It's a local spot and a place I go to at least once a month for the past 7 years. I always go for the lamb gyro plate or chicken kebab. I'm not the biggest fan of their hummus, but I enjoy how they cook their meat and rice, and the side of charred tomato and jalapeño with the plate. Everything here is 'not bad' to 'pretty good'. This place is great if you have a kabob or a meditteranean food craving. I came because they had a tri-tip shwarma which I've never seen anywhere else. Plus, they make their gyro with 100% lamb meat. I've seen some places that do a mix of lamb and beef for their gyro so I appreciated their decisions. Their tri tip shwarma was super bomb! Never had anything like it before, flavors were good. Gyro meat was also good, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I got plates for both of my meats and the plates were okay. The portions were plentiful, the salad was okay (I would have preferred the salad with greens instead of just cucumber and tomato). And it also comes with grilled pepper and tomato. We are at beginning of 710 freeway and there is good size shopping center at this location but outside of this shopping center there is ocean of railroad yards, army base and industrial malls nothing else. But this place stands out like an oasis in desert . Interior : it got Rustic look with super clean. With funky table tops . Exterior: ordinary but exotic for the area. Staff .: family business. Although they just lost a loved one they are there to serve you and put food on their table. Music: you would use some improvement. Lots of vegan options. Pets slowed on leash. This place is so good! I always get it delivered to work at least 2x a month. Every time i do I get the chicken kebab plate or mix plate. It's literally always amazing.! Came here for lunch and I should've honestly listened to the other reviews saying it was bad. The rice, pita bread, and the hummus was the only thing I was able to eat. I ordered the chicken breast plate and a "sampler hummus". Total came out to about $16. I didn't mind the price, but once i got my order, they forgot the hummus. I had to go back into the restaurant and ask for the hummus i paid for. The guy was really nice and gave me a small size of the hummus (which usually they charge for). I didn't mind going back and asking for my hummus, that's not the reason for the stars. Under the pita bread there were 4 small pieces of chicken. Didn't think much of it, i was still willing to give this place a try. As I continued eating the chicken started to have a weird sour taste to it and I checked the chicken and part of it was grey and looked chewy. It smelled bad! Like if the chicken was starting to go bad. This is why I give them 2 stars. I really wanted to like this place but will not be going back. read more

Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? You've got some fantastically friendly folks working at The Mediterranean Kitchen, and I was well taken care of start to finish. I needed to get a bit of work done during lunch, and the atmosphere was perfectly conducive even to a call in the corner while working and eating. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The Combo Kebab Plate is an absolute beast, so I wasn't surprised at the $18.95 price tag. I'm pretty sure that's close to the highest I've paid for a combo kebab anywhere, but given the portion here it really wasn't unreasonable. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? All three meats here were excellent, with particular kudos to the buttery smooth and flavorful chicken. The peppers kicked in the heat, and my only qualm was that the rice didn't have that buttery flavor that you find elsewhere. Additionally, I've historically found that combo kebabs come with hummus, and I would have preferred that to the vegetable salad that I got on the side although that could have been user error. Hungry and tired of eating at the same, boring places day in and day out, I Yelped "Mediterranean food" while driving on the freeway near the city of Commerce, Ca Thank goodness that one of the first locations offering this type of food was the Mediterranean Kitchen in the city of Commerce. Upon entering location, I immediately noticed the "A" rating on the window and how clean & roomy the entire restaurant was from the seating area to the back of the kitchen Within fifteen seconds of entering location we were greeted by a young man (forgive me for forgetting your name) who was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable of all iems on the menu and extremely nice. We glanced at the large menu posted on large signs on one side of the room and decided on what my family and I were going to have for lunch. My nine year old daughter is a bit picky but this young man advised us that he would make a special plate for my daughter consisting of chicken, rice and salad as they did not have a child's menu. He did not have to do this but he did it anyway. THANK YOU! After requesting several ingredient substitutions (which we were advised wad no problem) we ordered our food and took our seats While waiting, we inquired if this was a family owned business. The young man advised us that he is a full time student and son of the owners of the restaurant. He helps the family business on the weekends. He further added that his mom and dad own the restaurant and do all the cooking. We waited approx ten to fifteen minutes for our food to be delivered to our table. No problem on our end as we knew all food was being prepared fresh. When our food was finally delivered to our table, we were blown away at the aroma and how appealing everything looked (Yelp & IG pic opportunities for sure!) One taste of our dishes and my family and I knew that we were in for a truly enjoyable eating experience. Everything was sooo fresh, cooked to perfection and the potions were huge. The chicken kabob with basmati rice and cucumber/yogurt dip and the veggie kabob meals were AWESOME!!! I mean REALLY GOOD!!! I was like, "WOW". I honestly could not get enough of my food. While my family and I ate our lunch, employees came by twice to make sure we were ok and/or if we needed anything from the kitchen. GREAT SERVICE! This was TRULY a GREAT eating experience.
