Tried a little of everything but I came for a good hot dog. I had a beef frank, they also have turkey and veggie dogs. They have all the toppings, and everything comes on a poppyseed bun. My bun unfortunately became very soggy. I still ate the dog and it was solid. French fries were average, but the wings and onion rings were excellent. Lots of sauce and rub options. Service was quick, and the waitress was on it! It was busy and our food came quickly, and our large party was well cared for. It's a small place but I could still have a conversation with everyone at the table. They even allowed for us to bring in the birthday cake. Over all a nice place to try a verity of hot dogs and other "bar" food with some nice nightly specials. read more

One of my favorite game day destinations. Perfect spot for bar food, watching sports, having a couple beers or glasses of wine, and hanging out! They have touch tunes/AMI, all the sports games/channel packages, they have darts and shuffle board, Trivia on Tuesday nights, great food from next door (D's Six Pax and Dogs) just a good time and worth checking out! 10/10 read more

u rate this restaurant as a 1 due to the most recent visit, however, we have had a middle of the road visit before. The outdoor seating area is a nice vibe. But they really need to work on training people. Tired of the young girls with giant attitudes. We made a reservation several weeks in advance for a party of six. When we arrived, they showed us to a table on the inside, when we requested outside. This however, was not recorded as our request so we had to sit inside. We were missing a chair for one of the guests in our party. The highschooler said we'll find you a chair. She did not return with a chair while we were all standing waiting. my husband proceeded to the hostess stand after about six or seven minutes of waiting for a chair to arrive and received big the blonde high schooler and the dark haired highschooler at the hostess stand. When he said this is not how people should be treated and you should not be seating people without having all the chairs. An old man sitting on a bench by the bathroom chimed in and said you're an asshole to my husband. Don't know who that old guy was, but he was also rude. I think he had something to do with the restaurant. So we decided to leave and not go back ever. The food is not that great for us to be worried about trying to frequent a restaurant with a mediocre vibe and rude hostesses. read more

I'm between a 3 and a 4 for the Loft. Depends on what you come here for. Low key, quiet, beer.. then definitely a 4. The food? I lean more towards a 3. I have been here several times and it has always been quite empty. This includes happy hour weekdays and weekend nights. Always odd to me how empty it is. There is always a good selection of beer and the bartenders are very friendly. They are owned by D's which is right below it. I just always wonder how they keep the Loft open. Unless I'm somehow missing the days when all the people go! read more

I'm sorry, but I liked this place. Maybe it's because I came here to drink, not eat. That's what a bar is for, at least it is to me. If you wanted food, maybe you should have stayed downstairs, jus' sayin'. This is a great little place up in here. Yes, I do mean up in here, you need to go upstairs, hence the name. To me, it seems to be a perfect space for a bar, and they used the space the best they could. The bar is perfect, enough seats for any bar dweller that enters. A couple of high tops complete that area. A few steps (up, that is) to the left as you enter is another area for seating, this area also houses the two dart boards. When I was here, the place was kind of dead, perfect for a low key night when all you want to do is get a drink and stare at whatever they chose to be on the TV. The bartender was polite and on top of her game. She never missed a beat when a patron asked for a drink. I also found that the other bar goers were just as nice as someone you bump into on the street. Ironically my friend and I struck up a conversation with two people we bumped into outside. There appears to be no judgments being made here. Drink specials every night of the week, and they are open every night of the week. Credit cards accepted. Six packs to go. And the most awesome thing to me, they will put together a 'Mystery Craft Sixer' for you to take for an extremely reasonable price. read more

Nothing bad to say! Nothing great to say either, though. A coworker of mine loves this place though, so she'd probably give it 5 stars. I've only been there once so far, however, and I need a little more time. We went for happy hour one evening. There were a few other patrons, seeming to have a good time. The bartender was mildly attentive. They have decent weekly drink specials. Everything seemed clean. I will definitely go back and try a cocktail instead of a beer. read more

Katie and I were spent; too much going on in our lives- we needed a few drinks to help us unwind. It was a typical Thursday night in Regent Square; pedestrians were out picking up their dry-cleaning (trying not to get hit by cars as they crossed Braddock Avenue), having dinner, and running errands. We weren't interested in doing anything productive- we needed cold beer and talk-therapy. Neither of us had been to The Loft, so we decided to give it a try. The Loft is located above D's Six Pack and Dogz. There's a small glass door that opens up to a long staircase...up, up, up... As I ascended the stairs I had no idea what to expect; I just wanted a cold, frothy brew, and to relax. We go to the top of the stairs, made a quick right turn, and there it was: The Loft. A surprisingly clean bar, with high end finishes, and an extensive selection of draft and bottled beers, mixed drinks, and yes, even cigars. Impressive. We sat down at the bar and immediately noticed the polished black granite; nice touch. My drinking partner and I ordered a few pints of Hoegaarden, and were served some freshly-popped popcorn. As we ate the salty, buttery popped kernels of corn, the bartender/manager served us our beers with two large slices of fresh lemon (not lemon-jerky like you find in most bars). Katie and I happily drank away. The beer was deliciously fresh and flavorful- I had never had lemon in beer; it was surprisingly refreshing. We sipped our first drink, and looked around the bar. I noticed how clean everything was, from the floors, to the counters, and even the windows; it looks like the manager may be compulsive about her cleaning schedule. Case in point: I accidentally dropped my lemon on the floor and asked for another. The bartender asked, "Where is the lemon now? It's not still on the floor, is it...?" The bar is smoke-free, but if you want to light up a cigarette, or cigar, step out onto the small enclosed deck, or into the Man Cave. Yes, there's a Man Cave...complete with recliner, dart boards, televisions, and loud music. Cool. Check out The Loft if you haven't yet- it's a smaller-sized bar, with an intimate atmosphere...and GREAT happy hour prices. I can't say that I like the loft. I mean they have TV's and a projector with a big screen and their beer offerings were not bad but I didn't like the way that they do food. By that I mean they don't have food. In a strange turn of events they allow you to order from D's Six Packs and Dogs which is cool but they pretty much just allow you to eat it in the loft. I find it kind of useless to have to go to another bar to get food just to bring it to another bar to eat it. I mean it's right below the restaurant couldn't they like go and get it and then just add it your tab or something. I guess not. I think the only reason you would want to go here is if you can't get into D's. read more

This place is pretty laid back, and I always find at least 2 seats together, one for myself and one for whoever I'm hangin with. Always a plus. The bartenders are typically pretty attentive, even when they're busy. They ask if I want a lime in my Jamison ginger ale, then remember my preference. Yes. I did have one poor experience with an inattentive bartender, but I think that he might have been new and training, so it's cool. They have a nice smoking room back past the bathrooms. It's kind of like a sauna. I don't smoke cigarettes, but it's very private and there's rarely many people in there. read more

I am surprised to be The Loft's first Yelp review! I checked in last night while at the bar and asked a couple friends if it was a new place. No, they said, it's been around probably 3 years. Hmm... interesting. The Loft is on the small side with over half the space taken up by a very large bar. The bar is able to seat probably 40-50 people. There is also another room just a stair-step and half-wall away with darts and high top tables. While I was there, a large group of about 15 or so people had pushed together all the tables and were hanging out in that space. Since it's September, I would normally order a pumpkin beer. However, I tried my husband's and thought it was terrible. Now, I like girly drinks, but this beer was sickeningly sweet. Plus, they lined the rim of the glass with (I believe) cinnamon sugar which made the glass, my hand, and the table a sticky mess. On top of the messiness, this took the beer to a whole new sweet level. Needless to say, I ordered something else - a Breckenridge Autumn Ale, which was absolutely delicious. The odd part about The Loft is that there is no kitchen. However, they provide D's Six Pax & Dogz menus for you to order from. My thought was that the process would work like this... a) Select menu items, b) Order with bartender, c) D's delivers the items. But, oh no, it's more complicated than that. It works like... a) Select menu items, b) Go downstairs and next door to order from D's OR call them from your cell phone (but the number is nowhere on the menu, so either use Google on your phone or hope you have a friend on hand who has the number), c) After 20 minutes or so, walk over (or back over) to D's to pick up your to-go order, packed up in styrofoam containers. I almost gave this place only 1 star, but though it was odd and though I don't plan on going back any time soon, it wasn't that terrible. My recommendation would be to just go to D's Six Pax itself and skip this place altogether. read more

A very friendly group of people run this place. I was there for yesterday's Yelp event and enjoyed my time there. Dino is great and very personable and a joy to talk to. I am strictly writing my review based on the event that I attended so it may be a little different than a regular review. The beer selection was great (white lightning on tap, couldn't go wrong with that). From what I could see the beers were priced decently the 5-6 dollar range. The hot dogs were great (if the food situation is the same as addressed in the past 2 reviews then I think it might need to be rethought). They can definitely try to make it easier for the customer to order food from D's but have it taken up to where they are. There's a dart board, jukebox and according the the people running the place they will be starting trivia soon. I would be more than happy to make the trek to regent sq for trivia. They should definitely try to do some kind of trivia special (I can attest a lot of grad students will love going to trivia, especially if there are some specials). This seems like a great place to just chill and have a few beers. The bartenders and servers are very personable and I enjoyed talking to everyone there. Give it a go, I will definitely like to check it out when it's not an event. Oh, lots of TVs as well so watching a game should definitely be fun there if you get a decent crowd read more

Good place to go after getting a bite to eat at D's down below if you want to carrying on your evening in the same place. The Loft can get a little packed, so come early if you want a seat. And, FYI, seating is definitely limited. What's cool is that you can bring food up from D's, as well as bottled beer from the beer cave if something you want isn't offered upstairs. read more

This is a good venue for an event or a medium sized party- I was here for the Yelp event a few months ago. From what I gathered, this part of the bar is exclusive to events like the one we had. There was a front area with a bar with some very good tap selections. The back was a bit more open area and some bathrooms in the very back. The staff was incredibly friendly and the booze very good. I've been looking into places to have a big 30th birthday celebration, and depending on how much an event would cost here I would definitely consider the space. read more
