I went in two days ago for a basic oil change and rock chip repair. The tech, who was also the…read moremanager, insisted that I needed to have $1,000 worth of work performed on my car...which is a lot for a Subaru Outback that's only three years old. I said yes to some of the repairs, but when I tried to say no to others (a new battery, for example), the tech pressured me into it, saying that my car was most likely going to break down and leave me stranded if I didn't replace the battery ASAP. Feeling uncomfortable and stuck, I paid for it all. Now, two days later, my air bag light is on. I called the shop to ask about it, finding the timeline to be a little funny (since they'd just worked on my car two days prior and made no mention of an airbag issue). I spoke to the same tech/manager, who claimed it couldn't have possibly been related to the services they performed. Fine. It is what it is. But, since I had him on the phone, I told him how I felt frustrated, overcharged and taken advantage of two days prior. He condescendingly told me that I "was a big girl" and "should learn how to say no." Even though I'd told him "no" just the other day! He then had the audacity to backtrack and tell me how he respects women and treats every customer equally. But, if the tech/manager truly respected women, he would've listened to my concerns and not told me to be a "big girl" and learn how to say "no." True respect would've been to accept my initial "no" and move on. He apologized, but it was more of a "sorry you feel that way" apology, not a genuine "how can we make this right" or "how can we do better next time" apology. The airbag isn't even why I'm upset--I'm appalled by the tech's sexist remarks and the fact that I was pressured to buy a battery I didn't want--after I'd said no. Update: I spoke to a gentleman at the Jiffy Lube's corporate office. He expressed genuine concern and stated that he will personally visit this Jiffy Lube location to offer training/guidance to this tech/manager. While I am still dissatisfied with how I was treated at this particular location, I do feel that Jiffy Lube corporate did their best to make this situation right.

That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.

About 50 miles away from salt lake we broke down and had to remove our hub in the middle of nowhere. We walked into this shop with hub in hand and were immediately taken care of, the shop was slammed but they made time to help us out and get us back on the road. As someone who works on their own vehicles and doesn't like trusting mechanics if I was local I would take any of my vehicles to this shop in a heart beat. I cannot Recommend this shop enough. They know their stuff and do quality work 11/10 would recommend!

They changed the oil, checked my wiper blades, checked the filters, and put air in my tires. The only thing I wish I knew was they did not have as many options for oil for my vehicle. Last week I brought my 2009 Buick Enclave to Take 5 for a simple fluid top-off. While I was there,…read moreI was explicitly told by their staff that they accidentally put windshield wiper fluid into my radiator. Immediately after leaving, my vehicle began having serious issues. It would not shift into higher gears, the RPMs were extremely high, and the car began shuddering as if it was about to break down. I parked the vehicle to avoid further damage. A few days later, when my husband started the car, it began blowing white smoke, and the same shifting and shuddering issues occurred again -- symptoms that clearly indicate a major mechanical problem that did not exist prior to this visit. When we called Take 5, the manager said he would review the video footage and call us back. He later claimed that they had only added a quart of oil and did nothing else. When I called back, the employee who originally helped me repeated the same statement and denied remembering the incident -- despite the fact that their staff were the ones who originally told me about the windshield washer fluid mistake. When my husband went in person to review the footage, Take 5 admitted they had watched the wrong video and then finally acknowledged that windshield wiper fluid was, in fact, put into the radiator. Despite this admission, they refused to take any responsibility whatsoever -- no repair assistance, no remediation, nothing. We were not asking for anything unreasonable -- only help getting the vehicle back into running condition after their acknowledged mistake. Instead, we were met with denial, misinformation, and ultimately a complete refusal to help. This experience has left us with a vehicle that is potentially severely damaged due to negligence, and a company that chose to avoid accountability rather than do the right thing. I would strongly caution anyone considering Take 5 to think twice before trusting them with their vehicle.

All the eletrical in our car went out we assumed we needed a battery which is something we change out every few years because Vegas summers are brutal. We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services.
