The concert that my husband and I attended was for the Lord of the Rings performed by the 314 string quartet. They were excellent! We had an amazing time and true to how they have been advertising these events, the stage is set up with numerous LED candles of varying heights and sizes to light the space while natural light are blocked, creating a calm and immersive environment where the main focus is the performance and the music. To be honest, I really loved the idea and they even will not allow people to take out their phones to record or take photos during the performance. They also ask that you not talk during the performance (because people do need a reminder). However, toward the end of it, they will let you have recordings or photos granted that you have your flash off. Of course, this is when some people will start getting rowdy and start to well... people. A prime example were these two individuals in front of our seats loudly "whispering" about not knowing how to zoom their phone camera and how their relative's child is perfect to play the cello while the performance was still in progress. The auditorium itself is an old building but seems to be in good shape with a few spots where I could tell they've been doing some maintenance on. As with any old structures, there will be visible signs of aging such as uneven floors and wall imperfections and this holds true but to me, it added to the general charm of the place. There are no assigned seats. You buy your ticket for a section and if you get there earlier than others you will have more seating options. The acoustic was great! I don't think it would be an issue no matter where you're seated. They do have some staff that will guide you to your general seating location or assist you with your needs. They have restrooms and sell some beverage to enjoy before and during the concert. They also have a small gratuity collection box for the musicians on your way out so don't forget to be geneous!

We came for the Christmas Carol candle concert which was such a treat.There were so many candles and the quartet sounded amazing with the acoustics of the building. It was such a beautiful experience. Some of the chairs were definitely not in the greatest shape and felt a bit wobbly which I can imagine would cause a safety issue if used too much. The widescreen picture is sharp, and the auditorium is wired for Dolby Digital surround sound. The parking map from the Hi-Pointe Theatre website shows multiple parking areas. You can park in the Lindell Bank parking lot after 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, and all day on Sunday.

Seating: several of the seats are broken and the faux leather is starting to fray. That being said, I will continue to patronize them because of the proximity and affordability. I'll forego snacks and comfort for 2 hours AND I'll make sure to get seated before they turn the lights off!

They have a playground for kids to play on before the movie starts which is great so the kids before the movie can let out some energy before the movie starts. There was plenty of room for my car to park and they had a separate screen that showed another movie all together. The concession stand had good choices (typical ballpark food) that are teams only proved which is great since I feel like movie theatres charge an arm and a leg for concessions. It's an older facility but it also feels like you're stepping back in time to appreciate a newly released movie at a drive in just like it used to be back in the 70-80s. Needless to say we had a really fun and great time and loved the fact that it was family friendly. There were some teenagers hanging in the back of the parking lot but nothing too disturbing or obnoxious at all while we were there. We definitely plan on going back!

The inside is very beautiful full of artist murals that are mesmerizing to look at. The venue with the stage was more of an intimate setting. I would say no more then 50 people. I like the industrial look inside with the open ceiling. I really enjoyed the more intimate setting and the variety of seating. You can sit close to the stage, up on the bar area or behind the bar area around circle tables.

For being local community theater, I have to say, this group does some bang up productions. I have…read moreseen a couple of them, and seriously, I am always entertained, the talent is fantastic, the direction is great, the atmosphere of their venues is great, the tickets are cheap, and they ALWAYS pick great, interesting shows to perform. I have seen things performed by this group that no one else is St. Louis is performing. I think that's the mark of an excellent community theater group. I recently saw Nunsense performed by them and it was fantastic! As usual, the talent on stage was great and the direction of the artists was top notch. They are next performing Carousel and even though that's not my favorite musical, I will likely go just because I am usually completely entertained by this group. Also, they hold open auditions for anyone looking to get involved in local theater in the St. Louis area. If I had even a lick of talent, I might consider it...but no one wants to hear me singing...I even avoid karaoke at all costs.
