I opted for the Fowler Room to host my baby shower. The front desk was able to answer our questions as we began to set up (how lights work, extra thumbtacks, etc.). Dearly beloved! It's very easy to imagine this place being used for all kinds of events, not just for weddings. But given how frequently they host weddings (even just the ones I attend and participate in), there's a good chance you're reading this because you'd like to know whether it's a good wedding venue. Long story short, it is. They appear to offer everything, if you want it--there's a kitchen and presumably bar services, and they have great spaces and all the furniture and basic settings and all that. But what makes this place so cool is the setting. They're a few blocks up from the waterline, with a commanding view of Whidbey, Hat Island, and head of Camano. It's not a broad stretch of water, but it's incredibly picturesque, and makes a great backdrop for photos, ceremony, and reception. You can slice it and dice it a number of different ways. Friends have gotten married down at the lighthouse and come back up here for the reception, and most recently, friends held both the ceremony and the reception here. There's a hall with two walls of windows at least three stories high, surrounded by nice wide patios you could use for some or all of the event if desired. I stood in this wedding, but I did not press the bride and groom for too many details about finances. Still, I got the distinct impression that they were ecstatic with the value here. They booked well ahead for an October wedding (not peak season, admittedly), catered it themselves, brought in their own kegs and bar staff, and did their own setup and cleanup. Well, actually, we all helped with setup and cleanup. All this helped them throw a medium-large wedding (about 70 people) without breaking the bank. It came out wonderfully. The stretch of water turned dark gray in the Halloween storm, which made the white gown and black suits and dresses pop in the photos. The staff checked us in quickly, letting us get started setting up early. They checked in with us on everything, but let us roll through organizing everything ourselves. They had no problem letting the caterers drop off their trays for us, helping coordinate that without coming in to get us. Everything went off without a hitch. You can't smoke inside (disappointing for cigar smokers, but hardly surprising), though you can have beer and wine for toasts in the changing rooms. The women's changing room includes bathrooms. At the end of the night, their staff helped slightly with teardown, but the bride and groom were still able to get away with a very reasonable fee for the whole affair. It seemed pretty clear from all the uniforms and facilities here that you can have the community center do everything for you if you want. This seems like a great choice as a wedding venue if you're inclined to do such a thing. read more

My boyfriend and I came to the Rosehill Community Center for a friend's wedding reception. It was held in the Point Elliott Room, which I guess is the largest one they have there. Getting there was a bit tricky for us and so was the parking lot situation. After we got there we were again turned around as to where the main room/reception area was, but eventually we were able to find other people that were part of our party and we followed them. The room itself is very spacious especially with the high ceilings. The view from the room is breathtaking. Luckily our table was right next to the outside balcony so we were able to fully enjoy the view while watching the sunset. Not sure how much the room cost them, but it really was a great spot to hold their wedding reception. Not-to-mention the out-of-town guests were staying at the Silver Clound Inn, which was right down the street from here. read more

I had an event here some while ago. The grounds of the venue are very well kept and the faculties are so beautiful. We had our event in the small room downstairs and it worked out very well. I can't speak for the staff because I did not secure the venue, Someone else did. She didn't have any complaints though. They do have a lot of rules but I can understand. How else would they keep the place in pristine condition without those rules? All in all, great location, beautiful grounds, breathtaking views and all in the heart of Mukilteo. read more

* This review is solely based on renting out the Elliot Bay room for a wedding reception and the outdoor lawn for an outdoor wedding ceremony. When my Husband & I were looking for a venue (a little over a year ago) to get married, we looked into the snohomish venues because we really wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony. But like all well established venues, they were all extremely pricey and you would have to go along with their preference for vendors, which would have easily tripled our original budget. Thankfully, we found this place and once we saw the view of the water and the building, we were sold... to top it off, the price was more affordable than the other venues, with a much better view, and they also allow you to bring in your own vendors. I found this place by accident while I was searching for venues onlines, Rosehill is a very new building. The artistry on the architecture is simply stunning; with high vaulted ceilings and huge floor to ceiling glass windows that overlook the water. It looked so clean, sleek, and sophisticated. They also had great audio equipment and tech savvy curtains to dim the area if needed. To book the place we had to do a lottery system and although that it a huge reason for the lower ratings and I agree that there should be a better way to do it, I'm not going to complain about it too much, the price was much more afforable then any other venue and we decided we were willing to drive up there (coming from Renton) every 1st wednesday of the month untill we've secured a date. * The customer service we've had was great and professional. All of them seemed fair, friendly, and helpful. You have to understand this is not a Private venue, it is a community center, with that being said, the regulations they have are justified. This is a quiet town... I feel that it's part of the reason why the place is so beautiful and I respect that. I feel bad for the lower ratings on this place because I just feel people have been too judgemental, comparing it to "private venue" vs a "public one". If you know what you are getting into and can respect that, then you will be happy with what they have to offer. *Our rental agreement was for 10hrs on a Saturday (on the month of June, 2015). At that time our venue cost us about $2,500 for the elliot bay room and the lawn. There is a $500 deposit, we got our deposit back in full. I'm sure they will bump up their prices yet again for next year. Seems pricey but once compared to other venues (over 5k), much more aforable. * You can only serve Beer and Wine. No hard alcohol. This was OK for us because we didn't want people getting carried away and this also helped us out on our budget! * They are organized and happy to help as long as you ask and make sure you follow their guidelines. They are strict but give your fair warning, (ie: My guest unknowingly was blowing bubbles inside the room and one of the Front desk attendent asked them politely to stop because of safety issues. My guest respected that and stopped.) *Less than a minute away from the Mukilteo Lighthouse to capture photos right next to the water. We had our amazing photographer, Rebeca, capture a shot of us as the sun was setting! I can't think of any cons for this place. They have alot of updated technology so we were able to have microphones set-up for the outdoor ceremony, do our slideshow, they have easels for your signs, and plenty of tables and chairs. My husband and I LOVED this venue and would recommend it to our friends and family. We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception in September of 2012 at Rosehill and we loved every minute of it. The gorgeous sunset, the guests on the balcony welcoming us in, the ability to go to the lighthouse for photos. Stunning! The great room will accommodate easily 200-250 guests, not sure we would have wanted to stuff more guests in there, that was just the perfect amount with a dance floor. We had appetizers on the balcony, and dinner in the Point Elliot room was splendid. We used Twelve Baskets catering, and they did a splendid job!! You can't beat that view! read more

No stars. We had a memorial in the Art room today for my dad that had just passed. After everyone was leaving, the custodial staff came in and very rudely told my sister all 60 chairs were not stacked correctly. We unstacked and restacked all the chairs. Then, the male custodian told us we needed to take out the garbage but didn't bother to tell us where to take it. One of my sisters then spoke to a female custodian about where to take the garbage out to and was met with complete attitude as the custodian told her, "You knew this." As I was sweeping the room, the female came in with a push broom and stated rudely, "Well I'm helping," as she swept around and shook the broom out at my feet for me to continue to sweep it into the dust pan. Before we walked out, we all asked if there was anything else that needed to be done and was told, very rudely, "it's fine." Once we left, my sister went back in to speak with a manager and hears the two custodians rudely talking about us. Saying how our party didn't know how to clean up after ourselves and that we left the room a disaster and didn't know how to read a contract. My sister confronted the women about what they we're saying and the women denied it, even though my sister stood there listening to them outside the door. The man then pointed to my sister up and down and told her she was being "a stereotype" and no one would get their deposit back. I do understand that the cleanup may be outlined in the contract, which is completely fine, but these 2 custodians were the most unprofessional people I have ever come in contact with. We were dealing with a memorial of a family member and these people wanted to be argumentative and unprofessional and I sincerely hope no one ever has to deal with them in a time of tragedy read more

During these tough times, Shawna was very reliable in alleviating our worries by bring transparent, responsive, and answering our questions. Beautiful wedding venue! This is an amazing wedding venue with great options for getting married inside or outside. It's view is great and many options for renting the different spaces for a good price. When getting married you have certain expectations and traditional things you may want at your wedding. Before booking at Rosehill, definitely make sure you pay attention to all the details of what you cannot do. Being a community center, there is rules and regulations that you must follow. Expect the staff to work as city workers, not the friendly/nice, attentive staff you'd get at a normal wedding venue who only do weddings. The staff at Rosehill definitely will make the rules and regulations very clear to you, they won't miss a beat on telling you what you cannot do. -You cannot have your flower girl throw real or fake pedals. -You cannot bring decoration of any sort past the entrance stairwell. -You MUST have the doors of the community center closed right at 10pm and music off by 10:30pm. If you do not follow, police will be called -You cannot have any hard alcohol on the venue premises. -No wedding sparklers of any kind. Again, great venue. Before booking, just make sure you are ok with all these rules. Hire a wedding planner to take care of all the check-in's and check-out's at Rosehill as well. read more

Shawna and her team at Rosehill Community Center made the planning of our wedding venue and the re-planning of our wedding due to COVID-19 as stress-free as it possibly could be. When we first booked the venue they were friendly, communicative, and encouraged us to ask any question we had. They let us visit the venue again on the convenience of our schedule so we could visualize what the room set up would be and shared with us what set ups were typical for the size of our event. They were fantastic!! When COVID hit we were two months out from our wedding date and completely unsure what would happen. Shawna and her team communicated updates as quickly and efficiently as they could with us. They never left us hanging and worked with us to re-book a date for next year. This team is fantastic, the venue is beautiful and they truly went above and beyond to make things as stress free as they could be for us. This review is for an event we didn't get to hold due to COVID-19. We had hoped to use the Point Elliot Room for a rehearsal dinner, but the wedding plans changed due to Washington's phased reopening plan requirements. So, although the venue setting was beautiful,the contracting process simple, and the staff very pleasant and responsive, it was not to be. Instead, this review is to express our appreciation of how helpful and patient the staff were as we tried to determine whether we would or wouldn't be able to hold the event, their willingness to give us plenty of time to make that decision and to top it off they refunded our deposit. That's a choice that many other venues aren't making during this pandemic. I don't think we'll be having another wedding soon, but I wanted to share the positive experience we did have and note my appreciation for the policy decisions that were made for our community regarding refunds during this difficult time. read more

We had our daughter's wedding at Rosehill Community Center. They have so many rules. We could not have a rehearsal of the wedding the night before in the same place the wedding would take place in the Community Center because a business booked to use the facility for 3 days around the wedding date. We were told we could have it at 9:00 pm the night before (when the rehearsal dinner was going on) or 3 days before the wedding (when the bridesmaids and the groomsmen where coming from out of town and would not be in Seattle yet). We had our some of our stuff stolen from the locked room after the wedding.The Rosehill CC have cameras and never let us know who did it. The staff was inconsistent. read more

Horrible communication and customer service. I booked a weekly dance class for my 7 year old at Rose Hill Community Center and gave the classes to her as a gift. My daughter and wife showed up to the community center and stood around for a while waiting for the instructor on the day the classes were to begin. When they went to the front desk to ask about the status of the class when no instructor or other students were present, they were told it was cancelled. My first complaint would be that there was no call or email notifying us that the class was cancelled. The second, they have refused to refund the fee that was paid to enroll in the class via their website. I called and talked to several representatives at the community center, including a member of the management team, and each time, I was treated with rude, condescending answers. I was promised that I would get the fee back. It's been three months and I haven't received a refund our any sort of communication from the Rose Hill staff. When a class is cancelled by the provider, any and all fees should be returned. Rose Hill has a different idea of how this should be handled. I'm a Mukilteo resident and have been for 18 years. I coach youth sports in the community and have used the facilities at Rose Hill for classes and training sessions for my teams. I'm sad to report that I will never book another event at Rose Hill. The staff is rude and their refund policy is designed to take from the consumer....even when they cancel an event that they solicit enrollees for. It's pretty simple....you cancel an event on a consumer....you communicate that cancellation clearly and you give the consumer their money back. That simple. read more

I rented this venue for my wedding in Feb. 2013. Lets start by saying that the view is spectacular. The staff (most) are polite and willing to help. The downside for me is that beyond the polite staff and great view-- there isn't much else great going on. Also, this venue is being more and more used- so watch out for the price increase! I'm a very, very organized person. I handled everything for my wedding myself, that way I didn't have to use a middle man. Somehow, they lost the proper payment information that we gave & we've yet to receive our damage deposit. They haven't much been willing to just understand the fact that this was their mistake and not ours & refund our money to the correct account. They HAVE refunded our money, but not to any accounts that my husband and I have ever had. Also, with the slightest of confrontation, they staff gets passive aggressive. read more

My Wife and I were recently married here and we couldn't have asked for a better space.We were lucky that the weather cooperated and we had a gorgeous afternoon for the big day. The whole event went off without a hitch and the space added to the fun of the whole night. We received many compliments about the space and even got a couple of other people interested in doing an event there. Did it not look like this when I lived here??? What a fantastic remodel to say the least! For it being such a tremendous overhaul and amazing upgrade one might think it would lend itself to being overblown, excessive and ostentatious yet, it has a modern feel and seems to fit in perfectly with the small bay town I called home. *READ* This is a very good looking venue with a nice view BUT I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody and advise people that are looking into this venue to check other places. The staff was incredibly rude and very uncommunicative. Not only that the man I spoke to who referred to the venue as "his house" is very disrespectful and acted aggressively when I confronted him on him telling my 70 year old grandmother to sweep up THREE confetti strips or she wont get her money back! We had been cleaning for 2 hours sweeping and mopping and when we were all saying our goodbyes in the parking lot my grandmother asked one of us to clean side room. So after I PICKED UP literally 3 confetti strips it turned into him acting all macho and trying to fight a college kid for telling him he sucks for telling an old lady he's gonna keep her money if 3 pieces of paper aren't picked up. His feelings were clearly hurt and nobody likes to be criticized, but as an owner of a business you have to act professionally and listen to criticism not try to fight somebody that is complaining. Bottom line it's not okay to act aggressively and keep the deposit(yup he kept the money) because he felt "disrespected in his house". So if you are thinking Rosehill think again. read more

For the money that Mukilteo paid to construct the beautiful structure and in that location, you would think that they would hire staff for an events venue that actually like people. instead, they staffed this facility with the Gestapo police who have zero people skills. i was not going to review the staff, but after reading through the negative reviews also referring to the staff, apparently my negative experience was not isolated. we had brought in an equipment that after being told we couldn't use, we agreed not to use it. but then moments before the wedding ceremony was to start, Bryce the Gestapo security says we have to move it off the premises or he will stop the wedding ceremony. i mean, really??? where are these people from? were you raised in a barn or something? then on the send-off for the newly marrieds, we had one harley join in the racket to send them off with admittedly some noise for about 60 seconds out on the parking lot. i mean it's a party. it wasn't like it went on for an hour. it was 60 seconds! Terry, the facility director literally was in the middle of the parking lot trying to block me from driving back in, it was so ghetto. then calls the police because they were 'concerned' about the noise around the neighborhood, as if. oh please. 60 seconds at 7 pm (not after 11 pm). the staff literally calls the police for every little thing that the responding officers literally apologized to me and my friends about the overreaction from the staff. City of Mukilteo, it's great to have a beautiful community center hosting events. Having it run with staff that have zero people skills does the community no favor. read more

This place is pretty but there are a million pretty places on the Puget Sound. Beware of the staff, some are aggressive! The staff was awful! They were unhappy, didn't like when we asked for help with things like the lighting, and rude! The wedding was stressful ONLY because of the staff. At my daughters recent wedding, the two women on duty at the facility were rude and condescending and made many wedding guests and family very uncomfortable with their interference during the reception and immediately following. I do believe they thought they should have badges and weapons on their hip. I cannot express how rude they were. They managed to make a happy day a painful experience.Especially for the parents. Whether real or imagined, they found a way to keep the damage deposit and ask for more, although no damage was done. One reason being that a few guests decided to sneak in a few little airplane bottles of liquor. I am sorry but we did no have airport type of security working the door. How would we even know that the guests had these? Your flower girls cannot throw flower petals real or artificial. I was told that if even one was found on the floor they would keep the entire damage deposit. Cleaning was paid for by the grooms parents so we would not have to do it, the rental fee, the insurance required and the set up and cleaning fees certainly should have covered the real or imagined infractions. There are other pretty and lovely wedding venues. I would suggest finding one of them so that you are not billed and disappointed following your magnificent day. So sad that the newlyweds have such unhappy memories of what should have been filled with only good. read more

Worst Staff ever! This place has no class. I can't believe how after a funeral ceremony the staff would come in and yell at us for not stacking chairs and the floor being dirty. No big deal if we had been told previously, but instead the family was left not knowing and being heckled by the staff quite rudely after just saying goodbye to a loved one. Ok so we re stacked the chairs swept the room and hiked the bags of trash to the other side of the building ( which is ridiculously far). Rosehill is a beautiful Venue. However the staff are horrible. Unfriendly, lack of communication between them, so we are getting different answers from different staff members. We were told to have a point of contact person on our contract in case of anything that comes up during the wedding, we provided 2 names and cell numbers, and after the wedding they told us we were looking for the contract holder due to some minor issues during your wedding and we couldn't find her... I said did you make effort to connect with the 2 contact names, they said No. We hired the company they recommend to clean up the venue, then they had the nerve to say the cleanup company left garbage in the storage room, so we don't want to give you your deposit back.. but since my staff didn't take pictures and have no proof we have to give you your deposit back. We finally got our deposit 2 months after our wedding and having to go down there and arguing with them. read more

We just had my sister's wedding here and it was a beautiful place. However, like others have mentioned in reviews, the staff was so inflexible and made the day more stressful than necessary. My family all worked our butts off to help the day run smoothly and get the place clean by 10pm, which is the Sunday check out time. The whole time we were treated like children and chided for the smallest issues. When we were cleaning like crazy after the event, one woman walked around basically telling everyone to clean faster in literally the most cranky and frustrating way possible. Additionally, we were told when we came to check out the place that we could control the sound system. On the day of, however, they basically cut off all access to the sound and lighting system and said we would have to hire one of their techs to use it for us. Oh, but guess what, there were no techs available that day! So we were left with only the ability to turn lights and music off or on. They disconnected all the controls and refused to let us use our sound board and had some staff who were not knowledgeable about sound try and do it. I am not a person who is easily annoyed, but these people really made me angry because we all worked so hard and were very easy to work with but they just kept making it harder for us and were very condescending. My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Rosehill a week and a half ago, and we just absolutely loved it! Our ceremony was in Ballard, so we had to make the tough call of whether to make our guests do the 45 drive in between, but it was totally worth it! Since the venue is still so new, none of our vendors had seen it before, but all of them commented that it was such an amazing space! So many guests commented on it as well. The price was extremely affordable (much more so than any similarly-sized space in Seattle), although I wouldn't be surprised if they raise their prices for next season because it really is state of the art and gorgeous. We had 180 guests, and we fit very comfortably. Even though it was only about 60-65 degrees outside, people totally used the deck off the Pt. Elliott room, which was something I wondered about beforehand. The staff was extremely helpful and accessible in the months before the wedding, and they worked with the other vendors very well too. I'm trying to think of other things to say about this amazing space for someone who might be thinking about it, but I'm running out of thoughts. It is a lottery system that you have to come in on a particular day and time (I had to take off work for this) and draw a number to pick a date for the following year. My fiance and I went in on two separate occasions now and drew poor numbers so we didn't get a friday or a saturday on both months, which was what we wanted. I have never heard of this system before and am very frustrated because I could have reserved my date several months ago for what would've been over a year and a half out. There were many frustrated people and I am definitely moving on to another venue. read more
