Here on vacation and my friend told me we have to go to Zorbaz. It was a little bit out-of-the-way, but well worth it. I had nachos somewhere the other day. and they were just gross. Their bad review is coming. Lol. These nachos were bomb. We got a half an order. The chips were crispy and crunchy. There was beans, meat, jalapeños, sour cream and a side of salsa which I'll get to later. There were two kinds of gooey melted cheese and it was Hella good. So you know how you get to the bottom and you just got a bunch of chips left and nothing good on them. Well that's where the side of salsa comes in. That was a genius idea. You can dip your dry chips in the salsa so you don't waste chips. Good call Zorbas. OK then we got a pizza but we only had one piece and we took the rest home for dinner. The pizza was good. Super crispy crust, which I love, and lots of really good toppings. I was not disappointed with anything here. Next time I am in Minnesota I'll be back. read more

Zorbaz is such a charming place and a must stop if you are nearby. They are all located in smaller towns on lakes around Minnesota. Their menu i consists of Mexican food and pizza. Their schtick is that every "s" on the menu is replaced with a "z", which the kids got a kick out of. They have some creative pizzas, which are quite good. A big beer list with a lot of a variety. Reasonable costs for everything. They have an arcade area and it is quite big inside, with a cabin feel. Also have a small live music stage and a nice patio that we didn't use as it was not the season for that, but I'm sure it is wonderful in the summer! First of all the negative comments in this review have absolutely nothing to do with the staff. Considering how understaffed they were we thought the young ladies did a great job. Anyhow, we came in their just before Labor Day to watch a football game and noticed many of the tables had not been cleaned. Once we chose a table and it was cleaned we went up and ordered our drinks and food. They have a very good beer selection with their menu mainly pizza and Mexican dishes. We highly recommend staying away from the Mexican food. I had the enchiladas while my wife had the taco salad. My enchiladas were a cheesy, gooey mess while the taco salad had a burnt shell and not much going for it. Better stick with the pizza folks. Very disappointing. read more

This is a self serve place...with food delivery to your table. Please set your expectations accordingly. The food runners do a good job of getting tables cleaned, and getting your food to you {it can be super busy at times, pack a little patience}. We enjoy coming here, and the bar staff are helpful and friendly and try their best to get you the food and drink you want quickly. My pizza got lost in the shuffle there for a bit (wife had hers for a solid 10-15 before mine came out with a "Sorry yours got lost"). That being said every visit we've had has been pretty solid. Good food, and we've got our favorites like the Macho Nachoz, the BBQ Chicken Pizza, the Hot Hawg Pizza or the Thai Pie. Beer is always cold, and the food is hot when they run it out to you. He politely asked if it was right and the bartender got an attitude and argued with him and told him he shouldn't order drinks if he doesn't like them. Very poor customer service. Secondly, the primary bartender that was servicing us stopped checking on us. Not even a drink order or a "we'll be out shortly to get your drink order"... nothing. I guess they really don't need the money badly in this Covid environment. Ok, so.... after browsing through the rest of the reviews, it's safe to say that we were NOT aware this place was an "order at the bar" type of joint. No one mentioned it when we walked in; we just asked if we could sit outside and they said "sure". It was our first time at a Zorbaz, so we had no idea of the establishment rules. It would have been nice if they had said upon entering; "is this your first time?". Lesson for management: Don't assume everyone that comes to visit is a regular. Hello 200th review! I have especially saved this review for a special place in my heart, Zorbaz. I love Zorbaz. Not only do they have a fascination with Zs and my last name starts with a Z so we already share the love, but this place is a special place because it reminds me of growing up in Northern Minnesota. It is now a tradition for my family to hit up a Zorbaz at least once a year when we go up north to visit family and friends. When I think of going up to the cabin I always pair it with stopping in at Zorbaz. It also doesn't hurt that we have a Zorbaz down the lake from us... What keeps me coming back to this place is their great food and the atmosphere. The atmosphere is kinda like a college party that has been thrown into lake resort life. It is bright, loud, and full of events. The waitresses flirt, the music is loud, and the patio is huge. Sand volleyball if you are lucky. And you are always near a lake. Zhateau Zorbaz doesn't disappoint on any of those things. The food is amazing. First off, the portions are huge. You will leave this place full. Their menu hovers around Mexican/Pizza options. Their Mexican options are massive, monster size burritos and nacho platters. The Mexican food always looks great but their pizza is what I almost always go to. Some of my favorites are the BBQ Chicken (seriously the best BBQ pizza around), the Reuben, the Cheeseburger, and the Thai Pie. If you can't decide between Mexican or Pizza, you can get the best of both worlds and order the Taco Pizza which comes with chips and salsa on the side for free! One last thing, true Zorbaz fans will make sure to pick up a T-shirt on the way out, especially if you have a first or last name that starts with Z. I also like the free cups you get if you order a soft drink. I have a stack of them at home which spans about 10 years that I use for my home bar. *Also extra kudos for this place. For being in the middle of nowhere, it's a decent place with some decent food. It's right on a lake, which is nice. You sit at a table but have to go up to the bar to place your order, which is interesting. The nachos appetizer was pretty good! Nothing special, but nachos. Pregnant burrito was not too bad either! We ordered nachos at the bar which were just okay. We also ordered a couple of drinks. The service went downhill from there. Paige, our waitress, did not stop back until almost 45 minutes later. She forgot part of my order. Finally another waitress stopped and helped us with a refill on our drinks. It seemed they all purposely avoid eye contact so they don't have to help you. I also believe the manager was present, but did not seem to be doing anything to help improve the service. I would not go back. We have been coming to this location for years, since it was known as Chateau Paulette back in the 1980s. The building features gorgeous knotty pine and beamed ceilings, truly a north woods gem. At first when Zorbaz opened, the kitsch of the menu (everything spelled with zs) didn't quite jive with the gorgeous interior. However, we've come around because we are glad the place is thriving again - whatever it takes. Zorbaz has a nice bar, darts, shuffleboard, a game room and a stage for live music and karaoke. They have a lot going on to keep everyone in the family entertained. It does tend to get loud, so if you have anyone really young or old in your party I would recommend going early. You can grab some free popcorn or buy a sweatshirt in the "gift shop" while wait for your food. I don't particularly like how there is no table service. You have to go to the counter to place your order. Now, on to the food. It's an eclectic menu of Mexican, spaghetti and pizza. The food is just OK. I've never had anything really bad, nor anything really good. My husband likes their spaghetti, but to me it's too spicy. The pizza is pretty good and a safe choice. I give them 3 stars for food. Overall Zorbaz gets a 4, because the experience and north woods charm outweigh the mediocre food. read more

Fun atmosphere, friendly service. My local friend told us that Zorbaz is a chain but it felt like an individually owned local establishment. We were there for trivia night on a very busy Thursday night. It also happened to be storming so there was no outdoor seating. We could tell that the staff worked well together to fill everyone's food & drink orders. Beer selection was amazing. (I recommend the pistachio cream ale). I've seen ads for Zorbaz in northern Minnesota for years...and a few weekends ago while visiting a buddy's cabin "up nordt" I finally made a visit to the land of words with excessive and unnecessary "Z's". We enjoyed a couple of beers on tap, and me and a buddy shared a BBQ chicken pizza. Positives: -TMNT arcade game! Seriously, this was the best part. The 4 of us went through many a quarter to relive our youth and beat this fun side-scroller. -Free popcorn and decent taplist. Negatives: -Insane, over-the-top douche vibe. The repetitive "Z" crap makes me want to vomit, along with the continuous dance music. Then the chicken wings, the greatest moist and tender wings ever, they could teach others how to make wings. Macho Nacho's are a meal itself. Incredible bar. Best popcorn in the mid west. Here is what really blows me away no matter how busy they are you always get a consistently great pizza quickly by the smiling staff. This place is pretty neat-o! It's a big pizza place and bar in basically the middle of nowhere. They were slammed when we visited and it didn't affect the service one bit! The bar was packed but we all still got out drinks quickly and easily. We had a group of about 26 people and everyone seemed pleased with their service and left fat and happy. I will say that those in my group who have visited in the past (family reunion every two years) were disappointed with the arcade. I guess it used to be a lot better? The patio is huge. If it is a warm summer day, sit out there! Soak up the sun and enjoy it. Peanut butter and jalapeño pizza? Eh. I love peanut butter on burgers... but it didn't work for me on pizza. Its thick. The room was dark, there was nothing I could eat on the menu (due to dietary restrictions) and when I asked for some salad mix (lettuce) I was served a plate of shredded iceburg lettuce, and they charged me almost $5 for it. Crazy! This place is totally nuts! It's so vibrant and colorful, from the atmosphere to the food to the drinks. The staff is hot and doesn't stop moving. You order your food at the bar and what appears is the largest amount of pizza or Mexican food you can every image. The music is lively and it turns from families playing video games and speed ball to a dance club with a DJ in a matter of a few hours. We got the Mexican Pizza, and the Chicken and Rice Burrito smothered in Colorado Green Chile. Both were amazing and very, very filling. Leftovers for sure. Absolutely wonderful food! This place is fun to go to though it is in the middle of nowhere. The food is excellent and there is a lot to choose from. All the portions are almost over generous cause it's impossible to finish some of their meals by yourself . The pizza is some of the best traditional non Italian that I have ever had!
