I am giving five stars for the Fairhope Burger Company, though the establishment itself is clean, inviting and a great place to sit and watch any game playing. Lots of space for everyone, especially a big group. Back to the burger company... let's just say that the menu for their fresh Waygu burgers is impressive. Next time. Finally, finally, finally, a place I can take my kids. This is the perfect spot for 30 somethings with young children, who want a beer, and to eat something they didn't have to cook themselves. If you are looking for a quiet dining place devoid of children then go somewhere else. If you are looking for a place where you don't have to worry about being judged for your kid, hey, you found your place. The Mill has a bar with a wide selection of beer, wine, and champagne all on tap. I will say the drinks are a little overpriced but really daddy just wants to drink a beer while my son plays cornhole and my daughter tries to climb everything. There are three restaurants there, OX Kitchen - Great Burgers, The Cereal Killer - Great Brunch Food, Mary Ann's - Great Sandwich. I think the food is a little overpriced for what you get but you didn't have to cook it and your not trying to keep your two year old seated and quite while trying to choke down a meal that you are not getting to enjoy. Also here is to the wait staff. I hope they are all given as much beer to drink as they want at the end of their shift. They somehow manage to hear your order while your try to scream over each other on what they want to eat even though you already know their order and you've told them to be quite. They somehow bring you your food all while dodging small children. They are able do do this all with a smile on their face. I used to love this place. But unfortunately it's gone downhill and I don't really understand what's going on with it now. They used to have a great indoor space with games and a playground for kids, and a great outdoor space with ping pong and corn hole. But when we went the other night, it was completely empty and outside there were dangerous wood pallets stacked up and none of the fun stuff was available. Just turf grass with tables randomly set up. The inside felt empty and cold. I don't know why it went from a great, vibrant fun family-friendly place to an empty, cold, dreary place. Did they get new management? I will say the food at Solly's was great! But the atmosphere was lacking big time. We probably would have stayed longer and had more drinks, but my kids were trying to climb on all the dangerous things and we had to leave. Disappointed. read more

Had a burger last night and with the sound level from screaming kids forcing us outside it was a one and done dining experience. The burger was average but the sterile ambiance was not someplace I would come back to. I looked back at the pictures of the old Windmill Market and miss the charm and hospitality of the merchants that were no longer there. On a high note the kids will love it. read more

I visit Fairhope periodically and was often at a loss concerning where to take our grandchildren to eat and spend some fun time. Since the Mill has been renovated and opened we Have stopped several times. The kids love it, my wife likes the several food options and ice cream, and I love the craft beer selection. Good design, nice open concept. Food is fine. Asked for water for my family after I ordered $40 worth of food and was charged and additional $1.25 for it. It's just a little surprising that they would risk customers having a negative experience over water. read more
