My facial was done by Anna who was really kind and helpful when it came to my skin concerns. She took a look at my face and suggested a facial that would be best for me. Anna was able to answer any questions I had about my skin, but didn't go too in-depth. She was really gentle and made sure I was comfortable (the steam wasn't too hot, the masks weren't causing tingling feeling, etc.). The space is pretty open, about 3-4 seats next to each other with pop music playing in the background. Definitely not a quiet, peaceful setting, but I wasn't looking for that for this visit. You're in and out within 30 minutes with a fresh and hydrated face. Would definitely come back if I'm looking for a quick facial.

We briefly discussed my skin concerns before she began, and the facial itself was really great--I left feeling dewy and hydrated. The reason for the lower rating is everything surrounding the service. At checkout, the front desk rang up the facial as $270 so I could tip on the full amount. All of their marketing and promotional materials show prices well under $100, so I'm still not sure how the total reached $270 (even if they had combined multiple services). I booked through ClassPass and didn't pay any of that amount myself, but I still had to tip based on $270. I am fully supportive of tipping on the full value of a service--I just wasn't prepared for that number and wasn't planning to tip $50 on top of the ClassPass points. It felt like the "value" was being presented as the cash price, which came across as unclear and a little yucky. The front desk person also couldn't explain the pricing very well. No one walked me through the products that were used, what they do, or that different sizes were available for purchase. I would have genuinely appreciated that information. Because this was the last appointment on a Friday, a few of the staff were talking loudly about their evening plans (sushi) over the music, which made it hard to relax. Someone also started mopping the floor while I was still getting my facial, so walking out felt a bit treacherous. It was clear everyone was ready to leave, and while I understand that, it didn't make for a great overall experience. The facial itself was excellent--LaShawn did a wonderful job. The issues were with communication around pricing, product education, and the end-of-day atmosphere.

Most of them are sent to my house to read since he doesn't read them. In the Chicago's Best issue of Chicago Magazine this year, there was an article about Zizi's in there being a place to check for getting your brows done. On the strength of that, I thought I would give it a try. I had my brows done several months ago out of desperation at a place I should not have gone to and it was a disaster. I had to basically let mine grow out to repair the damage. I made an appointment online for a Saturday at 8:30 am. Like other reviews stated, she was late but by 3-5 minutes, which was not a deal breaker for me. Once she showed up, she was very apologetic and quite lovely. Zizi was quite adorable and very personable. She talked me through the process of what she was doing, made recommendations and showed me how to apply brow make-up to enhance my brows. She also offered to tint my brows to make my hair. While I know a lot of women do the make-up and tinting, this is not something I would do...too much work for me. But Zizi did an amazing job on shaping my brows. It was relatively painless and she was pleasant to chat with while it was being done. She even them up and brought back my arch. The space itself is lovely...clean and calm. There's plenty of metered street parking. Even with being late, the entire process was less than 30 mins, which is what I put on the meter. By the time I got to the counter to pay, there was a steady stream of clients coming in. Zizi's not only does brows, but hair, facials and nails. Glad I got in when I did because it looked like it was going to be a busy day. I have already scheduled my appointment for next month with her.

As soon as I walked in, I was offered water which was nice, especially on a hot day. For my facial, I was asked which essential oil scent I preferred, citrus or mint. I love anything minty, so I picked that and I very much enjoyed it. The entire facial was pleasant, smelled nice, and I got an add on for the scalp massage. And holy cow, I totally recommend! I was so relaxed after the scalp massage that I didn't want to get up! I will warn you that you hair may get a lil messy after the scalp massage but it's totally worth it. I do have very thin hair, so my hair gets messy easily, so...I wasn't surprised. Post facial - my skin is so smooth and soft! I love it! Even a few days later! My skin redness has also gone down, which I love and my skin is less dry. Ya'll are awesome! I made another appointment and can't wait to go back next month!

Pro: the extractions did NOT mess up my skin the following day. Trust me. Do not get the nano restore lip, the money I spent on this hurt my soul. That's quite a bargain compared to the salons on the Mag Mile or Oak Street. Luckily I got a gift card for the holidays! I came in on a Saturday morning and was waited on right away. My esthetician, Keisha, was professional and kind as she explained the products she applied and asked what I was using. They use their own brand of products(I never did find out what CBQ stood for). Keisha asked what I used on my skin, and complimented me on a nice job, so maybe that was why she did not pressure me into buying any products. She did recommend a serum. The use of machines in addition to hands was useful; The first machine produced steam to open the pores of course, while another one was very cold, but it reduced puffiness. A third machine had a suction function. The soothing Inspirational (ok, Christian) music added to a calm, positive atmosphere. The slide show with tips on skin care such as what to avoid/add was a good substitute for lectures. My only drawback was privacy. The chairs are all in one room, the same room as the lobby, and not spaced out so much, so there was little privacy. The only private room is probably where the waxes are done. I don't have much to hide concerning my skin, but if you enjoy chatting and sharing personal info to an aesthetician, you may want to go when it's very quiet.
