For just over 13 pounds, we got two entrées - chicken tikka masala and a "fairly hot" lamb curry. We also got one big piece of garlic naan and a side of rice to share. The food came out quickly and was made fresh on the spot. Let's start with the tikka masala - creamy and rich, the chicken was tender and tasty. I'm not a big tikka fan but this was really good. I had the lamb curry and let me say a few things. First, I have a fairly high heat tolerance and this dish was HOT. That being said, even though it was slightly hotter than I'm used to eating, it was manageable and above all, beyond enjoyable. It was at the perfect level of spiciness - any hotter would have made it very painful to eat and any cooler it wouldn't have been as good. On to the lamb. Lamb is delicious when it's cooked correctly. Far too often though, lamb gets overcooked and comes out tough and gamey. This was not the case here - the lamb was cooked PERFECTLY! It was tender - you could cut through it with a fork. Partnered with the sauce it was like eating in heaven. The naan was my least favorite part of the meal, but it was still enjoyable. Just not the best naan I've ever eaten. That being said, I'd still order it again. Same with the rice. We enjoyed the food so much we almost ordered it again the next night, but resisted the urge so we could try something new. After all, we were on holiday! For a quick delicious meal I highly recommend this place - you won't regret it!!

With the advent of the internet and subsequent emergence of social media, where user content is paramount, it is easy for a business to be misrepresented beyond all recognition, and banished into the realms of obscurity, purely and simply because people will easily give up trying to make sense out of the disparate information, and will order their takeaway from the simply defined business with a coherent description of what's on offer. The irony is that multiple mentions should actually affirm the business, but if they are all saying different things and using variations on the name, it makes a nonsense of everything! That aside, Tandoori Mahal Balti is a rather fine traditional Indian Restaurant and takeaway, that is very reasonably priced. Service is great, and the staff are as friendly as you like. The Good Eating Guide have seen fit to award them with a certificate of 'Outstanding Achievement' which is displayed in the window alongside the 'Roll of Honour' certificate from Master Chef, (whatever that may mean!)
