This place has to be in my top 5 fav wfh cafe's in nyc right now. I've always walked by this place and recently started seeing reels on it on instagram and had to come check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was not disappointed. I LOVED the ambiance and interior decoration here. It is actually really spacious and has many tables, outlets, free wifi, and a 'table read room' where it's a mini room near the back with a big table to be a bit more private if you could with a bigger group. Each seating area has its own vibe and so spacious and cute. The high chairs near the door are so cute, especially with the desk lamps. The music isn't too loud here and my friend and I were able to get a lot of work done for hours. The drinks are a bit pricey but they do come in big portion sizes (I only finished 1/4 of my drink by the time it was time to leave). There is only one bathroom but it's clean and accessible (have to see your receipt or ask a worker for the password). I loved this place so much I want to keep it hidden so that it doesn't get so crowded ): but I most definitely want to support this business for being an amazing cafe so here I am writing a review!! read more

A cute cafe in Nolita perfect for working/studying or catching up with friends. I had bookmarked this place due to its unique, film-inspired origins, and it did not disappoint. The space is beautiful, and although small, there are a good amount of seating options. I arrived at around 11:30am on a Saturday and was lucky enough to snag a seat by the window (with a directors chair!!). Definitely come early if you're planning to stay for a while, as seats definitely filled up post-12pm. As for the drinks/food, I ordered a Sesame Latte ($6) and Ginger Chai Snickerdoodle ($3.5). The Sesame Latte was creamy and nutty, though the sesame flavor was slightly overpowered by how strong the coffee was. The Ginger Chai Snickerdoodle was a good, soft cookie with nicely balanced flavors, pairing perfectly with the Sesame Latte. Coupled with the ambiance, I'd say that prices are pretty reasonable for the city. They also have free wifi and a bathroom, which is a huge plus. Came by on a Sunday afternoon to study. I got there around 2pm, and the place was packed. I ordered a black sesame latte. The latte was good. It was more heavy on the coffee than the sesame, which I preferred. However, there was a lot of sesame paste on the bottom. They have ample seating. The wifi is a bit spotty at the back of the cafe. There seems to be a good amount of outlets for chargers. There were a lot of students working there as it was finals week. I've been seeing this place all over social media and had to stop in when I found myself in the area. I loved the theming of being a place that encourages stories and specifically writing in cafes, as well as the old timey film vibe. When I came in in the late afternoon, I was lucky and snagged one of the tables that was just freeing up, but it definitely gets full. I will say though that while it gets full, it does not get loud. The tables are spaced out enough and the cafe itself big enough that noise doesn't quite travel that fast and you don't feel cramped as you do your work. I got the sesame latte, which was beautifully presented and made with care, but I'm not sure if I'd get it again. The coffee flavor was super strong (after drinking coffee throughout college, I thought I was pretty resistant to strong coffee, but turns out not)-- I got a headache from it which I have not gotten in a long time from caffeine. That said, you might like a strong coffee and therefore might appreciate this. The other thing about this latte was that it was super thick/creamy, less so liquid like lattes usually are. I absolutely love the space, though, and would come back because of it to do some work or catch up with a friend. read more

1st things first. I HATE BAD SERVICE. I don't care how good the food and drinks are, I will never come back again over bad service. The Asian guy in here, is he dead? He had absolutely no expression on his face. It seemed it annoyed him that I was ordering? So dry and no greeting or a simple "Hi". I guess it was too much for him? Also the way this place looks is so underwhelming, like like a school cafeteria; you atleast need to make up for it. As I'm writing this i notice both baristas walk away from the counter and no other coffee is being made. Umm did they forget about me? I walk up and ask the girl instead about my coffee and she says sorry about that. Ummm what???. 1st impressions are so important to me. I find myself coming back here quite often, everytime I need a good coffeeshop with reliable wifi to come back and get work done. I love this place to be honest, lots of outlets, great variety of flavorful drinks that all are overpriced but for the vibe, it doesn't matter. The baristas are all great at presentation and all the drinks look so pretty and Instagram ready if you get a hot latte for here. The bathroom is clean and well kept. Most importantly there is a great work environment. Lots of outlets, reliable wifi, and tons of people nearby also trying to get work done. No one will question you if you are trying to study for hours from opening to closing. There are really only two issues. First, their AC was broken when I last visited (I hope it's fixed) and second, it appears a lot of the city as caught on. It can get quite crowded if you come in the middle of a weekend day. Coming in a weekday morning may be the best way to guarantee seating. But overall, I truly love and would recommend this place as one of the best work cafes in NYC. The community and vibe are great. All the drinks I have got are great. A big fan of the osmanthus latte and almond crossaint combination, it comes with dried leaves of osmanthus. The almond croissants is sold, and the staff will warm it up upon request. I once got two almond croissants because they accidentally burnt the first one (it tasted fine to me, but I won't say no). Part of me wants to continue to gatekeep this place, so it doesn't get too crowded. Overall, one of my favorite cafes to study. I wish more places like here existed. read more

February 2023: Love this place and the location. This coffeeshop changes businesses every few years so I've experienced the transitions but each time downtown gets a new ambience. The theme of this coffeeshop seems to be inspired by an old school writers cafe. Many students seem to come here (as in the past) regularly to work. The service is a bit unfriendly, however, the drinks they deliver make up for that. I really enjoyed their signature lattes, especially the osmanthus latte. The price range is a bit on the higher side as well. The plus of this coffeeshop is that they're open later than other shops in the area. Their choice of decor is interesting as well as their retro green tiled bathroom. Lots of seating and some outlets. The first time I visited The Lost Draft they played music from Wes Anderson's films which was enjoyable and thematic. Overall, this place is a vibe and is a must if in the area. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. Indoor/outdoor seating available and takeout. Special private room is available to book in back for meetings. Great for working with laptops. Wifi and outlets. I have pretty mixed feelings about this place. The space is huge, which I love as a lot of nyc coffee shops are crazy small and feel cramped. Also the flavors that they have on their menu are amazing! And while the drinks are tasty, I feel like the osmanthus latte that I got tasted like it had too weak of an espresso to milk ratio, so I couldn't taste any coffee at all. Also I feel like I can't justify the price of the drinks at this place, they are so expensive and I don't mind splurging for high quality coffee but I feel like these just fall short and aren't worth the price. The drinks are gorgeous though, and the osmanthus taste was definitely my favorite part. Just feels like the drink needs another shot of espresso to balance the ratios of everything out. read more
