In our planning stages, Ted was thorough, asked several great questions, accommodated a few requests we had without question, and was reassuring that we were approaching our day the right way, but he also wasn't afraid to offer suggestions that broke with what we initially envisioned, and his suggestions were indeed the correct ones, but he kept his suggestions within our vision, which requires a level of detail orientation that we were quite impressed with. We truly believe he cared about our big night going well, almost as much as we did. At the event, Ted was punctual and ready to roll when people started showing up, checked in with not just me and my wife, but several of our family members and friends, and made sure everyone was having a good time. Ted's charismatic, agreeable, funny, and really cares about his craft. I don't think I have a single complaint. Hugh touched base the week of the wedding and we went over all the details in the form. I made most of my own playlists and had specific artists I wanted to hear, and Hugh delivered on all of it. The ceremony music played without a hitch, the cocktail hour/dinner music was exactly me and my husband's taste, and he played songs from my playlist for dancing without straying from what I chose. Everyone at our wedding was dancing and having a great time. On top of all of it, Hugh was great at communicating with the other vendors to make sure everything went according to plan. Weather and some venue issues meant that we had to give Nate some last minute changes, and he just rolled with the punches. Nate was by far our least problematic vendor and actively helped us out when our other vendors messed up. Our food got delayed, which pushed dinner back. My wife and I didn't have any ideas on how to fill the time because everyone was already seated for dinner when we got the news. Nate came up to us and suggested we play "the Shoe Game" which he already had prepared. It was a massive hit and I had multiple people come up to me afterwords and tell us that they are going to do it at their wedding! Nate also crushed it with the music on the dance floor. I gave him a playlist to work off, and he made it way better. The transitions were smooth and he played exactly the music we were looking for. He did a great job with requests too. At the end of the night, I remembered a song I wanted to listen to, but we only had time for the final song. Nate managed to play basically the entire last song and still stuck in the song that I had requested at the very end. It was such an awesome way to end the night! TLDR; Book Nate!! Being…read morea musician myself, I expected to have to go through dozens of bands before finding the perfect fit. Turns out I was wrong: I found their website, listened to ten or so audio clips and decided they were the band for me. Could not have made a better choice. Duane was responsive from the very beginning. As I mentioned before, I'm a musician myself, so I wanted to dedicate a song to my husband during the reception. Duane was very receptive to the idea and even let me hold two rehearsals free of charge with him and Zane, the pianist. They provided very helpful and educational phrasing and performing tips. At the wedding reception itself, they definitely set the mood for the party. More than half the guests came up to me to compliment my band choice. Duane and his band performed all of my selections with impressive talent. I had requested "Life's a Happy Song" from the new Muppet movie as the grand entrance song for my husband and I, and to our surprise and delight, they even brought out a Kermit the frog puppet for the song. My song went very smoothly, and they even dedicated Iz's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to me with the guitarist performing on the ukelele. That was definitely a delightful surprise and the highlight of the reception for me. Finally, I mentioned offhand that a couple of my friends were talented swing dancers. I had completely forgotten that I mentioned this, but they played a song specifically for the dancers to wow the crowd. In short, I would highly recommend Jazz Unlimited to anyone looking for jazzy, swing type music for their reception.
