Was in Bemidji en route to go ice fishing. I didn't know where to go but when I saw Paul Bunyan…read moreRoad I knew that I'd be in throes of chain restaurant row. My buddy and I saw the local Applebee's and knew that there really was but one choice. We were going I be eating good in the neighborhood. Rolled up in around 11am. Would I like the larger beer for an extra buck? That's a dumb question. It's 11. So be sure to have a back up in queue because I'm ready to hit it hard. Wings are 1/2 price you say? Fire up two orders and point me to the bathroom so I know where I'll be headed in 45 minutes. Oh yeah. Get xl beer 3 ready. I'm in Bemidji and it's time to party. The first shift bartender cheerfully obliges and humors my friend and I from the opening bell until her sift ends and the new bartender comes on. What a gal. Does she look familiar? Spearmint Rhino? Maybe. But I digress. At this point we think it is a great idea to order frozen blue drinks. And it IS a great idea. There is no way I'm gonna be hung over tomorrow. Anyhoo. Bartenders were great. Had a fun time. Stopped in again after ice fishing a few days later. Got really drunk. Applebee's food tasted like Applebee's. Definitely saw a local with an escort at the bar. That made for more fun. At was also as we were all approaching blackout drunk. My mom would be mortified if I yelled something about a hooker inside of an Applebee's. That's only acceptable talk at church.

We, in fact, did not know & answered such. We were seated immediately with a run down on the gent that would be taking the stage shortly & a run down on how the blue oyster came to be... because they grow blue oyster mushrooms. Speaking of, the blue oyster mushroom app is NOT to be missed. I'd come back for that alone. As a matter of fact, I tried to today on the way home but they're closed Sun. Service was friendly & leisurely. We both ordered cocktails & both agreed that we wouldn't again. $8 was a reasonable price & they did use decent liquor in them. They just weren't really our kind of drinks, a bit too sweet & colorful for our bitter tastebuds. As I mentioned, the mushroom app was FANTASTIC & I'd highly recommend it. I opted for the Cajun Pasta - very good, creamy, cheesy sauce - tho very Norwegian spice level. I'll call it Norw-ajun vs Cajun. The hubs had the fried rice. It was a solid dish. We were overly full with the 2 dishes and an app. We agreed that next time we would order the app & 1 dish to split, no cocktails - or at least not any off the featured menu. All in all, we found pricing reasonable, food to be tasty, drinks would be a hit for many & service good but not fast. Glad we found it!

Good food, easy downtown location on the second floor of a historic building. The appetizers we…read moreordered were delicious - Chicken Parmesan soup, Caesar salad, Moo Ping. The salmon was decent, if a little overcooked. Service was very friendly, but slow. I'm not sure if they're understaffed, but it definitely took some waiting to take orders & get us food. Would try again.
