Got a 3 month trim for my "Coronabeard". I have never grown a beard for this long before, so this was a brand new experience. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the transformation was amazing! I've recently moved to Provo and after finding this gem there's no where else I'll get my hair cut. Kohl gave me an incredible style on my first visit that I wasn't expecting and is a true professional. I have a large scar behind my left ear and he has always taken extreme care when other places have nearly drawn blood from being so careless. I've been going to barbers instead of chain haircut places for the last 4 years, and The Man Barber is by far the most classy I have ever been to and has the most professional barbers. My barber and I had a phenomenal conversation the entire time. He was clearly a master of his craft which was demonstrated both by the quality of the haircut and his use of terminology. I had a skin fade with a 1/4" off the top. He used a razor to bring the side down, then straight razored the stubble away. He cut in a hard part and then cut the top. All in all phenomenal experience. The hot towel and cool towel head treatment to finish it off was the perfect finishing touch. read more

I've never been to a true barber before. In previous times, I went to a place that was better than a chain (SuperCuts, GreatClips, etc.), but not quite a true barber, such as this establishment. I booked online around two-ish weeks out, and that process was easy and fluid. The actual cut with Isaiah was awesome. After 4 years, this is my shop. It's part of my life routine. More than the awesome vibe, I keep coming back because the barbers are perfectionists and treat the whole experience as their craft. Cuts are always on point. I've had a beard for about 7 years, and live by the motto "when in doubt, grow it out." So I was a little hesitant to go get my beard trimmed and shaped the first time. I remember coming in with a very particular vision. Tighten the sides, a little bulk out of the back near my neck, but keep almost all the length. Like a freaking mad scientist/artist, my barber got in and did the work, checking meticulously throughout, and gave me some recommendations based on my face shape. I got to keep the length, but it was so clean and fit really well with my cut. I'd call The Man Barber a class act. Only it's not an act. read more

Barber named Kohl texted me 30 minutes before my 3pm appointment saying he needed to move it to 3:30pm. Appointment had been booked for a month. I had an appointment with a client from my work at 4pm so couldn't do that. No apology or anything, just "like reacted" my message that I'd be going somewhere else in favor of rescheduling. I don't mix well with haircuts - like oil and water, or house fires and anyone. I wait as long as I possibly can (my rule of thumb is "schedule within 7 days of the missus threatening divorce") and I weep for the ~$12 that I'm forced to spend on something that I hate so much. I visited The Man Barber for the first time today. Spoiler alert: my hatred of haircuts has been (at least temporarily) healed. The atmosphere is fun, the music is good, the barbers are all VERY friendly, and the haircut looks fantastic. The Coke was cold and refreshing, my conversation with Reise was enlivening, and my wife read a cool old book about superstitions & idioms while waiting for me (turns out "Adam's apple" comes from a bunch of stupid Middle Age clergy misinterpreting Latin). My bill ended up being a cool $39 (after tip) - best money I ever spent. If you're a penny-pincher like me, perform the following mental gymnastics: you were going to spend $12+ on a haircut anyways, so the real price is $27. You were going to spend $10 on Cafe Rio anyways, so skip that and it's $17. Now take $17 out of the budget for Disneyland, because Disneyland is STUPID and crowded and this is refreshing and fun and a really memorable experience. This barber shop is my husbands new favorite place. He needs a very specific skin fade that many barbers or salons butcher all the time and cannot fade well. After my husband went to this place, it was the first time I didn't complain about the uneven sides or terrible fade. Thanks to Colton!! He does a fantastic job and my husband now goes once a month. Amazing....everything but the beard grooming. The Man Barber is an old school barbershop. The vibe, decor and barbers all fit the bill of an amazing, vintage establishment. Barbers were friendly and inviting, even offered free drinks! Unfortunately, the beard grooming was a disaster. After showing a picture of what the beard looked like 4 weeks prior and informing the barber, "that's exactly how I want it again, don't change the cheek or jawline, just take the bulk off" When finished, he made sure things were ok and would fix whatever was needed. After looking in the mirror, I knew facial hair couldn't be reinstalled, so I left a tip, as I understand that's where they make their money, said thank you, and left. I spent 30 minutes at home straightening the cheek and jaw lines that were butchered, not to mention unable to fix the areas of hair that is 1/2 shorter than surrounding hair. I really wanted to like this place and be a long term customer, but after my beard grows back in 2 months to what it should have been, I'll find a new shop. read more

You'll get amazing service, the best haircut of your life, and a great conversation. Both Reise and Davey are masters of the trade. They know how to make great recommendations and help you look your finest. I have had them trim my beard and mustache a number of times and each time I walk away feeling like a million bucks. I take my disabled father for Isaiah to cut his. The level of professionalism is beyond words. The staff is always extremely friendly and makes you feel right at home. This past Saturday I took my autistic seven year-old son to get his hair cut. My son has sensory and can not have his hair cut by clippers. Isaiah, took his time to make sure my son was comfort and not frightened. Periodically, Isaiah would stop and make sure to brush all the hair away and to see if my son was doing ok. Dave was great. He spent the full hour on my hair, carefully checking for spots he may have missed. I could tell the guy loved his craft and he seemed genuinely excited to have me in his chair. Dave also gave me some great tips for my beard; what types of oils they offer and what I could use instead. I was grateful he didn't try and push his own products on me but gave several different options and asked me what I already used for maintenance on my hair and beard. The Man Barber does a good job for the most part. They are talented. I went in three days before my wedding and showed Davie (Davey) pictures of the haircut I wanted. The hair cut I ended up with was good, but not at all the one I asked for. It was cut shorter than I had asked and was unable to be altered into a more desired looking cut because of that. For specific barber work, I really would recommend them, but be very specific with what you want, and make sure you need a barber and not a hair salon/stylist. read more

I researched where I could buy some beard oil online and was directed to reise's shop. I waked in with the sole intention of just looking at what he had to offer and gaining some education about beard oils and proper beard care. It was refreshing to find a local down to earth guy. I like to buy local when I can and support the local small business owners. Mostly everything thing that Reise has is handmade and locally sourced. An hour later I walked out with having my beard trimmed, a nice straight razor clean up, beard oil, and a beard brush.
