Too crowded. Too loud. Not enough servers. Had dinner there the other night. Ordered drinks. Waited too long. Then the martini my wife ordered was made incorrectly. Waited again. Took forever. Food came before my wife's drink came. Busy is a good thing to be, but not when you can't manage the business well. Management is nonexistent. Excellent food and attentive service for a sports bar. Lots of televisions at all angles; not the place to see games on big screens, but the sets are very visible to fans. The chicken wings are good, lots of sauces of all temperatures; and never too greasy. Burgers and fries are a Good choice too, as are chicken sandwiches and salads. Perfect for happy hour /cocktails. I go here every Thursday with my co workers after work. Don't really know of any specials but they have large tables that are spread out and an outside area with heat lamps! My first time at the Main Event will be memorable for sure! I got food poisoning!! I attended a viewing party with my club on December 13th. I ordered the Monterey Chicken with Asparagus. A few hours later, I was sick to my stomach and hugging the bowl...ALL NIGHT LONG...in fact 17 hours. I lost all of December 14th and today the 15th, I am still feeling it. First our pretzel came out frozen and then my food gave me food poisoning. This is unacceptable and now reading other reviews not uncommon. I should be able to sit at your restaurant and feel safe eating there...you are obviously lacking in sanitary practices. read more

The service was not bad, my waitress was extremely sweet, and they play good music, but this food is the worst sports bar food I've ever had. I don't know how you can mess up potato skins, but the cheese was extremely dry and they didn't have much flavor. You're better off going to Fridays or Buffalo Wild Wings. Always satisfied after leaving this place. Servers are always friendly and engaging. Lots of TV's, great for a sports night, celebration, quick bite, family night, anything. Back room is excellent for private parties. Food is always a hit, my personal favorite is the grilled salmon wrap with an angry orchard. We sat in a small dining room next to the bar with wall to wall TVs all tuned to the same game. My SIL runs gluten free, so we ordered a dozen of the grilled with sauce on the side. Wings meaty crispy and piping hot, thick chunks of blue in the dip, little skimpy on the celery. Taps menu could use a little nudge toward some of the great local Long Island IPAs, but I found a nice bottle of 8% hopped up suds for $6 and for the asking a frosted glass then had a pint of the Hacker Pschorr Limited Edition Maibock on draft. The waitress was no where to be found the majority of the time and the food was absolutely disgusting!!! I got a chicken quesadilla and can't believe they actually charge $13 for this!!! Really a great neighborhood spot to come and watch the game especially on football Sunday. They have flat screens everywhere so you never miss a minute and can watch multiple games at once, perfect if you have a fantasy football team. Bartenders here are always very friendly and attentive. As for the food I've only tried their fried football selections such as wings, mozz sticks ect. But it was pretty good. They definitely need to work on making the sliders a little better, they're just plain with chesse. A bit boring. Other than that they offer a crazy long menu of everything from steaks to whole lobsters. Pretty cool for a sports bar. I've yet to try any of it but will eventually. Well, I commend all those sports lovers that have embraced a sports bar in Plainview, NY. There have been inconsistent reviews that I have read on line, I questioned whether I should dine at this sports bar, But since I did not recognize any of the individuals that were noting those low rated reviews, I was definitely giving the bar a try. Meanwhile, we ordered burgers and chicken Souvlaki, and both were very good. In fact this was one of the better burgers I have had in a Sports Bar. The restaurant has several flat screen TV's perfectly situated to watch sporting events. About 12 of us popped in here last Sunday to watch the NFL Conference Championship games and we were impressed by the amount of TVs in the place. No matter where you sit, you will be able to catch the game (or whatever else they show when a game isn't on). We shared several Sampler Platters, sliders, buffalo wings. & mozzarella sticks. Everything came out hot and tasted good. Pricing isn't bad at all. Our servers were very pleasant and available when we wanted to order more food or beverages. There is plenty of parking out back. When we 1st arrived, the restaurant was packed but still found a parking spot within short order. Initially, we saw several families dining but the place got quieter around 8:00-8:30PM. I'll begin by saying that had it not been for my nurse friends, I would have never walked in to the spot. Not that the exterior looks bad, it's just understated. However, after walking in you'll find and expansive interior. The fully stocked bar to the right and flat-screen TVs everywhere scream "sports bar" but the tables and booths scream "Diner." You be the judge. As far as the food, you'll again note a very big menu covering steaks to seafood. I haven't had the guts to try either of those, but their burgers, wraps and salads are good to go. I've also had the Sweet Potato Fries (I wasn't too impressed by those. They were too thinly sliced & slightly overcooked) and the baked clams (Solid). If you're a sports fan and you want wings, I don't know what to tell you. On one occasion, one of my friends said they were good, the other said they were a little dry/overcooked. In my opinion they were worth 3/5 stars when compared to the best wings I've ever had. Again, you be the judge on that and let me know how you feel. The bottom line is that I'll definitely go again, but here's a Grain of Salt: I've only gone during the week. So service has always been fast but there's a lot of sports on the weekends so there is the possibility (and high probability) that the service you get over the weekends may be a little slower due to high volume. The service my friends and I have had has usually been excellent. They've got very nice people on duty there. Know Before You Go: 1) They have free WiFi! That's always a plus. 2) If you're pressed for time (hospital workers usually are while on duty), you can call ahead and have them start your order before you arrive, even if you're dining in. This sports bar is huge! Plenty of room for you and all of your buddies to check out the game. There are tv's everywhere, so every seat is great and you'll never miss a moment. There are about two dozen beers on tap all of which are non craft options. They do carry about four different craft brews in bottles. Unquestionably, the beer selection is catered towards those whom enjoy the AB-InBev offerings. There are hundreds of offerings on the menu. They offer any American dish that I could think of. I opted for the all American burger. It was a hefty portion and came with a large serving of fries. I asked for the burger to be cooked to a medium rare, and my request was well accommodated. A solid sports bar with late hours. I like to hit this place on the way home from work at my restaurant. It is a good place to unwind with a couple of cold ones. The bartenders are all young girls and they mostly suck - the mixed drinks are weak and they are none too quick with a buy back. Stick to the beers and no one gets hurt... Coming to the main event under company expenses is nothing to complain about. I didn't really know what to expect from this place, but seeing all the flat screen TVs kept me entertained from the minute I walked in. Going out on your first company lunch outing may cause a lot of anxiety, but this place is lively even if there aren't that many people at this spot. The food was great! my co-workers had some steak, burgers and salads and all of them loved it. I had a panini, and I would say it was ok, although it did live up to its menu descriptions for being very crispy. I was originally going to give this place a 3 for giving me the afternoon runs at work, but after being reminded about their special sweet potato fries and free refills, and not to mention the abundant spaces for parking, I have to bump it up a little to a 4. so there you have it... till the next visit, which might be during happy hour, we shall see how well it can remain a 4. read more
