I appreciate that there is an affordable movie theater in our often-forgotten neighborhood; HOWEVER, they could do better in their snack offerings. The popcorn is frequently stale and the candy choices are extremely limited. On my last visit they turned the lights off and neglected to turn on the stair lighting, so people were tripping to find seats. Seating: several of the seats are broken and the faux leather is starting to fray. That being said, I will continue to patronize them because of the proximity and affordability. I'll forego snacks and comfort for 2 hours AND I'll make sure to get seated before they turn the lights off! read more

Loved the cleanliness of it. Felt safe new renovated space but a couple blocks down looks sketchy. Hope to see more security outside the parking lots. The staff was really friendly. Hope to see it more lively. Hope it doesn't smell like weed or need a metal detector in the future. read more

We came here to watch the little mermaid for a Girl Scout event. We didn't really interact much with the staff because the Girl Scout staff had already taken care of everything for us. However, the theater is very small and intimate. I could not rest my arms on the arm rest because there were literally staples raised up and sticking me each time I laid my arm down! It was the most uncomfortable thing ever. The sound system isn't the best, but it was not the worst at all. I would like to come back and experience it on my own next time to write a more experienced/thorough review. read more

WORST! and when I say worst, I mean WORST theater I have ever been to. 1. Stood in line waiting to purchase tickets over 15 minutes. This location does not have the kiosk to purchase tickets from. 2. The food was literally not edible. Hotdog tasted like salted boiled water and the nachos were also trash 3. The entire movie, a group of underaged kids got up and down every 5 mins. No one actually sat in their selected seats. Basically, people DON'T waste your coins or you will be disappointed. If I could give no stars I most DEFINITELY would. read more

Ordered my Woman King tickets on Wednesday, show on Saturday. Ordered 8 tickets to take my family. Get to theatre and they say Cinema 3 is down so show in Cinema 2 and we had to switch seats, couldn't even sit with my daughter, Granny, or Cousins. Picked this theatre to support and they were just not accommodating. If u knew theatre was down we shouldve been able to keep same seats in theatre 2. Did this for an experience for my family, Messed our whole experience up, never again..... And i want 2 free tickets for this inconvenience!!! read more

Community investing business + well maintained facility = Excellence. After my second visit, I've come to the conclusion that I love this place. It's what the old Ritz theater on south Grand should have been ( only the 40 and older crowd will remember that). The first time my wife and I caught a movie here there were only four other patrons because it was an early weekday show. So the true test was Friday night Thanksgiving weekend. The theatre passed the test. It maintained the same quaint demeanor it had during the week. No long lines. No crowds in the lobby. Everything was small and convenient. Small intimate theatre designed to have an in and out experience. I really hope this is the beginning of a trend of movie houses in low socioeconomic neighborhoods instead of an anomaly. This was my first visit at 24/1 and it was a great experience. My mom and daughter kept telling me how nice it was so I decided to make my way in today and I am glad I did. I purchased our tickets at the box office which came to a total of $13.50 for 3 tickets!! Yes, just $13.50. Our showtime was to begin at 3:45 so we had enough time to get some popcorn and slurpees. The theater was extremely clean and the service at the concession was good...although service w a smile would be better. We entered into the show and had first pick at any seat. The seats were very comfortable and you are able to recline in them. More people started coming in about 20 min until showtime and once the show started we all were tuned in. When a noble idea comes to fruition the Universe is delighted! The 24: 1 group, which is spearheaded by Beyond Housing in uniting 24 municipalities has partnered with Wehrenberg Theater for this new movie theater. There are four brand spanking new theaters with amazing sound and comfortable seats. The popcorn was fresh, service was very polite and I totally enjoyed the experience. The prices are excellent too - $7.50 for a new movie release. I love the idea of building community with common interests. This is a great theater for UMSL students to attend as the Metro Link is free for students within the area. Even if you do not reside in the immediate area, come support a great St. Louis initiative. Be a giver. Give back. Big or small, being in the habit of giving back is what gives you a heads up to all the rest of the things you do and making your deepest dreams, aspirations, and goals a reality. How amazing you can do that and catch the new Bond movie at the same damn time (#FutureVoice). read more

You get what you pay for sums up this cinema pretty well. I've been here a few times and can say it's an okay establishment. Foods pretty good overpriced but that's at every theater so it doesn't bother me too much. The bathroom is clean but the towel dispensers always seem to be broken. The rooms themselves could be cleaner. On one visit a seat was covered with a trash bag. Doesn't necessarily seem appealing. There was also a puddle under my seat and popcorn scattered across the floor. The staff themselves are polite. This theater encapsulates the older feel theaters use to have. Almost as if it was imported from the early 2000s which I quite enjoy. Perhaps my biggest complaint of all is I wish the employees took care of disrespectful customers. Upon every one of my visit there has either been a child running around, a child crying, or a group of teens/adults talking rather loud. But as stated earlier you get what you pay for. Personally this theater is my kind of place. I love the older theater feel. I definitely see myself coming back time and time again. However I will be looking at later show times or go to see a movie weeks after it's been out. Disrespectful movie watchers are definitely this theaters undoing for me. read more

It's a great addition to the neighborhood. There is not a wide variety of concessions but you come for the movie right? The seats don't recline but they are comfortable enough for a couple of hours. This theatre is quaint. I love that teenagers are working the theatre. The staff is very polite. The theaters are always clean and the stadium seating is comfortable. The movie selection is small but rotates and covers a good number of genres. You can do a reasonable date for 2 with popcorn and drinks. read more

All I can say is wow!! There are only 5 cinemas in the whole theatre. They are relatively small and the seats are uncomfortable compared to what me and my fiancée are used to (AMC theatres). I'm by no means a big guy but at only 6'2 inches in height, there is hardly any leg room. The movie didn't start on time. You can't even recline the chairs. The concessions compare to that of a junior high school basketball game. And I didn't mention that the sound quality isn't great either. For the same price give me esquire, west olive, or any other theatre. read more

This is a very clean and wonderful theater. It has a nice neighborhood feel to it. The film clip before the film starts asking you to remain silent comes across as someone's grandma or aunt reminding you. I am from out of state, but visit St. Louis regularly. This will be the first theater I will check during my future visits. The popcorn is fresh. The sound and picture are great. Seats are comfortable. The people working are very polite. read more

This was my first visit to 24-1. My husband and I attended on Saturday evening and expected a crowd. There was plenty of parking and there were not a lot of people inside. The line to buy tickets was short and it went fast. The refreshment line was also quick. The place was clean and the seats were comfy, theater style seats. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that tickets for this theater are cheaper than at most other theaters ($5.50 on a Saturday evening for adults). This will be our go-to theater from now on when they are showing a movie we want to see. read more

It was my first visit, however my son had been before. I enjoyed the staff, price and location. A large popcorn was more than enough and at a great price. They had a Police Officer on duty, and he also greeted us. The establishment was clean, no one hanging out.. I will definitely return mainly due to how we were treated, with exceptional service!! ... the smell of the soap in the bathroom was also a plus.. cherry or something I loved it! read more

It's a nice new theater, ticket prices cheaper than the others. I even like that it's in the hood. You don't have to go far out. Could be a little bigger though, it was jam packed, and they were still selling tickets. Which is why I only gave it four star is you have somebody come buying tickets and come in and can't find a seat is kind of a waste of time. read more

The location was nice and clean plus everybody was very polite. The theater was kind of small but it was quaint and I enjoyed the visit. The only complaint I have is that because its in a small neighborhood a bunch of the local "disrespectful" teenagers were in attendance also which made the event shitty! My children and I couldn't enjoy the movie due to the teenagers laughing, talking and cursing during the show. I expressed my concerns to the manager but she explained to me, she cant determine who comes into the business and she's sorry my experience wasn't great. From that experience I will not ever be in attendance at the location again. :( read more
