Had lunch at Keg N' Cork on a weekday. Our server ( young brunette) was on top of her game and definitely should get them tips!!! As I said I was there for lunch with my Mom, she raved about this place. She said we had to start off with the Beaver Droppings (I'm pretty sure that was the name) basically cream cheese puffs with jalapenos, really good but spicy!!! I had the blue burger with fries, it was good a little dry. Mom had the fish taco, she said it was super yummy and huge! She's glad she just got 1 and not 2, she opted for onion rings. Just returned home from the Keg N Cork. I went down by myself or a few beers after work and was considering having something to eat. Most of my usual hangouts were packed but I pulled right up in front of the door and there was plenty of parking at 5:45 and hardly anybody inside other than some pool league people and a half dozen at the bar. I sat at a table and the waitress brought a beer and a menu but she never returned to my table. I went up to the bar for my drinks for the remainder of the time I was there. They weren't at all busy. She walked past me three or four times when she finally decided to wait on the other table that had already been there waiting for a while. No comment to me as she passed and no eye contact. Had she looked, she would have seen my beer was empty. But she didn't. I am a local and I have gone there a lot over the years and it used to be a good place. However, I have had a similar lack of service on a couple of other recent visits. I didn't think much of it at the time but It seems to be becoming a trend. The one waitress seemed preoccupied with the boyfriend at the bar and was either off duty at that point or just didn't care. The "bartender" was casually eating her food and was quite content to have me come to the bar for my drinks rather than actually waiting on me at my table. The owner of the establishment lost at least $30 - $40- on me tonight, the wait staff got no tip, and I came home and made a grilled cheese sandwich. A lose-lose-lose situation. I won't be going back again. Three strikes and you're out. The owner had better wise up and start paying attention to what's happening when he's not around or he may be looking for another gig soon. read more

This place had amazing service with lemons in the water and free popcorn. Friendly Staff but they messed up my order only giving me 1 patty instead of 2 it took them for ever to get my second patty so I ended up with a cold burger. Kind of ridiculous that you have to pay $2.00 extra for French fries, nobody likes chips. So disappointed! Having been a loyal customer for years, the place was sold and everything has gone way downhill. We ordered the cheddar cheese curds as an app and the "full order" was 19 small curds, it didn't even cover the bottom of the basket. The burgers were not as good, I don't know what they changed. After giving my regards to Babe and Paul, it was time for dinner. A quick walk around the block led me to the Keg-N-Cork. It was still happy hour, but my sights were set on food, so I cracked the menu and got to looking. As I perused the various offerings (burgers, sandwiches, shrimp basket, etc.), I noticed the friendly crowd hanging out and enjoying the scene. College kids sat next to seniors, and everyone was friendly and having a good time. I also noticed that Guinness and Bass were on tap, all the better to wash down the free popcorn and peanuts (ask for the latter). Finally, I noticed that a mushroom swiss burger sounded good, so that's what I ordered. The burger arrived fast, hot and delicious. Billed as 1/3 pound, (I suspect it was a bit larger), the patty was obviously formed by hand, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Also most pleasant was the fact that the mushrooms and swiss did not make the toothsome bun all mushy and sad, as often happens with lesser examples of the breed. I opted for fries (an upcharge applies), and got a plentiful portion of crinkle-kut goodness. I suspect the friendly atmosphere starts with the staff, who greeted all--even this out of towner--with a smile and a friendly word. The very fair prices probably don't hurt either. I've been going to Keg & Cork every time I'm in town and was a regular there before I moved away. I would rate it as the second-best burger in town, behind the Corner Bar, but Keg & Cork is definitely the pick of the two for atmosphere, location, and service. Fish fillets on the fish and chip platter were wet, soggy and tasteless. When we asked the server for crispy fresh fish, she brought us more fish but it was the same style just fried two minutes longer in dark oil. Also, we did not get fresh fries when the new fish came. Went for lunch with the guys, horrible, the waitress couldn't get the orders right, never came back to refill our drinks, took forever for the food and when it got there, my burger was burnt beyond recognition, it was the western but no BBQ sauce on it, the fries were cooked so long they were just an empty shell of potato filled with fishy tasting grease. My buddy got the fish and chips and said it was also burnt, and tasteless. The other guy got the wrong food, he ordered a Louis, got a club, ordered Beer cheese soup, got Ham and bean. We really enjoyed our lunch at the Keg and Cork. My fish and waffle fries consisted of 3-4 pieces of fried cod which tasted good but was a little greasy. The waffle fries were very tasty; at $7 it was a good value. My wife's half pastrami and swiss was deli quality, with standard bagged potato chips and an unusual but tasty chicken/tortilla soup. At $6 it also was a good value. The service was friendly, polite, professional, and prompt. The manager even cam to our booth to chat which was a very nice touch. The pub itself is deserving of even a ranking of "classy." The decor was very Irish pubby, no blaring TVs, acoustics were some of the best in a long time so it was not too noisy. We were pleased! Too early for a beer, but $1.50 Miller lite pints is a great deal! We will go back. read more

We were 3 couples that stopped to get a drink after a show next door. We never did see a wait person. Waited and waited. One server sort of stumbled by..but never stopped. Me and my friend when into this place around 2pm yesterday walked up the bar and tried to order some beers. The person working took our ID and looked at them for at least a minute and asked us a bunch of random invasive questions and then went on to accuse me that my pupils are dilated and that he doesn't know if I had been smoking something funny after that he said he didn't feel comfortable serving us. Me and my friend are both respectable people of legal drinking age we didn't cause and trouble and all we wanted was one beer. The owner if the establishment harassed me and my buddy and wouldn't serve us a drink for no reason whatsoever.
