Delicious!! My family and I shared the vegetable platter, chicken tikka, chicken biryani and saag paneer with plain naan on the side. The dishes were beautifully presented and absolutely scrumptious. The tikka wasn't served with rice on the side, which was unusual to us, but we've only had Indian food in the USA until today, so maybe it's a regional thing. We didn't have any room at a the end for desserts, but we saw a couple options pass by, and they looked just as fantastic as the rest of the food. Service was excellent. My kids, husband, and I voted The Mint Room as one of our all-time favorite Indian restaurants. We highly recommend it! read more

This is an authentic Indian restaurant with great tasting food and exceptional service. I had the lamb biryani and the coconut & mango sorbet. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We just arrived at Bath, the kids and I were really hungry and hoped to find a good place to eat. The out side of the restaurant was a Mistry.. We went inside and the fine decoration was just right. The seatings are nice The staff more than welcoming and attended Food .. One of the best Indian dishes we tasted Really recommend it read more

Five stars can't fault the food and service, but very expensive but I guess it's worth it, would come more often if it was cheaper as all the food was AMAZING sadly I will only be visiting on special occasions otherwise I'd be there weekly but £70 for 2 people and we even shared a portion of rice!!!!! read more

Outstanding food: deliciously tasty, quite unusual and beautifully presented. Eaten from here twice and both times were exceptional. Last night was takeout for eight and the universal opinion was this was amongst the best Indians any of us had had. We had a mix of "standards" and their signature specials: all were distinctive and deliciously tasty. Much curry can be comforting but very fatty - this wasn't ( a friend commented that he usually drains off a load of oil from takeaway before eating it: not here). There was an astonishing range of flavours and some really novel spices. We have also eaten in: the same delicious food but with a presentation and mis-en-place I've never had before with curry. Of course, with the takeout you lose that visual aspect. Not the cliched "late night vindaloo after getting trolleys at the pub" - this is good food for a dinner out. The food was exceptional. I have tried many Indian restaurants and this has to rank in my all time top 10. The garlic naan was especially well made and perhaps the best I have ever had. The only down side (and the reason why I did not give 5 stars) is that I ordered a kingfisher and the incompetent waiter poured it vertically into the glass before it was served at the table. As a result I got a flat beer with a 3 inch head on the glass. Come on this is waiter 101. Someone needs to teach this idiot how to pour. Its not that hard. Apart from that good eats! read more

I've been here a few times since it opened on my visits to my old hometown and what started out well has gone downhill. A couple of years ago it was the owners who worked the front desk and waited and you felt very welcome and they really had made the wonderful food especially for you. However on my last visit I had to wait for 10 minutes while the Eastern European staff running to and fro ignored me, and the place was only half full. Not a good start. Then we were served by two of the three staff so we got asked everything twice - and the complementary poppadums fell between these two chairs, then arrived halfway through our starters. The menu seems to have got a bit shorter, but maybe it's just me! However the food was not up to scratch, the Chicken Jalfrezi being redolent with chili powder and fresh green or failing that red chilis entirely absent. Not good. Chili powder is for lazy chefs who have one sauce for three or four dishes on the menu. It wasn't cheap either £90 for two excluding tip is an very expensive curry in the U.K. So the Mint Room is just cashing in on the great name it made for itself a few years ago. So I'm on the look out for the next new curry sensation in Bath.... read more

They use British ingredients and marry them with a presentation that is innovative and exciting, yet distinctly Indian. - the restaurant is not directly located in the city center (only a few minutes by cab) - reservation recommended (the restaurant seems to be very popular) - nice atmosphere, modern Indian style - staff very friendly, several waiters jump around your table and ask for taking an order every 5 minutes (which makes it a little stressful) - large menu with different appetizers (warm and from the grill), classical dishes as well as deserts - appetizer: Rabbit Varuval: Chunks of rabbit meat tossed with onion, chilli, curry leaves and ground spices (5.95 GBP) - main: Chicken Dhansak: Cooked with lentils in an exotic, hot, sweet and sour sauce (9.95 GBP); Lal Maas: A Rajasthani delicacy of lamb chops cooked in a smoked spicy tomato curry served with spiced rustic mashed potato (12.95 GBP); both big portions, very tasty, but also "heavy" (probably as most Indian food is) - rice: mushroom rice (3.75 GBP) was okay; Pilau rice (3.50 GBP) was much more aromatic Conclusion: Nice atmosphere, good food, prices are high. read more

4 of us visited this restaurant, looking forward to have a very good time on a Saturday night. The experience ended up being awful. First of all while we were trying to place an order, the person taking our order spoke about it being "fine dining" and the portions being small. The food then landed on our table. The starters were great. We were now looking forward for a very good main course. We were very disappointment. The 2 main-course dishes tasted very very sweet and had absolutely no spice in it. We hence decided not to have desert and waited for the bill. The excitement began now - we received a bill with a 5 pound charge for water that we did not ask for or consume. 16 pounds charge against 2 dishes which listed as 4 pound each on the menu. We explained this to one waiter, the second one came and we explained the same to him. Then came the third guy who previously explained "fine dining" to us. He came with a corrected bill where he had taken off the 5 pound water charge but had left the other 16 pounds as is. When we questioned it further, he brought a ramekin bowl and tried to explain that that is the size of a portion and he served us a bigger portion. Neither had we asked for a bigger portion nor did he even mention this to us while taking the order. When we questioned this, he continued to explain "fine dining" to us again. We were very unhappy at this point. The person never apologised for the mistake nor did he try to address our concern. He then went away to correct the bill but before he came back to our table, i heard him say something really bad. He said "I have never seen Bhikaaris like them". Bhikaaris is a hindi word for Beggars. I then stood up and questioned why he was talking that way and he out rightly refused that he had said anything like this. We finally paid the final bill where he took out the 16 pounds. They wanted us to just leave the restaurant. But the way we were treated has left us absolutely shocked. This is not a restaurant where you can even dine forget about "fine dining". Someone please teach customer service and ways of treating customers, to the people working at this restaurant. Hands down the best curry in Bath. Far more choice than the usual run of the mill curry house with great variation and house specials. Prices are not cheap but entirely reasonable and the quality is outstanding. Service is exceptional - on one visit one of our party had to leave suddenly and the staff made another curry for us to take away free of charge so they didn't miss out on their food!! read more
