This place is the best if you are looking for magic tricks and very knowledgeable staff. They have a huge variety of stuff from cheap things for the kids all the way up to stuff for Professionals. The owner Brent is great. He will take the time to show you how to perform anything you buy. I wouldn't waste my time going any where else. read more

I was recommended by a magician to check out the Magic Apple if I was serious about learning some magic. I stopped by the shop with one of my friends and the employees were so helpful and entertaining. They showed us a few tricks and amazed us. We each bought the Card College Volume 1 book and fancy decks of cards. In fact, if you are looking for cards the Magic Apple is your spot. They have so many decks to choose from. Who knew that it would be such a tough choice?! After I learn some tricks I am going to go back and show the employees. They are great and if you want to learn magic this is your spot to start. read more

I am giving this a 4-star review because I love coming here, but... BEWARE when you buy a trick here. Be sure to ask if what you've bought is the trick itself or if it's just the DVD. I recently bought the Rainmaker trick, only to open it and find that it's only the DVD tutorial, which is online anyway. The actual trick dollars were not included. I already knew how to do the trick, so my $15 were wasted on a tutorial that I didn't need. I guess I'll have to make the trick dollars myself. Other than that experience, the tricks I've bought from them have packed a punch every time I've performed them. Having a touch of spectacle really elevates your show from just being a string of card tricks (even though I personally love card tricks). read more

Got to meet members of the Magic Castle who showed me and my friends a dozen tricks while we were there. I even saw one of the guys here that I ran into at the Castle last month! I am not a magician, but the staff is friendly, the shop has tons of resources from DVDs, books, cards and tricks. The signed memorabilia lining the store and the fellas that hang out there are testament to the caliber of this place. read more

I've been sending Magic Apple care packages to my 8 year old nephew during Covid. He's loving it, and I've even been getting a few of the tricks for myself to figure out! There's constantly something new and fun to pick up. Brent's been amazing, helping guide me as to what would be good while I get the cool uncle points!! Thanks Magic Apple!! read more

Cool store. I'm not a magician but my friend is. He always suggests that if I need cards to go here. He was right. I never knew that there was such an assortment of playing cards. I graves a couple of really cool decks I'd never seen before. read more

What a tease! the guys been coming to visit and bring me tricks to help me get my hand moving from being paralized now I'm back to normal again thank you guys! Best magic shop! Please let them know how nice they are if you read this I appreciated thank you! read more

One of my favorite shops in all of LA. The staff/magicians are all willing to help and will give their honest opinion even if it means you don't buy the trick. They will show you almost any trick and they also have a great deck selection. They also have a great selection of tricks that are specific to this shop only. This store is worth your patronage. read more

Anyone looking for a unique gift for a friend or loved one, this place has a wealth of ideas. Recently I was desperate for a birthday gift for my grown son who has everything. A friend suggested a Magic Shop. I came into Magic Apple and I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Brent Geris. I had never been such a mesmerizing place. Brent listened to dilemma about getting my son a special birthday gift and he generously helped me find that the perfect gift. I am thrilled to say my son loved his gift as was touched that I thought "out of the box". Again thank you Brent. read more

To magicians, pranksters and lovers of novelty joke items, the place is really good and representative of what a brick and mortar magic shop is supposed to be. To those new to magic and pranks...you need to go to a 'real' vs Internet place because the guidance, demonstrations and advice are invaluable compared to hopping websites. To those who are looking for specific items you need to call or visit since they simply don't list all their items on their store website. I found books on their shelves that are unavailable thru the publisher, thru eBay, thru circles of my magic friends and even used book stores. I saw magic tricks lower than advertised prices. Good place. Helpful staff. On my last visit I picked up a hard to find Marlo book while watching many parents and grandparents get their sons and grandsons the gifts they really wanted. read more

I love this Magic shop!!! I used to go in just to get great unique gifts for my son. I never knew what I needed but they were always helpful with a selection that was geared for my sons ability. Now I pop in for myself. This is the place to go for Magic and cool gifts in LA. read more

Magic apple, magic shoppe... the grands love it here, Anthony and Brent run this joint. They have tons of stuff here, from gags too serious magic, alot of books too. Go in and visit. read more

The staff is very helpful and the selection is pretty great. They offer some fun events and lectures and I like supporting local magic retail stores, especially when they are as good as this one and beyond the typical touristy shops you find on boardwalks and piers. read more

Amazing customer service! We were greeted by Anthony, who eagerly presented multiple tricks for our group. He recommended products based on skill level and gave tips in regard to how to learn. The store is full of product, with no shortage of supplies for whatever your magical heart desires. Not to mention the huge selection of cool looking card decks. Great experience, would recommended to Magicians of any skill level. read more

It is always a satisfying experience to visit the Magic Apple. Brent and Anthony are helpful and friendly, with lots of good advice.

I took my 8 year old son for our first visit yesterday. I can see why this wonderful place is so highly rated. Anthony was the perfect host for our visit -- he was funny and engaging, and he was extremely helpful in explaining options in the store without being pushy. And he impressed us with some card tricks. We'll be back! read more

Great magic shop! If your a beginner or veteran performer the magic apple is the best magic shop in town.

They have everything magic related here, super helpful, pretty cool, a little goofy and definitely fun!!

This place is amazing! We brought our kid that is into magic to find some easy tricks for beginners and ended up with a full experience for him! We loved it! They were patient and guided us so we could buy the right tricks for him. read more

Great little store. Took my 7 year old to find some simple tricks for her. The two guys in the store were really helpful showing us around. Showed us some fun easy tricks. Seemed to be doing a good business. Glad a store like this still has a place in the world of Amazon. read more

Great store. Experienced. Robust offerings. Helpful and nice people. I would recommend this establishment. Much easier than oing over the hill to Hollywood. And as I said they are helpful!!! read more

My home away from home. Friendly courteous staff, huge selection, and awesome lectures.

Still haven't return. Go to Penguin Magic. Get it without the rudeness and pay less at the same time. A LOT LESS. On line magic stores will demo everything in videos now-a-days. read more

The Magic Apple is so awesome!!! I drove by this place for two years without noticing it because from the outside it doesn't look like much, but once I went inside I was astounded by the inventory. With good deals, it's definitely the best magic shop in LA. Everyone at the counter is always super passionate about the shop and helping out customers. Couldn't recommend more highly. read more

This place is where the pro's shop. It has everything. The staff was nice to me. The guy working that day was very helpful and he was very knowledgable. What suppressed me was when I was picking up some Johnson Coin products, I thought that I had to ask to see each item. He jut put the bin of Johnson Coin's and let me look freely through the different coin effects. No magic shop that I know does that. What separates them from other magic shops I have been to In Southern California was the fact that they have a demo deck section in the store. If you were wondering if you liked the feel of a Phoenix or a Blue Crown deck, you can test it out. I really like that because it saved men some money on some of the decks I was thinking about purchasing. They also have some jam tables for magicians to hang out and demo new tricks to each other or help others refine a basic card slight. They also offer discounts for I.B.M, S.A.M, and Magic Castle Members (unless due to contractual obligations with their suppliers on certain products. Even then, the produces are clearly marked "No Discount"). It saved me a lot of money on some of the coin tricks and books I bought. To any magician Visiting the L.A. area for whatever reason, this shop is a must to visit! It is not far from Universal Studios either. read more

Such a fun place! Tricks for the amateur or professional. Super nice staff! Thank you for getting my daughter and her cousins started on a fun magic journey. read more

My first visit to this place a couple months ago was a good experience. However I came in today with my children and experienced a very rude individual not providing customer service so I left and did not buy anything. I highly doubt that I will ever visit the store again. I will just buy my magic tricks and supplies online. The store is another reason why people shop online. read more

First class service in a full magic shop. They can get what you need at an affordable price. As a working pro I really appreciate Brent helping me out as much as he does. This is a place where some of the best magicians in Los Angeles go to let their hair down and hang out. If you want to see something cool go in and ask for Michael Rangel. He's great, and very knowledgable. Go here, go here, go here. Support brick and mortar shops. read more

This isn't just the best magic shop in California...it's the best ANYWHERE! When I was new to magic I went to another magic shop (in Hollywood) which is no longer around (no surprise) and they intentionally sold me something they knew was out of my skill range, just so they could make a quick sale. Guess what? I never shopped at that place again. Brent and the guys at the Magic Apple are more interested in you staying interested in magic than they are in making a quick sale. Integrity is hard to find and the Magic Apple REALLY cares about their customers! I now get paid to perform and honestly I give a lot of credit to the Magic Apple for helping me along the way. From hobbyist to amateur to professional the Magic Apple has everything you could possibly want or need and if it's not in stock they will get it for you SUPER fast. BEST MAGIC SHOP ANYWHERE!! read more

Probably the most important and last of its kind true magic shop. The Magic Apple is still holding it down in all areas of magic. Personally I go for the close up stuff--but Brent G. and Anthony are the Studio City, Hollywood, NoHo, Sherman Oaks, Hollywood Hills and all other areas in the Los Angeles county that are thee authorities when it comes to any form of magic/illusions. They don't just sell the tricks, they offer courses too. Most likely you're bound to run into one of the pros of the art, like Steve Valentine...or Scott Bays , or Howard from the Castle, or any of the other regulars that spend their days practicing and practicing some more, you won't find another place like it on earth. The Magic Apple is a special one of kind place, with one of kind people. read more

It's a great store to visit. You don't see many real magic shops around, unfortunately everything is online now. An online shop will never have the same personal experience a shop like this provides. Great service and great venues. I've had the opportunity to assist to a few lectures, and man are they great. You get to see the product first hand, not just pictures, you get to socialize with other magicians, some of which have years of experience. Some offer lessons, including the shop. I've been going to this shop for years and they never disappoint. read more

This place is awesome. I was transported back to my childhood walking in with the friendly staff and they really took there time with me. A huge selection and I was able to ask a ton of questions with friendly answers and a can't wait to go back for more! Thanks! read more

STOP BUYING ON LINE and run to this STORE!!! This is the GREATEST Magic Store EVER! My whole family loves going there. The owner is funny, patient, and really knowledgable. He is also fluent in American Sign Language which is not only AMAZING but makes shopping there and demo-ing tricks soooo much easier for me, since I am deaf. Also the merchandise is reasonably priced. Also I know what I am getting so that I don't get surprised by on-line orders. I can tell that this store is more than a business.. it is a lifelong passion for the owner, which makes shopping there SO MUCH FUN!!! Also don't miss out on their parties...they are AMAZING...they throw the best parties. The owner has his whole family involved. Last one we went to his mom was spinning cotton candy and his duaghters were serving them to customers. How cool is that?? read more
