I think the three star review sums it up. It's technically a decent amount of food by volume for the price. I mean, I left full. None of the food is remarkable. What you are paying for is the show of the courses on the little burner at your table of four, but you have to cook all of your own entrees. I think I would prefer to take the money I spent and go to one of smaller, better food experiences around in south Jersey and especially Philly. There are just so many. While all of the food is generally underwhelming, I will say that we really appreciated the friendly and attentive servers and waiters. They were a heck of a lot of fun and engaged in a lot of playful banter and did a great job explaining how melting pot works for us newbies. The entire meal took about two hours and forty five minutes for our party of eight to conclude. The concept provided an interactive activity during dinner four our party of eight, so that was kind of neat. I think everyone should try it once so they can decide for themselves, but not a huge fan. read more

You're gonna drive by and think it's closed. The place was packed though. You can't see in the windows and parking is in the back. When did the melting pot become so romantic? It's been a long time since I ate at one of these. It was me, my bestie and my wife. Most things are set up for two people. All I remember from previous visits was fondue. That's just the beginning now. It's almost like a Korean hot pot. You cook your own meats for second course. Luckily our waitress was awesome and helped guide us through it. The cheese and chocolate fondue are rich and tasty. The entree fondue is a hard pass. While the melting pot is a unique concept fit for dates or other meals that benefit from conversation facilitation, the actual food is not that great. Furthermore, the prices of raw materials that you cook yourself is astronomical. Cheese and chocolate are $28 each for the table, and come with bread, fruit, mini cakes, etc. Fine. The entree fondue, which is a $35 per person charge features a bland broth (like coq au vin) which you boil skewers of steak and other ingredients in. It's like hot pot or shabu shabu but made worse. On a positive note, the wedge salad was tasty and sizable! This was priced more reasonably, at $8. Servers came around every so often and provided helpful advice on how to cook food. read more

I have been to this location three times and I will say there are TWO things that can make or break your experience: 1. The people you're with 2. Your server The first time I came here it was right after they had reopened due to the Covid closures and our server was so fun it truly made the experience. The second time we came, my husband and I had an amazing quiet little private booth, but we got seated next to a couple having a blind date and the two of us ended up being so entranced in ear hustling their conversations, we didn't even care about anything else. This past time, we opted for a double date with my sister and brother in law. It was surprisingly busy for a Sunday evening, but we were seated within ten minutes of our reservation time. I started with the sunrise sangria, while others got soft drinks. My brother in law asked for a Crown and Coke and was informed they didn't have Crown Royal, so he went with a Jack and Coke. No biggie. For our cheese course we did the fiesta and Quattro formaggio. Pro tip: go with another couple and get a double burner table so you can have options. Also, GET THE FRIES! The cheese dippers are always lackluster in my opinion, but adding on the fries really makes it. While we did get salad because it came with our "Big Night Out" option, you could totally skip this step so you can save room for everything else. As someone who loves to cook, once all of our entree protein arrived I got to work. We did the mojo cooking style and the bourguignon, which is basically hot oil perfect for frying. If you choose the oil option you get tempura batter and tempura flakes. So I collected all of the shrimp from everyone and made us fried shrimp. Then I made juicy tempura battered chicken nuggets. Our server, Chelsea, came over, saw what I was doing, and was amazed. She asked me to explain how I did it and suggested I snap some pics ( so I did!). This broke the ice and made the experience better. I love interacting with my server at Melting Pot, especially since they spend a lot of time stirring cheeses and mixing chocolate blends. The dipping sauces are another part of the experience I love. The remoulade is my absolute favorite. When it came time for chocolate, I did my usual peanut butter s'moreo, which is s'mores with PB and Oreo crumbs added. You can blame my server I had in April of 2021 who taught me I could make my own chocolate flavor. The mix ins for the chocolate also could use some help. I feel like there are definitely better culinary options for some of the mix ins, but overall it's a good experience and everyone should try it at least once! Also, shout out to Chelsea! read more

Me and my fiancée went here for a Valentine's Day/anniversary dinner. We've been here a couple times before and always enjoyed it, so I wanted to give my take on the place. Our server Jill D. was very nice, personable and professional. She made sure she got back to us in a timely manner, I knew the restaurant was busy so I could understand why it took her a little time. Her co-worker, Nick, also helped out when he was nearby if we needed anything. The service was amazing overall. We ordered the Valentine's special they had at the time, and everything was absolutely delicious. The cheese was amazing and the salads were nice and fresh. You get to pick a broth you want to cook your protein along with your dipping sauces. My fiancée really loves the Green Goddess dipping sauce for her vegetables. Then we were served dark, chocolate, fondue for dessert, and it came with fresh fruit and pastries for dipping. The only thing I could say is, it is a little on the pricey side. But you get 4 courses for the price, and you get to choose what you want for those courses. So it's customizable every time you go. We definitely will come back here again for a nice dinner. If you're looking for a nice fine dining dinner for two or more, I definitely recommend The Melting Pot. It's well worth it. read more

Awwwww .... This was one of my favorite restaurants many many many years ago. Yesterday my husband and I decided to stop by , for old times sake. The restaurant was practically empty, that broke my heart. We were seated in an area that was once considered "lovers lane." Our server, Lilly, was personable. We initially ordered the BFFF Wednesday special , until we realized for a $1 more we could have our usual "Big Night Out" meal. We started off with the cheese fondue, perfectly prepared by Lilly but ... now there serve the salad along with the cheese course but the table is not large enough to enjoy both at the same time. (Melting pot please consider serving each course separately... like you used to do) The meal was tasty (I absolutely love the mushrooms stuffed with the green goddess ) but it was way too much food for us to eat, it doesn't look filling but trust me it is. We cooked our entrees and boxed it to go. We were stuffed and should not have gotten the flaming turtle fondue but it's soooo good I had to have it... and it was the highlight of the meal. We came here for my daughter's birthday dinner. While we were ordering, I asked if we were able to have more meat if we finished this plate. The server said yes. A meal for 2 that included cheese fondue, salad, about 8 ounces of meat, and chocolate fondue was $113. Two of our party had seconds of the meat, which was about another 8 ounces. When the bill came, we were charged an extra $70!!! When we inquired, the server said, oh, you thought it was free? She went and got the manager. I explained what happened and she said well, nothing is free. I reiterated that I had asked and was not told that it was an extra charge, she said well you ate it didn't you? I said we wouldn't have ordered it if we knew it was an upcharge. She again said well you ate it. She said she would take one meal ($35) off, but she shouldn't even be doing that. I could see there was no point arguing further so I agreed. This manager needs to go back to management 101 class. The server made a mistake not telling us about the huge upcharge for ordering 8 more ounces of meat. The manager then upped the mistake ante by arguing with and belittling the customer. So, instead of 4 future customers, she lost 4 customers as well as all the people I will tell this story to. It probably cost the restaurant $10 for that meat. She could have made it right, but now they've lost hundreds in potential revenue. read more

More than a little confusing to order but once we figured that out, the food aspect was good. Service was another story. Absolutely deplorable. There were 5 of us and he kept bringing service for 4. Ooops I'll be right back and we'd end up flagging down another server for the plate. Took over a half hour for a glass of wine after ordering and even then it was wrong. Salad came and we had ordered ranch on one. 20 minutes and a different server to get some ranch. A three hour meal could have been done in an hour and a half with the correct server. Not impressed. My husband and I came to the Maple Shade Melting Pot for a date night. It was nice evening to spend time together and who doesn't love dipping food into hot cheese?!? We decided on one of their 4 course options (can't remember what it's called) and a charcuterie board. The 4 course meal was wonderful and included a salad, appetizer, entree and dessert. My husband ordered the Caesar salad and I got the California salad and we decided on the Wisconsin cheddar fondue for apps. For dinner we did the create your own- my husband got the chicken, steak and duck while I chose the filet mignon, shrimp and chicken. For dessert we chose the s'mores. I forgot to get pics of our food, but got one of us Overall it was a great date night and the melting pot is always a good time. I do not recommend the charcuterie board, it was underwhelming. We went to The melting pot our first time yesterday and had a fabulous experience. Our server Brenton was very knowledgeable of the food and process making it easy and relaxing to order. His recommendations and pairings were spot on based on asking our preferences. The cheese, which he mixes to melt in front of you while he explains, is incredible with dipping in the pretzel bread. Delicious, just watch out you don't over stuff yourself because next up is fresh quality meats, salmon,shrimp or chicken. It is also fun to cook it yourself. We got the most expensive thing on the menu, which was the big night out with the lobster tail! Overall all the food was not very good. Especially the entrée. The desert was probably the best part, but it was just a basic chocolate sauce with fruits and other sweets to dip in. I honestly would not come back here. It is fine if you have maybe kids and want to do something special for a birthday but for the price the food was really not good at all. I really did not like anything that I ate here. read more

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. The service was ok, but the the food has changed. The teriyaki sirloin was the only good meat. The shrimp tasted like a cheap frozen brand and the pork had a weird gritty taste. We always get the bourguignonne. This time it was thicker and very greasy. They only give one type of coating and it's thick and flavorless. I hope as things get back to normal the food will go back to the way it was. We will not return for awhile. read more

For many people, Mother's Day is an extremely painful day. People struggle with fertility, or have recently lost a mother, grandmother, or child. What a lovely experience I had here for my boyfriends birthday. His first time dining here and my second time to this location as I've gone to the one in King of Prussia a numerous amount of times as well as the location in Myrtle Beach too. The server was kind of boring I'm not going to lie but she didn't miss a beat and all of the dishes came to the table beautifully so I honestly have no complaints at all around service, just jazz it up a bit and make the experience more fun and interactive. We pretty much ordered the exact same thing with the CYO Big Night Out Fondue Entrée. All the proteins came out fresh and cooked nicely with our cooking styles. We asked for two burners when booking the reservation so that we could try more than one style of cooking so I was happy to see that they followed the instructions on that. I was really blown away by the sunshine sangria; I've had a lot of sangrias in my time but I don't think I've ever had one as good as I did here at the Melting Pot I mean WOW! The drink made my night and my boyfriend was in his glory as this was his first time. They added French fries to the menu (I'm not sure how long ago) but I think it was a really nice addition to the menu and goes nicely with the cheese. I've always love the Melting Pot and have been a long time customer with them so of course I'll be back and I'll be looking forward to any other surprises they have to come in the future! This is what was delivered for dipping in the fondue cheese. There was barely anything on the plate and it gets served on a moldy piece of wood that smells like mildew and then makes the food taste like that. It was horrible. The place was filled with smoke making it hard to breathe. They have only 2 pots for 6 people which makes it hard to even eat or cook your food. The service was so slow and I'm in shock that this was something that was even considered to be served to a customer. It's absolutely disgusting, there is no food, service is horrible, and I will not be back. read more

It wasn't bad. The cheese fondue is really the best. The Caesar salad is good as well. The desert fondue is good but never enough to use the chocolate up. They won't substitute anything you're allergic to for dipping. I gave this place 3 stars due to their crappy drinks. The margarita was so latent with syrup it was impossible to drink and I got the watermelon cooler drink (tastes like sprite remix) tastes okay, it was flat in a couple minutes and not mixed. It was 21 for those two drinks. We didn't even really drink them and left them at the end of the table and was never asked if there was a problem with our drinks. Which I would of let them know how nasty they were. Also beware of the automatic tip. They are having you tip off the total plus tax. Cheese cake factory was sued for this. Waitress was very nice besides the lack of care about the customary drink thing. read more

Just got home and here is the story. New Years Eve, we arrive at 7:15 and didn't get done til 9:30 causing us to cancel our next reservations that were at 9:15. Waitress was nice but the first time she approached the table she was out of breath. Busy night I get it. Told her to take a breath and we struck a conversation since I work in the food business figuring it would give her a chance to get a breath. We hardly saw her through the course of the meal. It was obvious her tables were scattered all over. Things took FOREVER. And guys, they don't cook your food. Lol. It was a set menu so all the raw food was already prepped. Took 10-15 minutes to get greeted. Another 10 plus minutes for drinks. Asked for straws. They came after dinner was served. About 30 minutes to get food. 10 minutes once done our meal for her to arrive. That wasn't bad. But then another 15 minutes for dessert. We asked for water and never got it. When we asked for it. She actually said "ok let me Write that down". You need to write that down? Really? And then another 15 minutes to get the check. Our other reservations were for 9:15. Had to cancel them and just went home. The food was ok. Not worth the $86 per person they charged. The only great thing about the meal was the dessert. So the bill came to $200. Great service cause of the holiday would have gotten her 25% tip or $50, average service would have gotten her 15% or $30. Tonight she got 10% or $20. A $30 difference. What a shame. Because of the service and just ok food for such a steep price, definitely won't be back ever. Poor service, lack luster food and having to cancel the rest of our plans made for one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. So much more I could have done with that money. read more

Went here on Christmas Eve. This was my first time going and my boyfriend has been there several times before. Our server was very pleasant and very festive. We ended up having a seat towards the back. Almost to ourselves. It did feel like the air conditioning kept coming on as we had to sit there with our coats on. We did the big night out menu. Our first course was the cheese fondue. We went with the spinach and artichoke. It was good. However the bread seemed very stale. For the salad, I went with the California and my boyfriend went with the strawberry pecan. They were both very similar. But both very good. Light and refreshing on the palate. For the main entree we went with the Coq Au Vin cooking style. I think we should have went with the cast iron grill. As the cooking style seemed very bland. Basically it tasted like boiled meat with no flavor. Finally, for the dessert we went with the s'mores fondue. All of the dippers were very good. Especially the Oreo covered marshmallow. As we were leaving my boyfriend saw a sign that you could buy the garlic and wine seasoning. That made him remember the last time he was at a melting pot that they had that on the table that you could add. We did not have that on the table. We were so excited to find out there was another Melting Pot in NJ after the one in AC closed. It was very easy to make a reservation, and we got seated right away. They were busy but not packed. My husband and I came for date night and got seated in the most romantic table in this dark nook. The service was fantastic! She explained everything on the menu and kept checking on us. All drinks and food came out in a timely manner. Let me just say the Raspberry Limoncello martini is amazing and tastes like a jolly rancher. My husband is an Old Fashion snob, and he said it was very good. The food was delicious! The Caesar salad was so good with those parmesan crusted pine nuts. I wasn't a huge fan of the Wisconsin cheddar and would definitely get a different cheese next time but the bread so soft and cheesy so I was good with it. I got the chicken potstickers, shrimp, teriyaki steak, and duck and let me just say every single thing was absolutely amazing. Those potstickers mmm I could eat a whole plate of them. My husband got steak, chicken, shrimp, and salmon and said all was also good. For dessert we got the original and it was all really good but I was so stuffed at that point. Went out for a night out with the family. Long story short, the food was not good and overpriced. Cheese Fondu pot was a fun experience but not $53 worth for 4 people. We got the Mojo style meal and it was extremely salty, and I love salt. It was just basically boiled meats and seafood. The Pot Stickers were barely stuffed and flavorless. Do not order the vegetable platter, definitely not worth the price tag. Very disappointed with the food considering the price. Will not be back. Our server was great though. Ambiance was ok.
