Love this place. I have been a resident for a year now. The staff is excellent with a few minor exceptions. Call light times could use improvement along with more and experienced staffing. The staff they got works hard everyday to be their best. As far as cleanliness goes it's getting better daily with little in the way of smells. Food is good but could be better. Activities are top notch they are genuinely concerned about entertaining residents. When you walking in you are greeted by the best receptionist. Would definitely recommend. 4 stars read more

My father-in-law stayed at Meadowbrook and was left waiting 30-40 minutes multiple days when he pressed his call button. No one came. We saw it ourselves. This place let him down badly. Please think twice before trusting them with someone you love. read more

PLEASE don't send a loved one to Meadowbrook Care Facility. It is NOT safe. Due to neglect, unskilled nursing, understaffing and poor communication, within 10 days of being admitted, our mother was transported to the nearest ER by EMT's with a life threatening infection due to the inadequate care given to her. Our family was NEVER notified by the facility or staff member that she had been transported to the ER. When we went in the next day to retrieve her belongings, we asked the nurse that had called 911 why our family was not informed. She replied, "your mother is and adult, had a phone, so I thought she would call?" Really??????? The "Wound Care" and "Ostomy Care" services were beyond negligent. Our family and discharging nurse from the hospital were told by the Director of Meadowbrook that there was a skilled wound nurse to treat surgical wounds and their staff was trained and competent in Ostomy care. Unfortunately, this was not true and not only did our mother wait hours for help with a burst ostomy bag, she was cleaned up with paper towels. It was horrible and humiliating. Our mother ended back in the hospital for 5 weeks with a very bad infection and abscess in her abdomen. We called Meadowbrook several times and there was no answer. They evidently had no one working the front desk answering phones on the weekend. When we couldn't reach our mother OR anyone to check on her wellbeing, we asked a family friend, who was also an RN to check on her. The managing staff and nursing staff are unresponsive and difficult to reach. When we checked Meadowbrook out, it seemed to be a fairly nice facility. We were raised in Montgomery, a mile away from this facility. It was a frightening experience. I'm writing this detailed review because I don't want anything as terrible as this to happen to a loved one admitted to Meadowbrook. I also hope this experience is noted for ALL of the staff at this facility to make changes to ensure the SAFETY and wellbeing of incoming patients. read more

I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy for employment or residency. The staff is very inconsiderate, disrespectful, and experienced discriminatory behavior. Cleanliness is a 6/10 Food is a 5/10 on a good day. I can definitely say I will never be back and neither will my family. Do better meadowbrook. read more

I wish they had negative stars . . . family member was transferred from Jewish Hospital to Meadowbrook on Tuesday night - room was dirty, no phone (because maintenance had to plug it in the next day), which is ridiculous, anyone can plug in a phone. NO A/C!! It was 81 degrees in her room!! I was told by the maintenance man that the nighttime temperatures had to be above 50 degrees for several days before they could turn on the AC because it's an old boiler system and because the weekend temps are predicted to drop, they couldn't turn the heat back on once they turn it off. I immediately went to work to transfer my family member out of the facility and the I needed staff to fax the paperwork to the new facility., I was told they did it, but the new facility did not receive, so I asked again and after being told they did it 4 times, the new facility never received it. I then drove to the facility while on the phone on hold for 30 minutes while driving my home to the facility and no one ever answered. I then went in and complained that I'm being told it's sent and yet it's not there. The staff member started to fax it in front of me and it fed at least 20 pages through at a time, and then happened again. Obviously they never actually faxed it before in my opinion. I then told her that I would just take a copy and send it myself. My family member would push the call button and no one would show up for over an hour. She has to have help to the restroom and to a chair. My family member had to call me and then I had to contact the nurses station to get them to respond to her!! One administrative person stood over this 70+ frail woman and said I heard you've been causing trouble since you got here. I came in and said she wasn't, but I was because this is the most unprofessional, poorly managed medical facility I've ever seen!!! The staff was rude (probably because they were all miserable from the heat). Jewish Hospital Social Worker recommended this facility - said it was like a resort! I feel sorry for her if that's her idea of a resort. I feel money must be passed for that referral!! Don't send anyone there, ever!! read more

My loved one has fallen three times in one week. They were told to urinate in their diaper. After the call light is lit, no one comes for a very long time. The food is extremely low quality, salty. If your loved one needs help eating, they won't get it. This leaves them not eating. The water is never cold when we come to visit and we visit different times each day. Loved one must not be drinking enough. They are put into kitchen area to eat and left there for hours. They are not bathed or cleaned up at all. Only wipes are used occasionally. Most of the staff is good when we're there. Attentive and kind. Some are not. The real issue is that this is a for profit center and the investors are getting all the money, not paying staff enough and not putting money into quality of care. I hope karma treats them the same one day. read more

Very dirty, the mop/broom/dust pan keeps spreading the dirtiness - so disgusting...please throw them out and get new ones!. Bathrooms are seldom touched. One nursing staff in particular fails in every category in my humble opinion - too bad my family member had him several times. The equipment is very old and dirty, never gets cleaned. My family member was transferred into this place very last minute from the hospital, we didn't choose this place. Betty management could stop a lot of problems, also spending more money on bad/outdated equipment. Rust on everything that is metal. So glad we are out of this place, my family member that stayed there said it was a nightmare living there. read more

If I could give zero I would. Negligence, arrogant staff, impatient with the residents. My grandma had no issues with falling or getting around - once she moved in here within the first month she fell twice - both times having to be hospitalized for days afterwards. She passed away now and I directly blame the lack of care of this center. She could have had another ten years. read more

I'm so happy I chose Meadowbrook for Rehab after a fall landed me in the hospital for a few days! The staff were all great, almost never had to wait for a call bell to be answered, the meals arrived on time and hot, with a really great variety of menus. Long, hot showers twice a week, pleasant staff & residents, a room that looked out onto a courtyard with several bird feeders that were lots of fun to watch while eating my breakfast. The permanent residents were friendly and are up and about, walking, talking with one another, watching TV in the lobby, not drugged to avoid needing care. Several activities every day, including my favorite, Bingo! That always had a large turn-out! Got to go to the monthly Birthday Party, with music, lemonade & desserts. Their therapists are all great -- I was up and walking again within a few days and back home on my own in about 10 days. read more

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place! It is horrible. Not enough help. Food is ridiculously awful and can't even be chewed. They let patients go for 8 hours or more before changing them. They don't help people eat who are unable to feed themselves. There are ants crawling on the floor. My sister had to clean and mop the floor in my mom's room to keep the ants away. The manager is the most mean, awful, uncaring person that I have every met. The smell is horrendous. The staff goes from room to room without gloves or masks and Covid runs rampant. My mom almost lost her foot due to an untreated infection and I had to call from Florida and threaten them to get a doctor to look at her. They move Covid patients into the same room as non-Covid patients and spread the illness. Let me just mention that most of the items that we sent to my mom "disappeared." Too bad that you have to give them a star at all. read more

My mother lived at Meadowbrook for a short time before her death. Our family had a wonderful experience during her stay. The layout and main room of the building where the residents eat is open, airy and bright. The employees go above and beyond to give residents personal care and everyone from the maintenance crew to the kitchen staff help out when patients need assistance. If you are looking for a small, homey place where people are kind and caring you will love it at Meadowbrook. read more

First, look at a lot of different homes before you choose one. If you do pick Meadowbrook you have to be there to make sure your mom or dad get good care. I've seen call lights on for over 10 minutes and residents have literterally had accidents in bed and laid in it because an aid wasn't there to walk them to the restroom. I was shocked at the filthy conditions of the showers .there are no private baths and only 1 shower on each wing. So like 50 people have to use the same shower and evertime I looked in the shower it was dirty. I know I wouldn't take a shower in there, If you have a complaint all you get is lip service and bull from the staff and the administrator on head nurse. The only time they take a complaint seriously is when someone calls the board of health. Mom passed away qyear snd a half ago. I live in California. But I think she'd still be with us if they put her in a better home. read more

Although touted as wonderful it is not. During this time when family can't go in to check on their loved one all you have is their word. My mother was very cognitive and for 3 months only had 4 showers & 1 sponge bath. Unable to use her hands much due to Parkinsons' often her meal tray was brought & left across the room. Instead of calling for help to bring it to her or even open the milk carton she would call family. We could call the nurse station for help quicker because once a resident calls it is at least an hour before going to see what is the problem. Once it was time for her to come home from 100 day rehab they thought they were going to make her a resident. Scare tactics of super expensive home care. We were told average $9,000 a month. They are not interested in helping you find care thru services. Call your local county Sr. Services, hospice, doctor & there is Medicare paid 5-6 hrs. a week nurse, care giver for help. They are not interested in helping family learn how to take care of their loved one at home. No instructions written or otherwise. They say they are so concerned for the person to go home but it has been a week & they haven't called to check once. More scare tactics: they will poop their pants in the middle of the night & you will have to clean it. My mother did say they did a good job cleaning her when they re-diapered but once up in morning they are not changed until after breakfast. Middle of the night changes by strangers is unpleasant too. I hope we do not experience any nursing home again. This one & all other I have known from friends does not have enough help. Oh and they pay their aides $12 an hr. but tell you it'll cost you $25 an hr. to find help. My mother is home & although has incontinent issues she uses the toilet. You wouldn't believe the mood & perked up attitude of someone with family in there own home. read more

My mother suffered from full-blown Alzheimer's. When she became a danger to herself at her home with my Dad we chose to put her into Meadowbrook after looking into many different care facilities. You walk into a lot of facilities in the middle of the beautiful afternoon and the patients are drugged up sleeping or incapacitated not at Meadowbrook. This place was full of life buzzing with activities happy staff happy people. when the time did come that my mother started to actively die I did not want her to be alone and they actually moved her into another room at no charge put my dad in a bed next to her at no charge fed him so she was able to hold the hand of her loving husband while she passed. my parents are not millionaires but they've worked their entire life unfortunately the system does not help people like that when they become old so my mother had to go on Medicaid. whether she had $1000000 or was on Medicaid she was treated no differently. Meadowbrook was a godsend and they let my mother die with dignity. Trust me I was there every single day I didn't miss a thing. read more
