Urine filled briefs left on floor of dementia patients rooms, feces on floor and refused to clean up, lost belongings, residents spoken down to and belittled for having to use personal items intended for children. Residents yelled at by restaurant staff. Refused food. Food not given. Management staff refusing to respond to family emails and voice mails. Residents accused of things that aren't true. Lying about residents and family members. Twisting and lying when families are told things. Terrible facility director. Nick D'Erminio. Puts on a happy face but when concerns are made but is a professional gaslighter and manipulative behavior on his end. Blames and shames residents and family members instead of his own incompetence. Very condescending and belittling! Assisting living nurse manager incompetent. Untrained, uneducated, and uncaring staff. Was told the very first day, by an aide, that we should hire private care for family member if we want good care. Direct debited over $2000 out of bank account without authorization and over charges without even an apology. So technically stealing from family members. Refuse to recognize family medical doctor ordered POA status. Again, great location, pretty place, all shiny on the outside but a mess on the inside. No wonder place is still half empty two years after being open. Run!!!!!! You get what you pay for.

I'm leaving this review based on my experience while providing care to a resident at Maple Knoll…read more Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed and uncomfortable with what I witnessed. During my time there, I observed situations where a resident's call light remained on for an extended period while staff members were sitting in the hallway talking and laughing. I found myself having to assist with many of the resident's needs because staff were not responding as promptly as I would have expected. I understand that I am there to provide support, and I am more than willing to help, but there are certain things I cannot do because I do not have the same access or responsibilities as facility staff. I also witnessed interactions from some staff and therapy personnel that came across as impatient and unkind. Residents in a care facility deserve patience, dignity, compassion, and prompt attention--especially when they are asking for assistance. What bothered me most was seeing staff socializing and laughing in the hallway while a resident was waiting for assistance. Whether or not there were other circumstances I was unaware of, the situation did not give me confidence in the level of attentiveness being provided. I'm sharing this because I genuinely hope management takes these concerns seriously. The residents deserve better. They deserve to feel cared for, respected, and heard--not like they are an inconvenience.

No doctor or nurse practitioner bothered to evaluate the patient when she was complaining of extreme pain before making medication decisions, and ignored recommendations from hospice nurse. Arrogant LPN who asked patient to state her pain level from 1-10, and when patient replied 9, the LPN said "you don't look like you're a 9." Definitely a "we know best" philosophy that does not prioritze the patient. When patient was being cleaned by nurses, family was subjected to listening to patient screaming "I hope you are killing me because I can't take any more of this." Horrific experience. We moved her to the nursing facility at the Kenwood Senior Star where she had wonderful, patient centric and empathetic care. What a mistake to subject our mother to MPL.

By not including any less than complimentary comments a clear picture is not being presented. My mother (and my father until his passing) lived in the Seasons community for 11 years - 9 years at Seasons and 2 years at Courtyard. The years in independent living was tolerable - Courtyard, not so much. The lack of staffing, particularly at night, was very concerning. When you have one nurse on duty and a scattering of aides handling 3 floors of elderly residents, this is makes for a less than ideal assisted living arrangement. Care conferences were never held, repairs requested for her apartment (broken tile in bathroom - possible trip hazard), thorough apartment cleaning as stipulated in lease agreement each took over a year to achieve. Other than an ideal location there is nothing ideal about Courtyard. My mother at age 96 passed away recently and no one in the management of Senior Lifestyle had the humanity to even utter condolences to our family. Concerns regarding the facility were also voiced to the President of Senior Lifestyle in their Chicago headquarters and has also been completely ignored. Would NOT recommend this facility to any family looking for an assisted living facility.

My family was very pleased with my dear mother's stay at Seasons for short term rehab.  From the…read moremoment she arrived until she was discharged, she was treated with the highest level of professionalism and compassionate care.  The facility is very nice, very clean, safe, and we felt very safe with the covid protocol that was in place.  Her room was lovely and everyone was very accommodating and responsive.  All of the staff/administration were very helpful, approachable, knowledgeable, kind, considerate, and went above the call of duty to make my mother's stay a great experience.  We appreciated the friendly and hard working housekeeping staff, food staff, and all of the workers whom we encountered from day to day!  The food was good/prepared well and extra care was taken to ensure I was served meals with regard to my nutrition restrictions.  Heartfelt and special thanks to the Therapy Dept., Nursing Staff/Medical Team and the Social Worker!  They worked tirelessly to provide the highest level of care that we have received anywhere and it was absolutely the primary reason for such a great and successful outcome.  We would highly recommend Seasons to any family looking for great, quality care!

That place ended up being awful, and we were desperate to find a place where we knew she would be surrounded by people who cared, as well as being cared FOR. A friend, who also has a parent at Artis, told me about it, and how much they liked it. I went and met with Jerry and went on a tour. We proceeded from there to get my mom moved as quickly as possible from the first place. Best best thing we ever did. I am so insanely grateful that she is now with people who are warm and caring. They communication I get is fantastic, and I always feel like I know how my mom is doing. And, she has started to take part in activities. If you know my mom, you know that this practically a miracle. The ONLY way she would ever do this, is if she felt welcome, and like she was around nice people. She even has friends there! They also have events that family members can take part in. I can't say enough, I really can't. It is really the perfect fit for my mom. Oh - have to add, that they have a beautiful and SAFE outdoor area that the residents can spend time in. We love this part!

We filed a notice with the state. We spoke to another resident's family a few months after my dad died and their family members had also contracted scabies. It's surprising to find out that it is a not-for-profit facility which means that once you are in they will keep you even if you run out of money. A lot of thought has been put into everything there and can give you some peace of mind.
