Every time I'm anywhere near Marinette, I make it a point to stop at The Lodge on Main. It's become one of my favorite places. The first thing you'll notice is the building. They did an amazing job preserving its history while adding modern touches that make it feel fresh and inviting. Be sure to look up at the roof when you arrive. The food is fantastic and such a welcome change from the usual bar menu. Everything I've had has been delicious, and the prices are more than fair for the quality and portion sizes. I also love that they're always mixing up the entertainment. Whether it's live bands or different styles of music, there's always something new going on, so no two visits feel exactly the same. The bar is top-notch too. Great selection of top-shelf liquor, beers, and seltzers, and they don't water down the drinks. You definitely get what you pay for. What keeps me coming back, though, is the atmosphere. The staff and the people there are genuinely friendly. I've brought friends from out of town several times, and without fail they always tell me what a great place it is and how much they enjoyed the evening. The Lodge on Main has that rare combination of great food, strong drinks, live music, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. Really good food -- the burgers, salads, and chicken Caesar wrap all delicious. Fries are perfectly cooked. The bar area is hopping. The dining room has a good atmosphere too. The tin ceilings are cool. My only complaints are that it is COLD in this restaurant (they should adjust the AC) and it can get soooo loud. With a boisterous table nearby, we could barely hear each other at our table. Also: the first time we came, our server barely checked on us. We had to go find her. A raw review of fundamentals that should not occur in any similar establishment. 1. There are pub-type tables, didn't sit in those. There are booths which look comfy, didn't sit in those. There's tables with metal chairs and WOW watch out! The standard tables with metal chairs are 'sit at your own risk'. The chairs are unsafe if leaning back, and I'm not heavy. If someone of larger girth sits back in one of these metal chairs, they're going on the floor hard and fast. The seats are extremely uncomfortable at these tables. Ditch these chairs ASAP; your're risking and injury lawsuit 100%. 2. The younger waitress was not trained well. She simply is a 1-task pony. Brings menu, leaves. Comes back to get drink order, leaves. Comes back to ask for appetizers, leaves - all of these should be 1-trip all-in-one multi-task. Many times the younger wait staff simply go to one table, don't read the room or look around for anyone flagging them or needing something; they simply go to one table, and task one item. 3. The food orders are slow slow slow. After waiting for appetizers; they finally arrived and I thought it was the main course after waiting so long. Then a long interval for the main course to arrive. Then another long interval to bring the bill. Simply untrained people or too young, or no experience hires. Priority fixes: Replace the metal chairs at the tables ASAP//NOW/Yesterday. Lawsuit waiting to happen. Train the younger staff to keep their heads up and on a swivel. It's not Tik Tok with your brain occupied. Speed up the food please. Food was good, no issues. read more

The popper bombs are ridiculously good!!!!My partner & I go to tonsss of places to try out jalapeño poppers and this place got one of the best!!!! They came in 6 balls and with some type of berry sauce, very good!! The bar is cozy with tv's, and seperate seating room is peaceful, and the server is champ!!!!! Very accommodating and friendly! Absolutely gonna come back when visiting again! Worth a visit! The menu got a lot of great stuff. The pictures posted doesn't do their place justice! We decided to stop for lunch during our little roadtrip. The menu sounded great and we were starving! We called ahead to make sure they had a dog friendly patio and I instantly felt welcome by the hostess. The patio is very small- overlooking their parking lot, maybe 3-4 tables. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. Both women taking care of us on Sunday 5/24 were excellent and so attentive. My Caesar wrap was delicious, lots of dressing and seasoned chicken made it a perfect lunch. My boyfriend got a burger with bacon and cheese curds. Unfortunately the burger was very dry(they didn't ask how he would like it cooked-not sure if this is common here- and it was VERY well done). He didn't want to complain or have it remade as we had to get back on the road, but I'm sure they would have. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area! read more

There are some really cool things about this bar/restaurant. I loved the look of the place! It is a big older building with large picture windows. It looked really cool from the outside at night! The inside is just as nice. You can tell they put a lot into the atmosphere, right down to a great bar centered in the middle of the action with cool metal (but comfortable) seats. I also got a kick out of the lunchboxes that were used for napkins and condiments. However, It is an old brick building with high ceilings which leads to a really high level of noise. It also might be the reason that it is really cold in the restaurant. Almost everyone was wearing jackets. We even walked to different parts of the restaurant looking for tables that were more comfortable. No luck. Sadly, the food was also only average. I did like the onion rings but they were greasy and when my fish came with the same batter it was just too much oil for one meal. I also ordered a bowl of loaded potato soup (which was really expensive) and only found that to be average also. Overall cool place but it did have some drawbacks. read more

When I tried to find this place to leave a review, I searched for "second home" but alas, I had to use their actual name. There is no place I'd rather go on my own, or with my family, I'd even come to this place with a complete stranger. Service is always prompt, food is always good and I always feel like I'm being welcomed into a family home the moment I walk through the doors. This is a bar and grill, has both a large bar area and a large dining room. It has a nice cozy feel. We stopped in for an early dinner, and seated ourselves at one of the high tops in the bar. Server Shelby was quick to greet us and get us drinks. She came back and got our order - she was wonderful, very pleasant and attentive. I had a brisket burger, a special for the day: 1/3 lb burger topped with tender brisket, onions and bell peppers with provolone cheese, on a pretzel bun. It's a great burger! My wife had a buffalo chicken wrap, very tasty as well. Both came with fries, which were good. The kitchen was very quick, which I appreciated. It was a good experience, we'll be back. read more
