What a great way to enjoy the evening at the Muny. I took my kids here this past monday, which is the last day for the Frozen show this summer. It was a blast. The show was fun to watch. The kids really enjoy the singing and we were impressed. this place was almost packed. The cast were great. Parking can be challenging due to how crowded the muny was. We sat in the middle of the aisle so it was challenging to get in and out.

2025, The Muny's 107th Season, is my first year as a season ticket holder. The line up and services did not disappoint. My family has had season tickets for more than XX/, ie....A LOT, of years. I saw Tyne Daly as Mama Rose if that gives you a ballpark idea. I have had the pleasure of experiencing The Muny through the eyes of an adolescent, young adult, through middle age, and now as a retiree. I remember standing up, looking around, and appreciating the majestic expansiveness of the facility as a child with the same enthusiasm I see it with today; only now I appreciate it under quiet, constantly running fans and with a cold adult beverage in hand. A couple of tips: -If there is someone with a mobility issue or disability in your party, The Muny has you covered! Arrive as early as 7pm (check that). Park in the "Lower Lot" located Stage Left. Head toward the benches located between the lot and the walkway towards the stage. Once there, you will find dozens of young men and women waiting to assist with Muny-provide wheelchairs or as your needs dictate. I have always seen them in turquoise shirts and khaki pants. They will get you to your seat AAANND come back a little after the show concludes to pick you up and get you back to the benches or your vehicle. They are always SO very nice....and work for tips....so take care of them. -Soft sided coolers that fit under your seat are allowed. Stash plastic bottles and a snack to enjoy before or during the performance. This is how these tips apply to my family - My parents put a pre-cut footlong sandwich, chips, napkins, and bottles of H20 in a soft sided cooler. They drive to Muny early and park in the Lower Lot. This year, BOTH of them need assistance to their seats. They make it to the benches, cooler in tow, and catch a ride to their seats. Once in their seats, they enjoy a little pre-performance picnic at their seats. I arrive later, usually via Uber, and end up enjoying a little sandwich and chips during intermission (except during Come From Away. Spoiler: Worth it!) I always knew about, and appreciated, The Muny's "free seats." I only learned their originating story this year from Mike Isaacson when he opened the first of seven performances, Bring It On (Spoiler: Also Worth It!). I'm not sure about the process or how early the line starts for the free seats, but I do know The Muny staff welcomes you and wants you there, even if you don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on tickets. Meet me at the Muny......

The Muny is iconic in St. Louis as a place to bring the community together in the summers. I don't go to a lot of shows due to the parking situation but this isn't the fault of the Muny, it's just in the middle of Forest Park which proves to be challenging. I definitely recommend avoiding the lot as sometimes people won't let you out afterwards into traffic. Once you get in I recommend hitting concessions before getting seated. There is an intermission but the lines get really busy. The seating isn't staggered so as a short person I find it easier to see from a side angle than down the middle. They also are committed to offering free seats to every show if you're willing to go early and stand in line.

The Muny is amazing. Lots of seating for any budget range and they do free seats on top sometimes. I have been here two or three times. I may have seen Fiddler on the Roof as a kid which I somewhat recall as I saw it again last fall with my family. I also went with some young adults for the free seats a decade ago but the show was abruptly rained out. I highly recommend this historic venue for both locals and tourists where there are no bad seats and the staff are amazingly friendly.

The Muny is one of the Top 5 things about St Louis! We were fortunate to enjoy Come From Away on a lovely night. If you need accessibilbe parking there is a lot right off Theater drive. Get there early because the spots fill up. We had several attendants offer to assist me with my daughter in her wheelchair which was very nice. The fans kept the air moving so we were able to enjoy the entire show. You have to go at least once a season!

My partner and I were eating dinner in Forest Park on a Monday night and decided to spontaneously buy tickets to see Frozen at the Muny about 30 minutes before the show started... best last-minute decision ever! I'd been to a handful of Muny performances over the years, but my most recent visit was the closest I had ever sat. I must say that it's an entirely new and exciting experience when you can clearly see the performers' facial expressions and even the sweat dripping off their faces! You gain the raw emotion and all the heart and soul each and every performer puts into their shows. It's truly remarkable, and I definitely had goosebumps multiple times! The restrooms were very clean, and all the employees scattered throughout the area were friendly and helpful. We ended up sharing a Mango Cart and a soft pretzel with cheese sauce from the concession stand during the intermission, and it was delicious. Such a memorable date night!

I have loved the Muny since my first time going as a little girl to see South Pacific. I remember feeling such awe at the people on stage pouring their all into each role. As an adult I still often feel that same wonder and I would love to encourage everyone to take the time to come out for a show. The employees are very helpful throughout the venue to help find seats, directions, and parking. The snacks are good and I would recommend an icecream treat to help keep cool in the summer days. This is a fun experience that is well worth the money. There's also free seats available to every show of you come early enough!

The Muny is a beautiful and historic venue. The employees take great pride in their work as many have worked at The Muny from their teenage years to their senior years. If you get a chance, be sure to ask the employees for some fun stories. Overall, you can't go wrong spending a summer evening here. From the free seats making the arts accessible to the magical dining options at The Culver Pavilion, there are many ways to make your Muny night special. You can even bring in your own soft-sided cooler as long as it fits under your seat. Many people opt to bring their own picnic before settling down for the show. Be prepared to plan for the weather accordingly and stay hydrated during humid summer nights. If you're in need of wheelchair assistance, there are many ushers willing and skilled to help push you to your seat as the venue is up/down a steep incline. Even if you're used to wheeling yourself around, you may find comfort in asking for help because the venue is extremely steep. The performances are high quality and definitely an experience you won't want to miss in St. Louis.

I went to the Muny with a friend to see Dreamgirls. I haven't been to the Muny in years. We had excellent seats and it was a nice evening, so it wasn't too hot. Be sure to arrive early for street parking. You may want to bring a fan or cooling towel if it's going to be a hot evening. Believe it or not but it can actually get a little chilly after the sun sets, so you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket as well. The production was wonderful. Excellent singing and a great performance! It was a longer show and they did have an intermission. They do have drinks and snacks available for purchase. The Muny provides a great evening out.

The Muny is a staple to St. Louis. If you haven't been, put it on your to do list to visit in Forest Park! For Muny nights, you can either get there super early & take advantage of their free seats or purchase your Muny ticket to get a closer seat! Recently the Muny has gone through some rehab & updates which just enhances your experience.

I had an incredible experience taking a behind the scenes tour the Muny outdoor theater in St. Louis with Explore St. Louis! Wow! I can't imagine managing and directing a show! Going up on stage and seeing the inter-workings of a show was so awesome! Tracy, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. Funny and witty! She had the best energy! St. Louis truly shines. So many cool things to do like this! I have Muny season tickets and I can't wait for this upcoming 106th season!

One of my favorite things about St Louis. I have been here 20 years and try to go to as many shows as I can. I used to sit in the free seats a lot but lately pay for C seats to avoid the long bathroom line. The ushers are always so helpful and concession lines are never long. It's fun to go early and picnic on the beautiful grounds before the show.

My mother-in-law passed away a couple months ago. We decided to have family pictures here to honor her. I've visited St. Louis many times, but never had been here before. There were so many beautiful places to take pictures and they turned out great.

This is a place where friends are made. If you have ever been interested in signing up for a class…read moredon't hesitate. Doing improv has improved my life exponentially and I KNOW I'm a better person for it. You learn how to genuinely connect and listen to other people and I feel that is an art that has been lost since the pandemic. Go also to just see a show. You won't regret it.

I havent found many Hidden Gems in St. L yet, but I think we're changing that here.. Maybe?…read more Okay, you think Comedy and St. Louis - you think Funny Bones, The Helium Club and maybe the Pageant and Fox Theatres I recommend you add one more to your list, the Improv Room. Warning: I had received some conflicting info so bear with: Now first and foremost, I have to explain that this is not your typical standup comic set. These are Improv students (Being taught at ... THE IMPROV ROOM) doing a nice take of "Drew Carey's Improv Ganza" Show (I would say "Who's Line Is it Anyway", but they usually only do one scene per show). Mind blown yet? Don't be. Cause you've got an amazing operation here with so MUCH you're not going to realize it, and it's incredible for the cost. Basically, this is operation is a series of classes, in which you can come in to learn how to do "improv" (ironically, I don't think it's limited to comedy, at least per the website, although that's their specialty). There are literally three stages in one quaint (Ironically, "out of the way" location, which seems to make it feel safer for parking than you can expect). It's time to take things out of order: Because of the special fact of the Improv Room. I will start with the drinks/food: The food is minimal fare honestly, but that's okay. Sandwiches/Wraps/and Quick Bites. (The good news is that if you're in a show, simply turn on the tea lamp on your table and someone will come to you. My problem was that I picked a lightless table. OOPS on the staff!). {sorry guys; have to take off 1 point since I didn't get to try the food for this error} The good news was they have bar and a 'Lounge" (of sorts) out front, and the nice young bartendress told me how the building and stages worked (and made a great Vodka Collins beforehand.) and a nice conversation with her about the entire building and company for a while. And just for warning purposes, the lighting was very dim in the "lounge".. dunno if it was for aesthetic purposes, but it did a very bad job of hiding the "STEPS" up to the stage rooms.. (Yes, i found out the hard way, but held it together) Anyway, so why do the food first? Because now it's time to talk about the shows. ** and there is some confusion on Yelp and the website (so this will be a "at your own risk" at the moment) The Shows: Now remember these are mostly improv students, so you're getting some amateurs with a little practice or maybe first timers, so be gentle. Mondays: You get to watch one of (up to 3) shows of the students doing a scene of some sort (sometimes with audience participation, sometimes without), all of which run about 60 minutes. and then a second "elevated' show with participants who have had more class time. But believe it or not, for you the audience, it's absolutely FREE! Come on, you can't argue that cost, can you? *NOTE; this is where Yelp and the website differ: The website calendar says they do Monday shows and even have a Monday specific menu, Yelp says it's closed, so if anyone can unconfuse me, please do * Note: My last attendance was on a Monday show, so I think yelp may be in the wrong here The keys are the show times; 7:30 and 9:00 PM. Usually you get your choice of one of two shows on each hour process (again, check the calendar for confirmation), and that goes for Thurdsay (fee for the early show, FREE for the late show), Friday (all ticketed/fee-prices) and Saturday (all ticket/fee-prices) So back to my visit: I managed to find the place in time to make the last bit of the early show (where teams were competing for audience applause) and the late show on a Monday where the featured act was a "LARP" of a Dungeons and Dragons game. (well as much as you can when you're pretending to be doing laundry [audience suggested by the way} as a major quest - final hint: we can say the laundry DIDN'T get done by the end of the scene) Again, I wasn't expecting professional standup comics, I got stage actors having fun doing unique scenes for laughs. And all at a reasonable price and accommodations. And looking back through all this. I feel bad that I haven't even mentioned the "Improv classes". Remember how I told you the shows are ticketed and free, and you have to keep asking yourself how do they do them for free? Think of it as a co-op. Sign up for (I believe) 8 weeks of courses you learn the art of improv (and ironically, I don't think it's all comedy, although I think that's where it's focused) and these free shows are your "tests" along the way. And just as a warning: I'd minimum age of 16 for attendance, due to potential subject matter, although i don't think they have any rules against kids, and try to keep it reasonably PG+ So go support your young aspiring St. Lou actresses and actors. Go now! Yes now! (but make sure it's a show day!)
