I came here with my work team for our morale event and to try out restaurant week. This location has plenty of parking and the building is large, there were plenty of seating available. We all tried the restaurant week menu. I ordered the mango lassi. My favorite drink, not too sweet , creamy with a touch of mango. I chose the Somosa chaat, the pick three curry ( butter chicken, chicken korma, and beef curry) with the rice and naan was additional. For dessert I chose the carrot cake with vegan cream cheese frosting. The samosa chaat was huge! So flavorful, the tamarind sauce was spectacular, it has a bit of sweetness to it. I enjoyed the whole thing, although a little large for an appetizer. I think it would be a great idea if the samosa chaat were mini size, especially paired with the chickpeas. It does have a god kick of spice to it. My favorite of the three curries was the butter chicken, they were all six ounce curry servings, just enough for a few pieces of meat to sample different flavors. The rice was nice and fluffy. The naan dipped in the curry sauce is my favorite, I could just eat naan and sauce. I do wish the naan was more thick and fluffy, it was more like a tortilla. The three curries with the appetizer was plenty of food for two. I had plenty of leftovers and the curry leftover for the next day was even better! The carrot cake was moist, with bites of nuts and carrots throughout. The vegan cream cheese was amazing, not overwhelmingly sweet like regular cream cheese frostings. Overall one of the best carrot cakes I've had. Restaurant week was a great opportunity for me to finally try this place, and Indian food! read more

First time at the north side restaurant, probably won't return. Slow service and poor interaction and food was disappointing. Salad left a great deal to be desired, minimal salad dressing (was only spices). Rice was lumpy. On the one plus side; chicken was very tender. Meal cost $50.00, did not purchase a drink. There are things I have come to expect from this restaurant. Like waiting up to ten min to be served water or asked if you'd like a drink while sitting in the bar, because the bar tender is too busy talking g to the kitchen about some text messages. (She wasn't there the next time) I've accepted the service isn't great because the food is usually pretty good so we usually just get take out. We wanted to try something different. We ordered the onion salad. Thinly sliced onions and cucumbers with spices and cilantro. Sounded interesting. When my husband returned with our order, there was no onion salad. We couldn't reach them on the phone so he just went back. He returned with the onion salad. Don't order this dish unless you are prepared to repel people the rest of the evening. The onions are thinly sliced. There was cucumber. The spice is pepper, no cilantro and it looked like someone threw in some cabbage to tease us. Always check your bag. They get 4 stars for delicious food. I have been here more than 10 times over the years. To both locations. This is specifically about their north location. Their butter chicken poutine is incredible. I like a lot of their curries. They have a good variety as well. Their naan is way too thin though. I'm not of fan of their naan. And don't bother getting the cheese naan because it has barely any cheese. Their garlic naan is yummy but it is just not the right consistency of naan. Their veggie rice is delicious and very buttery. I have been here enough times to expect crap service. I don't think I've ever gone and had good service, so don't expect it when you come. It's interesting because sometimes they play Bollywood music and other times it's just the radio. They should keep it consistent. Bollywood is their best bet considering the place used to be an old Mackenzie river grill so their furniture and booths already don't scream India. Also, don't drink the water. It tastes horrible. Something about their water is nasty. So I always get a soda even though it's like $4. Overpriced but better than drinking their tap water. read more

Better than the downtown location in my opinion. As a regular customer of the downtown location, I've always wanted to give this North location a try despite it being like 30 mins away from me. I didn't know this location existed until I recently got a coupon for them in the mail. (*The coupon says The Mango Tree has a Sunday buffet, but I confirmed with them that there is no such thing) I was turned away the first time I was here after driving 30 mins because there was a car crash outside and they decided not to do dine-in due to safety. I was disappointed but returned again a week later. I always order the same thing when I go to The Mango Tree so that's what I did at this location too. The butter chicken poutine (my favorite item) has never tasted this good at the downtown location. Very crunchy and crispy. I also did the lunch special, which looks like a lot of food in the photos on their FB page due to the angle. In reality, the lunch special is two 8 oz bowls of curries plus 8 oz rice depending on what you want to order. Small but still filling, and most importantly, delicious. Lunch specials are probably pre-made in a big batch because you can't pick your spicy level. Besides the distance (which is relative), everything else is better than the downtown location in my opinion. Better parking situation, better dining environment (but the floor was a bit sticky when I went), faster service despite having less staff (but also not so busy that day), and better-tasting food. read more

My friends and I came here on a Sunday for lunch and there was no wait at all. We ordered our food (2 butter chickens and 1 chicken tikka masala) and they arrived really quickly. The portions are smaller than what I was expecting but it was very filling. Their pita bread is delicious and I think each meal comes with three slices of pita! I thought their food was delicious and I also like that we get to adjust the spice level of each entree. The service was good and I would definitely come back here again. read more

She said they don't seat people past 8:20 and the kitchen closes at 8:30. If you're going to close up 40 min before your posted close time of 9pm you should put that on a website somewhere or just make your closing hour 8:30. read more

Spoke with someone on the phone earlier today asking about reservations, she let me know they only do reservations for parties 6 or more which made sense. However I asked if I came in around 8:15-8:30 if it would be busy, she said that would be a good time to come it shouldn't be busy at all. Excellent! Came here for my birthday lunch. I grew up on Indian food in England for 30+ years and this restaurant was the best I've experienced in years. Ordered samosas and Naancho for appetizers both excellent. Shared mixed grill, tarka daal and lamb jalfrezi heat #4 for entrees. Everything was delicious. Best Indian food in Spokane and that I've had EVER. I've lived all over and had Indian quite a few times. This place is clean, service was great. I had the lunch special with beef curry and chicken tiki masala rice and naan bread. It was all so fresh and flavorful, including the rice. I can't wait to go back and order the chicken tiki masala and try something new. They are rolling out new savory mixed drinks and I'll definitely try one. The waitress was showing us all pictures of the creations. She also let us know that all the chefs in the kitchen are from India. Highly recommend!
