    Pineapple Paloma

We made a trip to Murphy, NC to meet up with someone and check out a few flea markets, and decided to stop by The Mason Bar for lunch before heading back to Tennessee. Parking was super convenient -- we found a spot right on the street out front. Inside, the bar has that classic dive-bar charm: dark wood, cozy lighting, and a small, tucked-away stage in the back that looks perfect for live music. There wasn't any music while we were there, but it seems like a great setup for it. Our server was friendly and checked in on us a few times, which we appreciated. As for food and drinks, I ordered a Pineapple Paloma -- definitely a unique twist on the classic! I actually liked the unexpected smoky tropical flavor, though my husband took one sip and said "Ew, no!" (LOL). We split two sandwiches: the Pesto Grilled Cheese and the Italian Ciabatta. Both were tasty, with crisp bread and fresh, flavorful fillings. The chips were standard, and the side salad was simple -- nothing special, but no complaints either. Overall, it was a solid lunch spot. I'd definitely consider coming back, especially if there's live music next time -- I imagine that would add a great vibe to the experience!

Great local place to grab some grub! There's parking out front along the Main Street area. It's a cute little square with eats and stores. This restaurant is tucked inside of a building where there's a retail store and an ice cream store connected. There's a dining room and bar. They do have a rather large stage area where live music is (check their socials for schedule). You can tell immediately that this is a local place where people gather. The menu offers a variety of choices. We started with a beer on tap and a spicy margarita that was tasty. We ordered the pulled pork and slaw tacos that come with a side (got potato salad), and a Garlicky Joe (sloppy Joe served on two pieces of garlic bread) that came with kettle chips. And yes, just as much as you were intrigued reading that your tastebuds would be equally pleased! It was delicious. Such a great combination. Was ready to order another side of this kettle chips too. Super friendly employees! Again, you get that down home feel and know that this is a local restaurant.

We wandered in to the Mason Bar as we headed into Murphy to shop. We were greeted as we entered, and served fairly quickly with drinks. Our server was efficient, and seemed to be knowledgeable of sensitivities. When the food came, we were shocked to see how tiny the servings are. We literally laughed. My little steak tacos were tucked into small romaine leaves. Check the picture to see the size comparison of the tacos (which should appear larger, since they are in the front of the picture) to the chips behind them on the plate. Unfortunately, the beef was very chewy, though the flavor was good. I also ordered a side of potato salad. This was tasty, and actually a decent size for a side. Hubby ordered a Caesar Salad, which looked like a small side, NOT an entree. (See the pic.) The granddaughter ordered a sandwich. The chips on her plate looked as big as the sandwich! We decided that this must just be bar food. If you're looking for a drink with a small amount of food, this may be just the place for you.

Lavender lemonade was refreshing and tasty! We also enjoyed the Cuban sandwich and the spinach lasagna with salad. The staff here is friendly, helpful, and works hard! They had one server for the restaurant while we were there, and she was helped by the bartender. These gals never stopped running! We highly recommend this friendly and fun location!

The Mason Bar is located in the heart of the downtown Murphy area. Our server was friendly and the food was great. I enjoyed a local brew. Well, I enjoyed a few Carolina Blondes. Our pesto grilled cheese sandwiches were made just right. The bread they use might be a ciabatta and it's not greasy like some can get with too much butter. I liked the added tomato slices, but my step-daughter had hers without. There's ice-cream available by the front entrance and they have a live music schedule and daily specials posted. We were there for lunch, but you could come with some friends for dinner or have some drinks while playing pool and darts. We'll be back as soon as we can get back up to Murphy!

Food was good, not great, but better than bar food. But . . . The Bloody Mary won the prize. The atmosphere is great and the bartender and servers were top notch! If you wanna drinknwith lunch or dinner, this works nicely!

Very cute bar, but called at 6 pm regarding karaoke... they said it began at 7 pm. We had a nice appetizer and asked when karaoke started... they said 7:30 pm. At 8 pm they began and when my husband went up to be put on the list... he was 13th in line. They have their own private group. Disappointed.... I told the waitress and she said she would try to move him up... but it was too late. My husband was done and we felt like it was not a welcoming crowd. So unfortunately... not a high rating for us!

This was a lovely little gem in downtown Murphy! We stopped in with my mom while visiting her and my grandma for the holidays. The place was decked out in beautiful lights, definitely embodied the holiday spirit! We arrived before my mom so we ordered a beer for her and ourselves. They had some good draft options as well as bottled options. They also have cocktails and very yummy shots. I ordered an almond joy shot; it tasted as good as it looked! My boyfriend and I shared a pesto grilled cheese sandwich which was delicious. Their menu includes mason jar salads which sounded really good, along with appetizers and other sandwiches. The people working were also super friendly. They had karaoke scheduled the evening we were there; we ended up going back to my mom's house before it started but I will definitely keep this spot in mind for next time I visit!

The worst food, worst ambience, and the worst service ever. It's a shame to have a place like this in Murphy North Carolina.

My cousin got the same and her husband got The Rachel I think, he said it was good but he's man of very few words, but he had it eaten before I had even eaten a few bites of mine so I assume that meant he really enjoyed it. The drinks were a really good fountain drinks which has been harder and harder to find. The only thing I wasn't blown away by was the sides, we had pasta salad, and Cole slaw and they were fine, nothing bad just wasn't really worth the extra calories. Overall I definitely recommend Red Brick Deli if you want a good sandwich.

I picked Red Brick when we traveled to Murphy because a review stated they had gluten-free wraps…read more Nope! That was the previous owner. Since I am gluten intolerant, options were slim. I chose the Chef Salad, no tomatoes. As you can see by the picture, this salad really needs the color of tomatoes, and is very bland without them. Also, in a deli, I was expecting sliced, rather than shaved, meats. I personally find shaved meats very unappetizing. But because I was hungry, and had ordered it, I ate the salad. I had a side of potato salad, too, which I found more to my liking. Hubby had the Cuban. The waitress said the bread is made locally. He found the sandwich to be adequate. We probably will try other restaurants in the area on future visits.

I made reservations several days ago for my husband and I to have dinner and celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived we were seated quickly however where they seated us felt like we were in a club just to have drinks, very awkward seating, when asked to be moved the waitress told us due to a number of large parties, all they had was a high top, when she saw our reaction she got the manager who basically reiterated the seating choice. We were essentially seated in a bar area, where they have large TV's hung up, so not at all expected. After a rough start the food was good. Recommend the crab cake, Caesar salad, scallops, 14 oz NY strip, potato puree a little odd, very runny, broccolini okay (we shared). Our waitress Desiree was very good, she worked very hard all evening and had a great personality and great customer service. The manager, didn't catch her name, was quite the opposite, not very pleasant at all, lacking customer service skills! Not convinced it is worth the money, this is a one and done for us.
