I was in town for work and decided to order online for takeout. I ordered the cheese enchilada with chips and queso, and the whole process was super easy, with everything ready right on time. Queso came with a healthy bag of chips. Even though I grabbed it to go, the place had a cool vibe and the staff seemed really friendly. A little known fact about me is that I lived in the Land of 10,000 Lakes for some of my adult life. Northern Minnesota to be exact. It didn't take long for me to crave some of the flavors of Tex Mex that was so abundant back in Texas where I lived. My friends suggested I give Zorbaz a chance and it is still a place I like to visit when I go back. What they are known for here is Mexican food and pizza. Weird combo, but it hits the spot. You can get the best of both worlds if you order the Mexican pizza which is basically a taco salad on a pizza. It is one of my go to items here. They do put alot of focus on the Mexican food side of the menu with items you would expect like quesadillas, burritos, tacos, etc. Is it authentic or close to what I get back home? Nah. It's still tasty food and gets the job done. They also have a very impressive tap beer selection with beers from all over. When in MN, I will always go with a Michelob Golden though! They have locations throughout MN but I've only been to the location on Cross Lake. I'll continue coming back if in the area. read more

My family always stops by here when we are in the Brainerd lakes area. The pizza is always good and they seem to have a lot to do. (we usually stop for lunch so we miss all the scheduled activities). One thing that has changed is the service it seems that you need to serve yourself now. read more

Zorbaz is always a classic dive with great food and they earn their 5 stars every time. We stopped here during the cross lake chili fest and it was a fun and energetic atmosphere, for sure. We got the Greek pizza, but took the black olives off- super good! Really nice pesto with it. We also got the full size nachos with chicken, which were both delicious and huge. First, if you arrive by water, just be aware that they have the worst docks in comparison to all the other restaurants on the lake. Although Zorbaz does have docks, the restaurant itself is within a short walk, it does not actually overlook the water so no amazing views here. But don't worry, after you dock, things get better. Just like the other restaurants on the chain, staff here was always friendly but seems to get younger every year (mostly high school/college aged). Zorbaz has a decent array of items on the menu. Of course, they are well-known for their pizzas, but I recommend the tacos and burritos too. Their Mexican Food is a step up from similar items offered at the other restaurants on the water. We have been coming to this zorbaz since I can remember and I never once have had a bad experience. The specialty pizzas are great, you can always fine something to drink, and the staff is super friendly - so kind to their locals and regulars! Shoutout to Cody!! We love the Mexican Pizza, the cosmic swirl, and the Hawaiian, the burritos are quite filling and delicious too - even the spaghetti and cheese bread! Last weekend when we went they "screwed up" our order by giving us a full Mexican when it was supposed to be half and half Hawaiian so they just put a medium in the oven to make up for it. We had so many leftovers and it was very much not needed but we would never complain about customer service like that and a free pizza! With Covid they are doing some of the best at following policies in the lakes area. Wearing masks, wiping stuff down, tons of outdoor seating as they have turned the volleyball courts into a patio area, and very spaced apart inside and outside. We had called ahead to make sure there were open tables available before we arrived. We were told 'come on over, there's plenty of tables! However, once we got there were not any tables available and people were ready to pounce if you so much as twitched indicating you might be leaving. We ordered pizza to go. It was half pepperoni and half sausage. It was awful!! Both my son and I felt nauseous after eating the pizza. I would not recommend or return to Zorbaz. read more

The food was its usual delicious quality. However, while dining at the Crosslake location Sunday the Vikings football game was on. Totally understandable. But the volume was so loud it made conversation with my wife almost impossible. Garlic cheese bread was awesome. Much heavier than normal garlic cheese bread but no complaints in that. Sauce was a little thinner or more watery than I prefer but it came heated and hot which I totally prefer. Overall it's a great garlic cheese bread creation. Absolutely terrible. How does this have 4 stars? The pizza crust looked like it came out of a freezer and was heated up. Like cardboard. Barely any cheese. Everyone in the group (all 8 of us) agreed this is the worst pizza we have ever had. We didn't take the leftovers home even and it was expensive. This is literally a pizza you could buy at the grocery store for $5 but they charge you $16 for a pizza that barely feeds two (with how bad it is it didn't matter that it was so small though). The food is great, but the service is not. You have to go up to the bar to order, and it says that on the menu. So what's the point of tipping if no one is actually serving on you? Our "waitress" also rang up the wrong prices and didn't split our tab. The pizza took awhile to come out, so I'm hoping that's because they prepare it fresh. I went to Zorbaz in Crosslake for lunch. The food was very good. I had the chicken burrito dinner. Sauce was nice and spicy, and the salsa was good too. The only thing that was a little weird was ordering at the bar. I didn't think we were going to have table service, so I didn't leave a tip on my credit card receipt. I had few expectations going into a Zorbaz, and still left feeling extremely cheated. Without a doubt the worst, so called Mexican food, and meal of any type, I've had in quite sometime. First off, the salsa, appears to be canned diced tomatoes with some onion, cilantro, and perhaps some chile powder, and cumin. The flavor and texture of the beef in the taco defies description, as I've never encountered anything quite like it. Absolutely horrible! Unfortunately, it was out done by the dried out. bland chicken, in what is described as a burrito. Things got worse when I delved into the beans and rice. Rice in Mexican cooking, is light, airy, a thing of culinary beauty. What was served to me was a tragedy. How a restaurant with as many locations as they have, gets away serving gruel like that befuddles my imagination. On a positive note, the chips that came with the salsa, were edible. read more

We had a horrible experience. Service was terrible--employees were incredibly rude (except for one guy who may have been the cook? not sure) and late. They forgot about a couple of the dishes we ordered and offered to comp it out for us, which was much appreciated, but their tone was as if they were annoyed at us. The food itself was gross. The beans were obviously canned, the vegetables were raw, the pizza sauce was off, and the tortillas were cold. I think Zorbaz is unique in that its loved by both tourists and locals. This location is open year round and boats great food, atmosphere, and staff. This zorbaz is a little more "family friendly" as the bar area and the dinning area are on opposite ends of the building with plenty of seating in both. There is a game room downstairs and a volleyball court out back. Plenty of parking but tricky to find when you are on the lake and there is a limited amount of dock space.
