Posting an update after I held my wedding here…read more All of the staff that I worked with before and during the event were all really great. They made the process easy. The guy that was at the venue at 8 am with me the day of my wedding was really helpful, kind and patient, especially since I was the bride setting up my own wedding alone. He helped me figure out the tablecloths and answered some questions that I had. The opera house is a freaking sauna in the summer. I would not book any kind of event here in the summer. They have 2 standing fans for the main floor and no air conditioning. It was 85 F the day of my wedding, and I was sweating to death in a t-shirt and shorts. Once I put on my wedding dress, I was a non-stop sweat fest. All of our guests were sweating like crazy too. People were rubbing their faces with napkins and hankerchiefs with visible sweat running down their faces. As soon as the program part of the reception ended, everyone except a handful of people darted out to escape the heat. Hardly anyone stayed to dance and many of our guests sent us notes on Facebook or text messages saying they were sorry they didn't stay to wish us well, they were about to die of heat stroke and had to leave. The bridal suite/cottage has zero fans and zero air conditioning. The bathroom in the bridal suite is convenient so you can shower there after setting up your wedding but it is absolute hell. There is no fan in the bathroom and the walls and floor are wood, holding in all of the heat. I took a cold shower and so did my SIL, BIL, MIL and husband. All of them were about to die. My MIL left her hair wet. There are no electrical outlets either in the bathroom and none in the two rooms to get ready in. There is a mini fridge in the bridal suite but the door's broken and it doesn't keep anything cold. There isn't an ice machine in the kitchen nor an oven or stove so all of your food has to be cooked elsewhere and brought in. Our caterer didn't believe me that there's no ice machine and was running around last minute to bring in bags of ice. The AV set up is great and the acoustics are great for music and microphones. They will charge you extra for any use of their AV so we just used our DJ's. It's a really beautiful building and I'd use it again but only in the winter.

Everyone at our wedding had a great time- also, since the venue is already so beautiful, all we really had to do was decorate our tables and the stage. The bridal cottage was PERFECT- plenty of space for everyone to get ready and a few lovely photo op spots. Leading up to the wedding, the staff checked in with us every couple of weeks to make sure we were getting everything we needed. I will always remember my wedding day as beautiful and stress free because of the services provided by this business. A Chapel on Swan's Trail is a gorgeous venue with an incredibly helpful staff. The Chapel is over 100 years old and located up high on a hill with a beautiful view overlooking the Snohomish valley and downtown Everett. The grounds are gorgeous with lush landscaping and something to see everywhere you look. The best part of the venue, in my opinion, is that it can be held indoor or outdoor. On my wedding day we hoped for an outdoor ceremony but were able to easily move the ceremony indoors once we saw the rain was not giving up. We moved indoor for the ceremony but the rain broke and we were still able to have the reception outdoors. Lynn, the owner of the Chapel, seriously took the weight off of me in helping figure out all of the details in planning and she took lead on the day of. The first time I went to the chapel to meet with Lynn I was overwhelmed and after leaving I felt like things were making sense and everything was under control. Lynn even recommended our pastor, Reuben Sapien, whom everyone loved. She was able to provide all of the linens on site and even provided staff to help throughout the wedding day and (which was huge) a cleanup crew so we did not have to worry about that. If you are searching for a venue, take the time to meet with Lynn and tour the property yourself and you will see the care that goes into planning your day and into the property to make it special.

My now husband and I could not say no to a venue that was 1) beautiful 2) great price 3) had a closet full of decor we could use and 4) responsive owners that answered any questions that came their way. The decor planning was relatively easy since we used pieces from the closet for our entrance and reception tables. Most folks said I didn't look stressed throughout the process, and I believe most of that stemmed from Gray Bridge making it incredibly simple for us to use their items. We just had to take care of personal pieces, such as the entrance sign or guestbook. The only downside to this place is the drive, which is roughly an hour away from Seattle (or 1.5X during traffic time). We overcame that by starting our ceremony earlier than usual (330PM) so we could have our guests enjoy the venue for roughly 7.5-8 hours. Another perk to this venue is they allow any vendors onsite. We weren't stuck with having to buy X cases of wines at wineries or sticking with food caterers that were not on par to the quality we were looking for. Overall, I highly recommend you checking out this place and booking ASAP since their dates fill up well a year in advance.

To start with, the venue is absolutely gorgeous (our wedding was in June). We wanted a beautiful PNW backdrop to show our out of state guests and that is definitely what we got - everyone complimented us on it later! Gray Bridge is set up in a thoughtful layout that makes wedding days flow smoothly while also providing smaller, intimate moments for photos, games, mingling, etc. Additionally, Stacy and Matt go above and beyond to make sure everything is on track and the venue is set up to each couple's specific wedding day vision. It took so much of the uncertainty out of wedding planning to know that we were in such good hands and that Stacy and Matt had great relationships with our vendors, which really goes a long way. Finally, all the decor available to borrow definitely kept costs (and stress) down! We definitely hope to be back here as guests someday :)

The indoor area has a nice large bar and a big kitchen as well. The building itself is old but has seemed to be kept up nicely. The conference room was kind of smelly, but it could have just been the left over odor from the groomsmen getting ready in there. Lol! The area for the women to get ready was a nice big lavatory lounge with big mirrors and lighting. Thank goodness we had a fan bc it did get a bit hot I'm there. Make sure to be prepared to plan though because it seemed like there was lots of prep done by family & friends, so I am not sure if the venue offered a crew for set up & tear down. They searched and searched for a place that matched their vibe and their pocketbook. And even though Sadie Lake was almost two hours from their home, it proved to be the perfect choice (well, except for the local dinosaur infestation). From Day 1, they' were in love with DeeDee. She offered lots of items for free that couples usually have to pay to rent or buy. Everything was all listed on her website so even those of us in other states could peruse. The location is so beautiful and the premises really felt quaint and homey, not formal and stuffy like some venues. And then there were things that no other venue offered, like the boat on the lake for some fantastic photos! I think the bonus was that it was probably the least expensive place they looked at. Deedee's not in it to make bank; she does it because she has a beautiful place that she wants others to enjoy on their special day. As the mother-of-the-bride, I'm not surprised that I thought it was the second best wedding I've been to (don't I have to pick my own as #1), but soooo many guests told me they felt the same way. Also called "Purple Wedding Chapel"…read more I attended a wedding at the Purple Chapel this weekend. The weather was flawless; so that was rare, and set a beautiful tone to the special event. The Chapel is the backyard of a couple of Reverends who live in the house at the front. The backyard is huge ~ a third of an acre with a gazebo for the couple and seating under an awning equipped with heat lamps for about 50 and more seating on the lawn under the trees. There is also a buffet area for the reception if the reception is held there. The family has a fairly large parking lot that can accommodate about 20 cars, but there is more parking available off site at the State Farm office 1/2 a block away, (and you won't get blocked in). The household has a kitchen available for making coffee and warming up foods. Also there is a photography room inside the house for the wedding party. A single bathroom is shared by the household and the wedding guests, so that can get a little complicated. Barbara Raspberry, the owner, can preside over the wedding if you need an official. She presided this wedding and had a fun and not stuffy approach. At $150 for a basic wedding ($100 with military discount), this can be a great way to get married in a casual setting without incurring a ton of debt as you get started on your new life!

We absolutely adored the venue, and our guests did too! Thank you Emma for all your help during rehearsal and during the event to ensure all the equipment and everything was working flawlessly. We loved it and appreciate all the memories. We choose this chapel for its incredible beauty, all inclusivity equipment, beautiful location and budget. We wanted to spend less time on things like decor and setting up tables/av, and more time with our loved ones. Best pros which saved us a ton of time and funds. 1) No decor needed - the chapel is already gorgeous, and so is the exterior if you want some photos/videos 2) Equipment included - mics, av, stand, chairs, check-in tables, table cloths, brooms, changing rooms, table cloths, etc. 3) Amazing floor space and acoustics: We had lots of bollywood style dancing and performances so floor space and acoustics were important! 4) Serene - In the middle of a state park (perfect for fall, winter or summer) Free parking for all your guests! 5) Someone on sight to help ensure things run smoothly (note, this is a staff member, and not a wedding coordinator or technician) 6) Fits up to 200+ people do you don't have to compromise on the guestlist. We only had around 80 max to keep it intimate as we wanted to interact with everyone. 7) Affordable price - We would probably not have had a wedding if venue prices were any higher! Honestly this is a great deal. Cons: - Strict no food policy, though the cafeteria is right. I wish they allowed us to at least serve cake/dessert outside within the time frame as it's a cultural tradition. We brought water bottles for our guests. Instead of a traditional ceremony followed by reception, we had an intimate party the day prior at our apartment lounge with food. Cost as of 10/2019 is $1400 for summer-Oct, and $1100 for winter months. $250 deposit. This was one of the best prices when we were shopping around. Alternatives were community centers but they required us to do all the setup and decor, which we didn't want to burden our loved ones with. Absolutely Recommend for any couple who wants a BEAUTIFUL wedding (and on a budget!).

Pam Vaughn, the events coordinator there was a pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating to us regarding our budget and the whole thing went off pretty seamlessly. A couple of perks about Bastyr: - The chapel is huge and gorgeous - if you like traditional European style churches, you will love their chapel! - They've started doing receptions there also and the food is top notch. They grow a lot of things locally on their grounds and supplement by buying things locally, so everything is excellect quality. We had a chicken dish and their vegetarian lasagna and had nothing but glowing reviews from all of our guests. - Compared to a lot of places I priced out, they are very affordable. Having a wedding officiating business as well, I will definitely be referring Bastyr to my brides.
