The bridal suite was perfect and had plenty of room for everyone to get dressed in one area and have hair/makeup done in the other. The grooms room was far enough away to make sure no one peaked until it was time. We also had such beautiful grounds to take pictures in. It was too cold and rainy for an outdoor gazebo ceremony. But the pictures we took there are going to be magical. We didn't really have to do too too much to the venue itself for decorating because there is so much natural charm and beauty to the venue. I also have to mention the exclusive catering company, Wooden Spoon. I was nervous to have them as our only option but we had the most delicious meal and received sooo many compliments. Tyler was able to work within our budget and not make it feel like we compromised at all. They also have an awesome rental room with so many decor pieces that we didn't have to worry about bringing with us or taking out of the space. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. Disappointing Experience with Sadie Lake…read more We originally booked Sadie Lake for our daughter's wedding, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we had hoped for. The venue itself was okay, but our biggest disappointment was dealing with DeeDee. Throughout the process, we felt that rules and expectations continued to change, leaving us increasingly uncomfortable with our decision to book there. One of the most off-putting things was the way DeeDee communicated with our family. She would only speak directly to the bride and would not address the mother of the bride or the mother of the groom when we asked questions. While we completely understand that the bride's wishes should come first, we felt there was no reason to dismiss family members who were actively involved in planning the wedding. It came across as rude and unprofessional. I've read the reviews about DeeDee on Yelp, but I've also heard terrible things from other people, which makes me question whether those reviews accurately reflect everyone's experience. Our experience was quite the opposite of what many of the reviews describe. As for the venue, the decorations and furnishings available for use looked more like items collected from garage sales than what I would expect from a wedding venue. The groom's room was in a garage, and the bridal suite was in an attic with mismatched furniture. Neither was particularly impressive. We ultimately decided to cancel more than a year before the wedding. We understood that the contract stated there were no refunds, but we were told that if our date was rebooked, we could receive a partial refund. To this day, I don't know whether that date was rebooked. Given how far in advance we canceled, we had hoped there might be some flexibility, but unfortunately, we lost the money we had paid. In the end, it wasn't so much the venue itself that caused us to walk away, but our experience with DeeDee and the changing expectations. We simply didn't feel comfortable trusting such an important day to someone we found so difficult to communicate with. Thankfully, we found another venue, and our daughter and her fiancé had an absolutely beautiful wedding. Looking back, changing venues was the best decision we could have made. My advice to anyone considering Sadie Lake would be to carefully review the contract, ask plenty of questions, and make sure every detail and expectation is clearly understood before booking.

The buildings are clean and cozy. The caretaker was friendly and helpful. I loved how flexible and accommodating she was. The rental price was very reasonable. Many of our guests complimented the venue and its beauty! There are many ways you can arrange a wedding here, but we had the ceremony in the house in front of huge windows overlooking the deck and lake. There were bedrooms we used for dressing rooms in the back. In the next room was a kitchen with fridge and oven. We used the oven to keep food warm. We had the reception in the next building over, called the "Meadow Room." It was a spacious room with a sink, gas furnace and restrooms just outside. They had plenty of tables and chairs and we were even able to hang decorations from the ceiling. We took most of the professional photos outside in the natural beauty, which was perfect! It began with you not being able to be located 5 minutes prior to our ceremony to mic up our officiant, and then entering the home numerous times to get things without asking.
