The hostess is cheerful and charming, and more than happy to give you a tour of the grounds (including a tunnel in the basement that was part of the underground railroad!). For us, she made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies fresh upon arrival. We stayed in the Carriage House, which really is a bargain for the space. The two-story suite includes a fireplace, kitchenette, television, desk, couch, armchair, and small table with two chairs. This is in addition to an outdoor porch attached to the unit, and the beautiful upstairs bedroom (with air conditioning). Breakfast was delectable, made exactly to our preferences, and served on a screened-in porch overlooking the gardens. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! I'd definitely stay here again, and would absolutely recommend this to any couple looking for a quick getaway from Boston.
