Update - DJ David attacked "me" for my political views due to a flag at my venue, and told me I can't act like he ruined my day when "we both know that's not the case". I have been nothing but calm and professional a sincere apology would have been huge but instead have been blocked on all forms of social media, and phone number. As someone who is also in the service industry I am the first to be understanding but this is inexcusable. Sharing my experience so another bride doesn't have to go through the same thing. Colton and I hired DA Productions DJ & Lighting for our wedding. Following our event I reached out to David (See Message Below) to express my thoughts and have been completely ignored. As Brides we spend so many hours thinking, and planning and I would hate to have someone else have a similar experience. David did a wonderful job at our wedding and is a warm, friendly, very kind guy. My husband and I met with him shortly after we got engaged, and I was so pleased that we had hired him. He is incredibly organized and was genuinely interested in our plans for our big day, and suggested many very helpful tips and ideas to make things go smoothly. He met with us in person on two seperate occasions before the wedding, and was very responsive and accessible via email and the phone. David was genuinely interested in learning about our musical tastes as well as helping us co-ordinate with all of our vendors and plan our day down to every last detail. Something to note about David: he really knows his stuff. My husband is pretty involved in the Seattle music scene, so it was important to find someone who would be able to play the right kind of music and pick up on subtleties, especially when it comes to local bands - David was definitely the right guy for the job. The wedding and reception went absolutely perfectly. Every song was played at the right time, and our guests were so excited by the music selection (especially when we started dancing). We got tons of compliments and people are still talking about how fun everything was - David has a natural talent for sensing what music the mood and tone of the crowd calls for. A big THANK YOU to our wedding DJ, David Anderson (aka DA Productions). David did an awesome job of staying in touch with us throughout the planning process to make sure that our itinerary for the reception was met and the songs we wanted were played. His website had a very easy to use feature where clients can log in and build their own playlists, as well as tag songs for special parts of the night (such as Bride & Groom's first dance). In the early stages he came out to our venue to get familiar with it, and invited us to come and see him perform at some other parties just to make sure we liked his style. He provided all the sound & lighting equipment, he knows how to MC a wedding reception, and he kept the dance floor full. For the price we paid, the value of what we got was outstanding! Review of DA Productions: I am writing this review to hopefully prevent any future couples from having their day ruined. To begin the sound system setup for the ceremony was still happening as guest arrived and just finished as the procession lined up. So there was no time for him to do any type of sound check for the mic or the music. The wireless system that was used for the ceremony had poor sound quality and had static coming through the speakers as well. We also paid extra for this second sound setup that was not worth the money. On top of that, he was in shorts and a t-shirt for the ceremony, he missed playing any music as guest arrived and waited. He played the wrong music for the procession. Then after the procession and bridal music was complete he disappeared, and when it was time for the recessional music he was nowhere to be found, with no music playing that we had picked out we improvised in the moment of silence. He was unable to work out issues with our wedding planner and had to revert to pulling me aside to speak to me about the rest of the agenda for the wedding. He was the only vendor incapable of working with our wedding planner. During the group dancing there was hardly any mix of music as well as parts where the music would just stop because he didn't have the next song ready and the volume was way to loud for the space provided. If you want poor quality of sound and services for a premium price David is your man. We honestly believe there is much better quality DJs out there that could do better for less. Lastly there was no apology for ruining our ceremony or the lack of DJ ability during the dancing. There is no redo and we can't have our moment back and it is sad that David has not acknowledged any fault on his part. read more

Working with David was really great! When we met with David he patiently went through all the details about what to expect and asked us all of the right questions about our likes in music, building a profile of our guests, venue details and a host of other things. His company has also put together a very easy to use website for clients that allows them to easily add music that they like. It was also nice for us because it let us see what is popular so it helped us find wedding music faster. Through the whole process, he was very professional and understanding. He also makes a great effort to help organize people and events during the reception night to take some stress off of the bridal party. Actually during our wedding, some of our guests actually came up to us and told us that they liked the DJ! And finally, David did an AWESOME job with the lighting at our reception! Was looking for Dj David again for another event. I cant believe I didnt post a review from the past. He DJ'd my daughter outdoor sweet 16 and made it complete. The music kept those kids dancing for hours! Plus the adults shoved their way on the dance floor too!! My sister in law used him for my nieces sweet 16 as well, AND a work party!! Since I have been threatened with legal action of libel by David after my initial review, I am only allowed to state facts and not my personal opinion. While I understand I submitted a harsh initial review, it was nothing short of honest and I wanted to share the experience we had so that others may make a more knowledgeable decision regarding their vendor choices. Additionally, I do not believe clients should be subject to their vendor making false accusations about a marriage certificate and having legal action against them for sharing their experience. Pros: He had neat lighting and a snow machine He meets with clients prior to the wedding date Cons: He was late to our ceremony He came earlier in the day to set up so his equipment was there but he was late for the actual ceremony and we had to wait to start until his arrival He set up a fog machine (we did not want a fog machine) that was set off during my father daughter dance. David states he does not know who plugged in the fog machine or turned it on. All of his equipment is run by remote controls but regardless, a fog machine takes liquid and he brought the machine and set it up with liquid. After the machine filled the dance floor the fire alarms went off causing the fire department showed up. This alarmed many guests and as such, my Dad and I cut our dance short In our opinion, we could not understand David speaking on the microphone In our opinion, the songs abruptly moved from one to the next. We did not feel they were faded together at all. He played the wrong song for the bridal party entrance although i corrected him at the rehearsal He was at the venue until 1am but we needed to be out by 11:30. We then had to pay the overtime fee for the venue o The timeline stating the time vendors needed to be out was emailed to David as on January 24th The He stapled cords into the walls at the venues and although he was told not to, he spackled the staple holes and causing us to lose some of our damage deposit o He did try to pay the venue directly but since he was not who they had a contract with they advised me to get the money from him. Since this was a cost from him stapling up the wire to the snow machine I agreed to cover this expense. My husband and I were expecting to be refunded the overtime charges he caused from staying late so to me this was not a big deal. But David has since retracted his statement of wanting to turn the mistakes into a positive situation. David was unhappy with the damages and late fees the venue reported to the coordinator and I. On February 27th He wanted a copy of my contract because "I plan on taking further action in discussing Nelda very untrue comments about me and what happened with our working relationship." A wedding is an emotional day and as such, I had a lot of strong feelings about the mistakes that happened after spending over a year of planning. I did write a truthful but opinionated review that conveyed how I personally felt about his work and the information that was given to be about the events that occurred from both the coordinator and the venue. A few days later, I received the following email: o Kristen, You need to stop writing untruthful comments about what really happened on your wedding day. I tried to take care of my mistakes but you would not even give me the time of day. I am about ready to file charges that your wedding license was forged and is not legal. You should think about what you are doing! David We received our Wedding License by the courthouse and nothing was forged. Further, David had nothing to do with my wedding license or my marriage certificate. When I did not respond or remove my review I received an additional email: Dear Kristin, After giving this a lot of thought, I have decided to retain legal counsel so that I can file and pursue legal action against you for your personal attack on me and the lies you have included in your reviews that you have submitted to Wedding Wire, The Knot, & Yelp. It is one thing to write about my mistakes which I did try to make right on, but when you make this a personal attack against me and lie about what went on at your wedding day, I won't stand for it. I have contacted Kerra and will be getting supporting facts form Julie, Emily & Kerra as well from Colin who was there and witnessed the conversation with Alyson at the venue about what was factual and the fabricated lies you said in your reviews. This email is not meant as a threat; but as a courtesy. If you would like this to all go away, then I would suggest you rethink what you wrote and remove the untruthful information on your reviews. If I don't hear back from you or see the removal of these reviews, I will proceed in legal action against you for libel. David was nice enough up to and throughout the event. But he left us a little wanting on the wedding day. He seemed almost shy while MC'ing the event. He was a little scatter brained when it came to our entrance and our cake cutting ceremony. But the thing that was a little frustrating was that he played some of our requested dance songs while people were eating (e.g. Uptown Funk seemed a little out of place while everyone was stuffing their faces). And then when we transitioned into the dancing part of the night, very few of our songs that we added on his website actually got played. It wasn't a disaster by any means. We still had a good time. But the devil's in the details, and that's where I think he could improve. read more

When we first met DJ David he was very thorough on explaining his services to make us feel at ease. David was very flexible with meeting us to discuss music, timelines, etc. He always returned phone calls with any questions and willing to be helpful when I, the bride, was so nervous. He was also a coordinator and an MC. The music and festivities flowed perfectly. What a great value his services were including the light show, music, sound system and choice of songs. The wedding party and guests were highly entertained with dancing and music from beginning to end. Our wedding was a major success because of David. He was a top notch professional in every aspect. Choosing David for our Wedding and Reception was hands down one of the BEST decisions we made. He is phenomenal! His attention to detail, demeanor and all out care he takes to ensure your event is flawless and exactly what you are looking for is beyond compare. I couldn't be happier. He is a true professional and because he has done many events he thinks of things (small details) that you wouldn't even think about to make your day even more special. I came in from out of state to have our wedding and reception and was so nervous about choosing the right DJ because we know they can definitely make or break the event but from the initial phone conversation with David, I knew he was the perfect choice. He is so much more then 'just the DJ". He really takes care of everything. I truly had to worry about nothing when it came to timing of events, questions from other vendors throughout the night, the flow of the evening, transitioning from wedding to reception to the meal to the dancing. He worked with the other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. He met with us 2 different times to get to know who we truly are, what things were most important to us, walk through the process of choosing the music, just everything. He is very responsive and makes it simple and easy to access him through various media options. I have had so many compliments on the day. So many of our guest of said that it was the best wedding and reception they have ever been to because of the music. It was so fun, the timing and flow of the music was perfect. We had age groups from 5 to 85 and he had everyone dancing the whole time. Just a flawless day! I will recommend him to everyone I know and I will definitely use his services again! As an example of his going above and beyond, our Town Car service did not show up to pick us up at the end of the evening so he stepped in and provided us a ride to our hotel even though he would still have to go back to the venue and break everything down after such a long day. read more
