The broth was flat and still had a wine taste to it. When I told the owner, he agreed that the wine taste was overpowering and told me they got a new chef who tried a new recipe and that they will go back to the old recipe. For entrees I got the lamb chops with risotto and she crab soup. The lamb was very tender but the flavor was lacking. It was also luke warm. The she crab soup was good but too salty. The owner also acknowledged that as well. The risotto was okay. Nothing special. My husband got the grilled bronzino and broccolini. I tried some and I liked the taste but he said it could have used more flavor. Broccolini was steamed and I wish they had grilled it instead. The bread pudding was the star of the entire meal. It was made of donuts. It was moist, sweet, and delicious. Drinks: We got a bottle of champagne and two cocktails. Drinks were all very good Service: This is probably why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 3. The service was very good. First, they called me prior to my reservation and asked if they could pre-chill any wine or champagne for my husband's birthday and I was very appreciative of that. When we got there, our drinks came out a little slow but our waiter comped that immediately. Throughout the night, the owner checked in on us several times and that stood out to me. Overall I will come back once they fix some things with the new chef. Hopefully the food will get better

They actually give you two pieces of steak and I took the other one home. It was cooked perfectly to a medium rare with great smokiness. The green beans were a little salty. The yuca was good. I can't wait for ours in Indian Land to open because tonight's dining was a WONDERFUL experience…read more While in town visiting family for the Labor Day weekend, they suggested this spot. Hubby and I were thrilled because one is opening near our home outside of Charlotte, NC. Make reservations! This place was packed and we quickly figured out why. Everything is so good. We didn't quite figure out the "lay of the land" but there appeared to be a designated place for tasting that was packed. We enjoyed looking at the "wine toys" while we waited for our table. There are sooooo many unique things that I can't wait to purchase from a location closer to us when it opens; traveling with glass didn't seem too smart. Our server was great and I wish I knew her name to shout her out. Ask to sample any wine you're curious about. And let me say... the sampling pours are more than just a sip. I was astonished! I chose the red flight as rendered. Everything was good. I'm not a fan of Spanish reds and should have substituted that one. Next time! They are so conscientious about food allergies and preferences that you can customize everything (except the jambalaya). I already knew before arriving (because I look at menus ahead of time) that I was getting the scallop and shrimp risotto, especially after I learned I could have it without the disgusting peas and asparagus (but with extra spinach.... I do love some veggies). It was AMAZING and will probably be the dish I always end up getting at the Indian Land, SC location when it opens. No room for dessert so you'll have to read my next review for that. 10/10

From the start, our server led with a very hard push for the wine club. I was genuinely considering joining, but the service that followed made me reconsider entirely. Throughout the meal, there were long stretches -- often 10 to 15 minutes -- where he did not check on us at all. Our reservation was for 1:15 PM, yet we were not seated until 1:30 PM, and ultimately did not leave until 3:30 PM. Unfortunately, this extended visit was not due to a leisurely dining experience, but because we were consistently waiting for our server, who appeared more focused on bussing surrounding tables than attending to ours. Empty glasses sat for 20 minutes at a time, and there was no anticipation of our needs. When I finally approached a supervisor, she apologized and offered to get refills immediately. She returned with the wrong drinks, and we did not see her again for the remainder of the meal. After it became clear that we were dissatisfied, our server seemed to withdraw even further, limiting conversation and interaction. At no point were we rude or disrespectful -- we simply wanted the level of service Cooper's Hawk is known for. It took another 20 minutes just to have our table cleared, followed by an additional 10-20 minutes before we were asked about dessert or offered the check. This was especially disappointing because some members of our party were visiting from out of town and had never experienced Cooper's Hawk before. We were celebrating a new addition to the family, and instead of enjoying the occasion, much of our time was spent waiting for basic service.

The trip was beautifully organized, and we felt cared for every step of the way. It was an unforgettable experience filled with incredible wine, amazing people, and memories we'll cherish forever. Heirloom is a well-run establishment. When you see every employee completing tasks with every movement and the owner bussing tables plus talking with patrons, this is a service-oriented business. For my wife's birthday, the service was indeed excellent. The atmosphere is Southern chic. I caution you, don't try a Saturday Evening reservation by calling Friday night. Call early in the week to ensure a Saturday feast. Heirloom sources as much of its ingredients as possible from local farmers and fishermen. It was Happy Hour so I asked what was the "bar bourbon"? Our waitress, Candice, knew exactly what I meant and told me, Evan Williams. An Old Fashion made with Evan Williams for 8 bucks, Yes Ma'am to that. My wife enjoyed a glass of crisp pinot grigio with her meal. Candice service was impeccable the entire experience. We started with Crispy Mushrooms appetizer - awesome. Our entrees were very generous portions. My wife ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, two large cakes with crispy squash fritters and succotash for the sides, old bay remoulade on the side for the crab cakes. Nothing but crab with very little binder. She loved the entire meal. I enjoyed the Honey Glazed Bone-In Pork Chop with bbq beans and potato salad for sides. The beans needed work, but the potato salad was excellent with big chucks of potato. The pork chop was star though. A huge two-bone affair grilled to perfection. I had to cut it in half and take one half home it was so large. Magnificent. We finished celebrating her birthday by sharing the S'mores Tart for dessert. Graham cracker crust with chocolate ganache layered on top, crowned with sea salt. A toasted marshmallow cream on the side with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. She was delighted. It was not overwhelming sweet. Fabulous with two cups of decaf coffee to finish. My wife enjoyed the whole experience and definitely wants to come back. She believes Heirloom was the best dining delight we've had in Virginia Beach. I certainly agree.

We visit several times a year and are always impressed by the quality. We always order the She Crab soup and a Wedge Salad as appetizers to share. They are both so good, I'd probably request them as my last meal! The She Crab soup is absolute perfection, creamy and full of lump crab. I will not order She Crab soup anywhere else after trying theirs. The wedge has pickled onions, candied bacon, blue cheese and some kind of marinated or pickled tomato. Paired all together to make the perfect bite. We have tried a lot of the menu, it does rotate around seasonally, but there are some items that are consistent. The burger was absolutely decadent but not overwhelming. I usually order the "secret", not so secret Shrimp dinner that's not on the menu anymore. You get 6 of their amazing fried shrimp, a magical dipping sauce (cant' describe it!), and 2 sides. (see what's their seasonal sides!) Heirloom will remain one of our favorite places in the 757 to celebrate special occasions!
