Saturday: Visited for a bicycle tune-up consultation near Chapman College/Orange Circle area. Discussed needed services with friendly mechanic: rear cassette, chain, spoke repair, derailleur adjustment. Due to their busy day, agreed to return Tuesday for pricing/terms when me and the mechanic could speak more about terms. Tuesday: Kim (likely the owner) said the mechanic was at lunch (30+ mins). I left my bike; she promised he'd call upon returning. She called 30 minutes later but wouldn't connect us--just offered another callback. He never called. Wednesday: Another mechanic confirmed a $200 estimate but wouldn't commit to exact cost. Promised to call before repairs. No call came. Next day: Received voicemail saying bike was ready. Upon arrival, Kim rushed to retrieve it from the back. When I requested an itemized invoice before paying, she said "It will print out after you pay." After transaction: Bill was nearly $90 over estimate. They replaced brake pads without asking (they were fine), charged for a "SEVERE" alignment without permission or notification, and added $20 for "shop supplies and disposal." When challenged, Kim claimed the mechanic told me the cost and asked if he called (he didn't). She brought the mechanic over--he admitted fixing the spoke but denied charging for it. She almost threw the receipt back, saying "there you go." He also admitted that he had promised to call me before proceeding and didn't. This is a family owned and operated business which I support % they helped educate and got us into great bikes the my kids loved. The cost were close to the online cost and got all the extras that we wanted with the bikes phone. I bought my first beach cruiser at Orange Cycle when I was 14 and I've been back in over the years to browse but never with intention of buying anything. Every time I am greeted by friendly staff that are eager to help with whatever I need. A month or so ago, at 59, I stopped in with the intention of looking at e-bikes to buy. Nate helped me look at their selections and we narrowed it down to two options. I was undecided and told him I'd be back after some research. Last week I went in and test rode two bikes to narrow my selection process and Nate helped me once again. I thought about it overnight and the next day Nate helped me purchase my Aventon Aventure-M. He is very knowledgeable and gave me the confidence I was purchasing the correct bike for my needs. Their pricing is competitive but in all honesty, the lower prices I found online don't come with the high quality of customer service and personal attention you get at Orange Cycle. This is sort of long but I can't say enough about his, and the entire staff's, customer service. Everyone is passionate about what they do and more than willing to help anyone out with their needs. Orange cycle you've done it again! Lately I've been having issues with getting flats just because people litter and I ride my bike everywhere. Taking my bike to this crew is so solid. Easy going, know their stuff, quick and just fun to talk to. The products they have are great to, I swear I buy a lil something for my bike each time I'm there. Short version Be careful here. Verify the model year yourself and don't assume the signage or staff are giving you correct information. Get the return policy in writing. Long version They have a Specialized Diverge Comp E5 that was marked down from $2,499 to $1,999. I found this odd because $1999 is the MSRP for the 2025 model. Salesperson could not explain this so I just assumed it was just an inflated price, sort of like a car dealer markup. I asked the salesperson if it was the 2025 model. He said yes so I bought the bike, but left it in store cause I didn't bring the right car to take it. At home, I tried to register the bike using the serial number, I found out it was a 2023 model. When I called asking for a refund, they kept calling it a 2024 model, because the "2023 and 2024 model share same specs". Then they said they'd charge a restocking fee (the bike was still in the store). Then they changed it to a 6% fee ($120 for running the credit card and compensation for the salesperson's time). I offered to split the fee -- maybe I misheard, who knows -- but they refused. Terrible customer service. I called on a Saturday and asked if I could bring my E-bike in. I called Tuesday to ask for an update. They said they don't repair bikes on the weekends and my bike was next in line to be reviewed. I called three days later. They had my bike for one week. I paid for the $40 diagnosis and I picked up my bike. I bought all the parts online and I am installing them myself. So I gave them one star for the diagnosis, but their customer service skills are terrible. read more

TLDR: Omar, the mechanic is dishonest. Shop with poor communication, incorrect diagnostics, messed up my bike, and up-charged costs. Your money and time is best spent elsewhere. I purchased a specialized Allez road bike from this store and brought it in for a 90-day complimentary service with the request to shorten the steering tube. Was quoted $10 for labor and $10 for parts, but this quote was incorrect (for metal tube cutting). The mechanic, Omar, was unaware of my bike's carbon steering tube, despite selling me this bike. He did not check bike specifications until he cut my steering tube, damaged a component before realizing that it was a carbon tube. What made matters worse was that he lied about calling me the "same day" about needing to order other parts for this job and then quoting me $70 for the whole fix. Omar 5/5 times will tell you that he will call you back and never call. I could not take back my bike as he had already cut my steering tube. I was locked into this job without re-consenting and had to find out by calling the shop, looking for answers. My bike was kept at the shop for 2.5 weeks. What made matters even worse is that the part was never ordered until a week and a half later. Spoke with the manager, John, who apologized and actually investigated. Stated that part was ordered, but did not satisfy the $50 order minimum from the supplier and was thus on hold. But, because my part was damaged during the cutting process, they needed to order new part for $10 that I had to pay $50 for. I had to check with the manager to confirm the status of the bike because Omar never called me. When I received my bike, the steering tube was cut shorter than requested. I explicitly told the receptionist and Omar that I wanted the steering tube to be shortened to the steering tube cap, but Omar registered it as cut 1.5 inches. They had to substitute my OEM steering tube cap for some FSA component that was not even flush with my bike. Stated that this was a free "upgrade." Thank you for giving me a part I never asked for. In the end, no one took responsibility for the mistakes made. It was likely my fault for trusting my business in this shop. Also, other bike shops quote the same job for carbon steering tubes at $20. They offer faster, cheaper bike servicing without the hassle of working with dishonest repairmen. read more

This is the best service I may have ever gotten from any service center ever, they went above and beyond for me to help fix my Ebike and went to great lengths to make sure my bike was in mint condition especially Nate, he knew it was my only mode of transport and went out of his way to come fix something on my bike near the shop when I ran into a snag. Salesman name was Joe, he was friendly and helpful, he had us test drive several models until we found the right one. This store had a good selection of bikes and some good specials. Now my reason for the low rating. Joe gave us a quote for labor and parts then when I decided on the accessories I wanted, Joe repeatedly told me $70 for labor. I asked him to give me a written estimate, the written estimate for the parts and labor never materialized. I then called the owner for a written estimate. To my surprise she acted like she didn't understand what I wanted, she played dumb. On the day I picked up the bike with everything installed, I was shocked to see the final bill was 2 1/2 times of the original verbal quote. The parts were heavily marked up, labor charge was outrageous. I asked Joe what happened to the original verbal quote and Joe replied "they wanted to charge you more $$$". But I said no" salesman joe basically played DUMB. I paid the outrageous parts and labor charge and will never go back to orange cycles . In my own opinion, I'm sure there are honest bike shops out there and orange cycles is not one of them read more

Called spoke to Alejandro after some guy rushed me off the phone. All I was asking was if they stocked a brake lever. Alejandro was nice said yes and he would install them both. ($500+). I said id come down. Came in and one guy was helping a customer. The other three didn't acknowledge me. I asked if anyone was Alejandro and they smirked. The one man helping a customer said to hold someone would be with me. I was going to do both of my Super73 full hydraulic set Shimano Deore.
