Where to start, Longfin. What would we do without you guys. The store itself from the outside has a lot of parking with 2 doors on both side. The inside has a lot of stuff, all the main fishing gear is on the bottom floor and on the second floor theirs is tackle boxes/acc and clothes. I've been in there 10+ times and I'm still finding stuff around the shop(their is a lot) If you go for your first time I'd recommend spend a little bit of time and look around. Was looking for a local tackle shop for some offshore setup and figured giving this place a try, was not disappointed at all. Just started to get into fishing offshore and had a budget. Cody was able to help me setup a new rod and reel and kept it within my requested budget. I was asked at least 3 times by different employees if I needed help even when the store was a bit busy with other customers, very happy with the service and experience. I go to this store about every week, maybe more. I have been here not once where the employees don't want to help.(every time I go, they ALWAYS help) the manager there is Matt. I don't know all of the other employees names, but I'm sure they know me. Every time I go, I always ask as many questions as I can as from calico bass fishing to bluefin fishing and much more. Not too expensive gear and a big selection. Definitely recommend this shop if you want to learn fishing techniques or if you even just want to buy gear. Great shop read more

Took my rod in to replace the cork covering. They quoted 1-2 weeks and $10 to $15 dollars...a week later they called back saying they don't do cork because it would be too difficult so I agreed to let them do whatever they thought would look good. After a month we called and thy said it was not ready. Almost 2 weeks later they called and said it is ready and looks great. I went to pick it up and waited 25 minutes even tho there were only a few customers in the store. So six weeks later and at a price of $30, twice what they quoted me, I got my rod....and it looked awful. Check out the pics. Never again...ever read more

We love this place so much we sport their Long Fin Logo Guy Harvey Shirt (upstairs). Not only is this place our favorite fishing supply on OC, it's also on the way home for us. We stop by here on a regular basis to get line changed and pick up terminal tackle stuff and etc. I really enjoy the shop because it's so freakin' organized and spaced (not crowded like most places) and always fully stocked and clean. Even the bathroom is clean. Plus, there's no creepy weirdos that stare me too......female's perspective. The employees are always friendly, helpful and professional. Jim can be a bit over whelming sometimes about his stories and advises...but nice. If your in a rush, avoid eye contact. It's nice to be acknowledge too...female perspective again. Other places I've been to, like to ignore chicks (unless there's something to look at). Times are hard: They have a pretty nice selection of used reels (good price) as well, that is, if you get to see any. The used reels go in and out really quick, so don't try and wait on those. They also work on any budget, no matter how small. They won't try to sell you anything outside your price range. Like the other guy said already, everything here is pretty well priced. If you looking for more heavy, fancy and expensive salt water stuff...check out Melton on State College (moved location) in Anaheim. It's pretty cool set up. A lot bigger than old location. But, unless you own your own yacht....Long Fin will do. If your into fresh water, you might wanna stop by Angler's Marine on E La Palma in Anaheim. They carry a good amount of stuff and also have boats. Their annual Fishing Show (free) is awesome, we got to meet and greet and take pictures with my fiancee's fishing idol...KVD. Other than that, we don't really go anywhere else around here. Oh, there's also Angler's Center (Newport) on Old Newport blvd. I feel like I get little claustrophobic here. They are strictly salt and a little more pricey than Long Fin...but convenient location. Their combo sets aren't really special. They say you save about $100 but if you calculate it...it's about the same as getting rod and reel separate. They had a clearance on mega baits for about $2.50, so my fiancee bought 1 of each color and size. Long Fin is by far out favorite fishing supply store in orange...BPS is probably our top pick....but too far. read more

I called back and I asked for them to see if they had it after being placed on hold again they just hung up. I called again and the guy just said we don't get lucky craft anymore and hung up rudely. Thanks to their team, I have caught my personal best for a variety of species such as Albacore, Yellowtail, Rainbow Trout, Halibut, Yellowfin, White Seabass and other species. Seriously, thanks to them for taking their time especially Eric, I was able to be successful and have many meals for myself and be able to share with others. Because of them I have been successful.! Today I went in to get my annual fishing license and wanted to get a few other things. Everything is overpriced compared to other retailers. They have a price match policy posted online and they had matched Lure prices before but today I was told that they dont match terminal tackle prices even though It does not state that on their website. Not a big deal! I asked the guy if they had a certain lure and his answer was "whatever we have is on display". They lack customer service skills and are not willing to help! The owner got back to me and is making things right by fixing my reel. Very good customer service and genuinely cared about my situation and is going to do whatever it takes to make things right. All I want is a reel handle knob replacement whether or not it's the original or aftermarket. I just started going here and I continue to stop by all the time and buy a lot of fishing supplies and will continue to do so. Their close to my house and for the most part they have everything I need in stock. One of the bigger shops around oc and a true one stop fishing tackle store. They literally carry everything here and are authorized dealers for just about every brand you can think of. I've probably been there 15-20 time in the last 3 months to shop. Recently, actually for the last two years I've been trying to find a specific fishworks and Shimano hoodie with a zipper that I bought a few years back for my boyfriend. Been to most every fishing store in the OC. The amount of items in stock, and how helpful the people are (thanks Frank) put The Longfin head and shoulders above the others. They didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need, even though I wanted it. I returned a few weeks later because I needed something faster and lighter to pair with a new reel. My experience today was great. Star #1-The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but not pushy. Star #2 -I observed the staff taking time with each customer and not rushing. Star #3-I was asked if I needed help right away, and I explained I would soon, but for now I was just looking. (I did-listen in as the staff explained things to other customers.) Star #4- huge selection of all things angler- rods, reels, (new and used) as well as lures, line, clothing and other accessories. These guys are awesome! Top notch customer service from Eric. I haven't fished for over 5 years so I needed to get all new gear. I usually go on 1.5 day trips. I bought 3 reels and 4 rods here and had to go somewhere else for the other reel since they didn't have it in stock. Coincidentally, the reel I bought at another store had issues after only 2 months. Went back to the other store and was literally told I should've done a better job servicing the reels myself. I went into Longfin to figure out what my options were and Eric took care of me beyond my expectations. He's a straight up guy, no BS. Great crew/family! read more
