The staff were really welcoming, walked me through my options in a way that actually made sense, and they worked fast. The cost wasn't too bad and I'm glad I ended up here. The only downside was they couldn't actually change my oil because my regular shop had done something to the oil plug and Take 5 would've risked damaging it if they tried. They were honest about it, showed me what they were talking about, and didn't push anything unnecessary. I had them do everything else, then went back to my usual place for the actual oil change. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. He broke it to me that the car required more repairs than it was worth, and that my current shop was not doing a good job at maintaining my car. Maybe he felt bad for me, maybe he wanted to make a show of good faith, but he didn't even charge me for the diagnostic in that instance. I ended up selling that car for scrap and eventually buying a new car. I brought the new car in for a pre-purchase inspection and WOW, Jessy and his team really showed their true colors on how thorough they are! They checked absolutely everything. They even checked the cabin air filter because he told me that a rodent had built a nest in it. They found things that other shops had missed. Is there such a thing as being too thorough? Jessy might be! But I'd rather have my auto shop be extremely thorough and triple check everything rather than be sloppy and miss things. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is obvious, right down to how they require appointments for their shop. They want to make sure that every single car gets the attention it needs. I can't recommend Mike Palmer enough and even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, I will make the trek to come back here for my auto repairs and recommend them to all my friends. Jessy is a truly honest mechanic who just wants to help you do your best to maintain your car. How do I know? They're not trying to make money nickel and diming you on easy fixes. There is no where else to wait but outside and nowhere to sit outside. So I stood outside trying to find some sun, because there was a cold wind blowing. Finally they said the problem was trying to get the oil filter off the car that came in before me. It was stuck, and they couldn't get it off, and they were trying, and trying, and trying. I said "Does it take everyone here to try and get the oil filter off" Isn't there someone that can service my car while the other guys get the stuck oil filter off the other car. (How many men does it take to get an oil filter off?) Reluctantly, they had someone help me. I didn't feel I got the best service I paid for. They didn't try to upsell me any items. I had to ask for an air filter, and after looking, they said they didn't have any in stock, and to go to AutoZone and pick one up. They didn't go through the stats with me either. I was interested in those because I just bought a used car, and I would have liked to know if they found any problems under the carriage. After a couple of weeks driving my car, I checked the oil, and they had over filled it! I know that's not a good thing for your engine. Not Happy.

Took our daughter's car in for a loud clunking sound which we thought was a shock. They didn't…read moredrive the car to listen to the sound and the tech claimed that we needed new control arms and tie rod ends. $1000 later and problem was not fixed. They finally drove the car and diagnosed as a shock problem! Replaced the shock mount ($60) for free and figured that was good. No explanation or apology for the initial mis-diagnosis, and unnecessary repairs until pressed by me. Manager said he felt "good" about this and blamed me for accepting the original diagnosis (of course I am not a mechanic). To their credit, the salesman was nice and allowed me to source the parts to fix the control arms ($152 for the kit (both sides)), vs what they wanted to charge me for parts ($900). Would not recommend this store for anything other than a tire repair.
