This was the first repair that was needed outside of my warranty and outside of VW. These guys were honest and straightforward about what was wrong and the cost and the recommendations they provided. They were responsive and communicated to me about the timeline in which it would be completed, when the part was delayed a day, they made sure I knew and I never had to call them for an update. Stress of a broken down car was as minimal as it could be and I will definitely return as the need arises. Thanks so much!!!

That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.

My mechanic was skilled and quick, it only took him just a few minutes to change everything out and I was set to go. Price was fair and I'm happy with the service and the techs they sent who were courteous and friendly. I've added them as a contact for future repairs, so I'm recommending them here for anyone else that needs auto servicing.

All the eletrical in our car went out we assumed we needed a battery which is something we change out every few years because Vegas summers are brutal. We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. Thank you for the best auto repair service we have hands down ever had!

Jessy was so kind and communicative. He broke it to me that the car required more repairs than it was worth, and that my current shop was not doing a good job at maintaining my car. Maybe he felt bad for me, maybe he wanted to make a show of good faith, but he didn't even charge me for the diagnostic in that instance. I ended up selling that car for scrap and eventually buying a new car. I brought the new car in for a pre-purchase inspection and WOW, Jessy and his team really showed their true colors on how thorough they are! They checked absolutely everything. They even checked the cabin air filter because he told me that a rodent had built a nest in it. They found things that other shops had missed. Is there such a thing as being too thorough? Jessy might be! But I'd rather have my auto shop be extremely thorough and triple check everything rather than be sloppy and miss things. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is obvious, right down to how they require appointments for their shop. They want to make sure that every single car gets the attention it needs. I can't recommend Mike Palmer enough and even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, I will make the trek to come back here for my auto repairs and recommend them to all my friends. Jessy is a truly honest mechanic who just wants to help you do your best to maintain your car. How do I know? They're not trying to make money nickel and diming you on easy fixes. He could have fixed the cabin air filter for me without asking and taken the easy win but instead he said, that's an easy fix and I easily figured out how to replace it on my own. He wasn't bothered by the fact that I wanted to change my own oil either. Jessy is your true ally in keeping your car running in tip top condition the best way possible.

The tech, who was also the…read moremanager, insisted that I needed to have $1,000 worth of work performed on my car...which is a lot for a Subaru Outback that's only three years old. I said yes to some of the repairs, but when I tried to say no to others (a new battery, for example), the tech pressured me into it, saying that my car was most likely going to break down and leave me stranded if I didn't replace the battery ASAP. Feeling uncomfortable and stuck, I paid for it all. Now, two days later, my air bag light is on. I called the shop to ask about it, finding the timeline to be a little funny (since they'd just worked on my car two days prior and made no mention of an airbag issue). I spoke to the same tech/manager, who claimed it couldn't have possibly been related to the services they performed. Fine. It is what it is. But, since I had him on the phone, I told him how I felt frustrated, overcharged and taken advantage of two days prior. He condescendingly told me that I "was a big girl" and "should learn how to say no." Even though I'd told him "no" just the other day! He then had the audacity to backtrack and tell me how he respects women and treats every customer equally. But, if the tech/manager truly respected women, he would've listened to my concerns and not told me to be a "big girl" and learn how to say "no." True respect would've been to accept my initial "no" and move on. He apologized, but it was more of a "sorry you feel that way" apology, not a genuine "how can we make this right" or "how can we do better next time" apology. The airbag isn't even why I'm upset--I'm appalled by the tech's sexist remarks and the fact that I was pressured to buy a battery I didn't want--after I'd said no. Update: I spoke to a gentleman at the Jiffy Lube's corporate office. He expressed genuine concern and stated that he will personally visit this Jiffy Lube location to offer training/guidance to this tech/manager. While I am still dissatisfied with how I was treated at this particular location, I do feel that Jiffy Lube corporate did their best to make this situation right.
