I love this yoga studio so much! The instructors are all phenomenal and they each have their own style of teaching and their own vibe. The classes are versatile and there is something for everyone. I usually leave here feeling mentally recharged and drenched in sweat. Don't be afraid to come and check it out. I was a little hesitant at first because I hate trying new places by myself but we are always our own roadblock. You won't regret it, try a class and don't be surprised if you walk out with a membership like I did!

Great community, lovely instructors, and a variety of classes. Hot yoga, mat Pilates, inferno pump, infernal mat Pilates, and more! I'm a morning persons so I love the 5:30 am classes but they have a range until 7 pm! They provide the weights, bands, sliders, and blocks. Just bring your mat and a towel!

I have been coming here for almost a year now and I have been loving it! All of the instructors are well-experience, kind, and motivating. One thing that always surprises me is how intentional they are about remembering our names. I highly recommend joining The Mat community.

Crystal, Joselyn, Britt, Jazz, Jack, Melina, Mary! All amazing. Positive and encouraging team. Comfortable and vibrating environment for the community and people who come here. Not only are you strengthening your body and breaking a sweat. All of the instructors incorporate mental health awareness. The Mat is self care at its finest!

I've been coming to this studio for about a year now and when I say this reignited my passion for working out! I moved to the area about two years and was apprehensive on trying a new workout studio after taking classes at a Club Pilates in the area however after taking my first class at The Mat that fear quickly disappeared. Joselyn and Crstyal are super kind and offer some of the best classes i've ever taken! They offer a variety of different class styles with different instructors as well who are ALL wonderful at what they do! Everyone has their own style and music preferences which is amazing because there is a class for everyone! My go-to instructors are Emily, Joselyn, Crystal, Brittany and Mary although I have tried everyone and they are amazing those instructors just have class times that work best with my schedule! The pricing at this studio is amazing, it's not overpriced like most studios and their parking is super accessible! They offer a variety of options from $28 drop ins to class pack to memberships. The studio itself is so cute and welcoming, Immediately when you walk in the instructor is there to check you in. There are cubbies as well where we are able to place our belongs before heading into the heated space to begin class. There is a bathroom in the studio that is stocked with deodorant as well as pads for emergencies which eases my mind when it's that time of the month. Overall I know I have found a safe community to be able to move my body again. I would and have DEFINITELY recommend this studio to anyone interested!

Mom of four with a high demand job, serious about blowing off steam, releasing stress, staying fit, and prioritizing my physical and mental health. The Mat is my sanctuary, it's where I go for some "me" time and for amazing workouts. The instructors are awesome, great energy, serious about their practice, and keep classes fun! They have a great variety of class types and times, and even change up the classes with new moves and use of different equipment. The studio is very professional (no cancelled classes, they start and end on time, etc.) and is super clean! I highly recommend joining this studio, life changing!

After going here consistently for three months I've seen my body and flexibility improve significantly. My body feels more toned and my muscles aren't as tight as they use to be I've tried out more classes with Melina & Britney S and they were absolutely amazing. So happy to have this studio in Vallejo!

She noticed I lifted with my head first instead of my chest and that was what was causing my neck to hurt. She is very thoughtful with every member. Compelled enough to take time out of my life and write this review- Trust me I don't want to but I also don't think its fair I'm getting treated int his manner. Wednesday, January 10, 2024: commencement of text messages from "Club Pilates Benicia" from someone named Aaijsha? with the 1855.920.0316 text number.  Sunday, March 2, 2024: I ask for a menu, any grand opening specials & their open date. Said due to open April 6. I ask for the menu. ask me to call when I already confirmed I preferred text messages. I ask for a menu again. He/She asks for "a menu of what? I don't understand what your asking me"I state a membership menu., a brochure of all the membership options; something with all the plans people are able to select from and see the membership options. (very standard & typical for any business newly opening up) marketing material...I asked if that made senseHe/She stated they don't put pricing on brochures because prices are subject to change and asked if he/she was making sense to me.  Sometime in March:They had a couple pop-ups. One got cancelled due to the rain. Thursday, April 28, 2024: I walk into the studio as I see they are open. I finally see a brochure! never mention my experience but glad to get some questions answered. Lovely girl with bangs that helped me. She said they had a promo but never mentioned that there was a deadline. I let her know I will definitely join but needed to consult with my husband as to which plan because the promo was not applicable to the plan that includes being able to work out at other locations as we do travel.  Today, May 3, 2024 8am: I walk in because I called twice and no answer. I try and sign up to take advantage of the promo and they tell me I can't. The computer was down so I had to wait for a re-boot. I inquired about joining that day and being able to still make it to a class because I scanned the cute little QR code on the back of the brochure I got the week prior and it brought me to intro classes only for the following week and I wanted to take a class that morning or day- right away. I've already taken the into class at the Walnut Creek location and my friend is opening up the El Cerrito location but I live here so by default of course. The lady in front advises I come to the 10am class that the owner teaches. Im just exhausted at this point to get an answer, contact. I WANT TO JOIN BUT AFTER AN ENDLESS RUN AROUND & GETTING TREATED LIKE THIS,WOULD YOU SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS & JOIN? I DON'T FEEL VALUED AS A PERSON, CONSUMER, MEMBER, WOMAN, MOTHER NOTHING.

Overall I am pleased with this gym. I've only gone to one other City Sports (Concord -…read moreVeranda...ONE & DONE...NEVER AGAIN ). I've never had any issues with any unpleasant odors at the Vallejo location. Sometimes the stations run out of wipes. I would like more cheat squat machines (maybe 2), a sauna would be nice or maybe some massage tables (like the ones they have at Planet Fitness) but I am pleased because the staff is pleasant and extremely helpful. My personal trainer Araceli is GOD SENT!!! I can't begin to thank her enough for all of the help and support she's given me since I joined back in Aug. 2025. My body has transformed in so many ways. The members are so amazing as well. So many people have helped me with making sure I'm using the machines correctly as well as maintaining correct posture. The reason I took away 2 stars is because of 2 things. 1. I feel like the nutritionist made me all of these promises to get me to sign up for a personal trainer and to get my money. A bunch of promises that were just forgotten about once I was under contract. I had to remind him more than a month after I started my fitness journey that he never sent me the meal plan that he was supposed to create for me when I first joined. Also, he never informed me that even though I signed a contract to have a personal trainer for 3 months I still had to physically come into the gym about a week before I reached 4 months to "cancel" the contract that I signed for 3 months or else I'd be charged monthly. I just felt like I got scammed by a used car salesman. Which then leads me to reason 2. 2. When I was made aware of the process it was 1 or 2 days after the 4th month hit. This was during the government shutdown that my family and I were affected by. I explained to them that I was never made aware of the fact that I was required to come into the gym and cancel the personal trainer contract. I also told them that I was in the gym almost everyday and had plenty of opportunities to cancel it had I known. The staff member that assisted me, Jorge was the best part of my experience...it is because of him, my trainer Araceli, Jeff (the staff member I spoke with when I called corporate) that I actually kept my membership. I explained the situation to Jorge and also informed him about my family and I being affected by the government shutdown. He was so sincere, compassionate and empathetic although he couldn't refund me the payment personally he did reach out the VP of Personal Training for the location. He was absolutely no help whatsoever. He offered me 2 extra "free sessions" for my "inconvenience". I told them at that moment to cancel not only the personal training but also the entire membership and keep the sessions. Needless to say that one payment of $221 was more valuable to him than keeping me as a member who pays $50 monthly lol. Anywho I called corporate the next morning and Jeff placed my refund and reinstated my membership all within 7 minutes into our call (no exaggeration). He apologized for the inconvenience, informed me that he's sorry for what my family and I are going through and he hopes the shutdown would end soon, and made me feel like my membership was appreciated. Overall, to know the people at the top have some compassion or at the least can see the bigger picture makes this a place I can appreciate being apart of.

I joined last year because even though 24 hour fitness was more affordable, the machines and building were just going down hill fast. The last straw was when I had a partially torn meniscus. I couldn't go up and down stairs but I still went to the gym for rehab and for upper body. Their elevator has been out of service for WEEKS. Essentially making it nearly impossible for me to workout if I needed to use the restroom or locker rooms at all. After this I looked through multiple gyms, pricing and their benefits and went with Anytime. I absolutely LOVE that I can go to any of the AF gyms. I've been to a few others and it's been great to hit the gym when I'm traveling or on vacation. Overall Pinole AF is clean, safe and I love that I never really have had to wait for a machine. Yes the gym is small, but it makes up for it by being one of the most hygienic places I've worked out in. Most of the time if someone is on a machine they never truly hog it and I'm able to get my workout done in the time I want. I'm grateful to have found AF Pinole!
