I wish I had looked at reviews here, but I was in a rush. There were so many issues. I wanted nickel but they only had bronze, so now I hate my door, but again I was in a rush so I took it. They said there was no service charge on the phone, but there was on the bill. When I questioned it Leon argued with me very unprofessionally. They charged $225 for a lock I could buy at lowes for $100 less - same brand. All of that I could have accepted because it was a rush job. However, when I called to say they forgot something, they tried to tell me to do it myself ( they want a disabled 60 year old with a fused spine to climb the ladder to the device on the garage ceiling). When they helped me program the garage opener, they forgot to program with wall keypad with the new code; he is saying it's my fault for not telling him knowing that I'd been living in the house for 2 hours, and I'm not the expert. But okay, I miss it. When I called to ask him to help finish the job, he didn't response the text and call within a business day. Then he said he was busy with people in the store. Then he said he didn't have time, and again, I should do it myself or find someone to help finish the job. He wanted me to wait a week to come back and finish the job because "they're too busy". What makes this abhorrent is his tone and demeaner. He grew louder and more abrupt on the phone, and told me he'd call back because .... well, I guess my call wasn't as important and couldn't ask the people in front of them to wait 2 minutes. Very nice during the actual job. He was the complete opposite when I called to finish the job. The more I tried to explain, the ruder he became interrupting me repeatedly, and having no customer service skills to professionally and calmly explain it to me. To cap it off, when I had a question on the bill, I had to send it to them because they didn't have it. When I tried to discuss with him, he was ridiculously rude and interrupting me again, arguing with me, getting louder, and had the audacity to say he did me a favor ($500 bill). Parts of the bill contradicted the verbal - and again he said I was wrong. EXCEEDINGLY RUDE and no customer service skills. Typical perhaps of age and experience, but to be spoken over and rudely argued with is the absolute worst customer experience. All they had to do was be responsive and say - we'll be out there as soon as we are able and help finish the job. Period. It's called respect of your customers and professionalism in running a business. read more

Poor customer service. Invested $250 into a new key fob to include programming. Was told I had to bring it in for programming at the shop but, wasn't told that I had to make an appointment. Wasted a trip to Albuquerque to find them closed and "Leon" had to perform the job. Leon was out. Called back and couldn't make an appointment. Tried talking to him and he cuts me off saying he had someone in the shop. Totally rude and unprofessional. read more

Lied repeatedly, wasted my time, had me wait all Monday afternoon, waited on them till 4:30 Tuesday no show. i called him and he promptly hung up. I called back and he acted like he didn't know who I was. Then he said we tried to call this morning but I had waited by phone all day. I am 76 years old, no car for 5 days and had to remind him over and over, take his insults, wait 2 days and then he said "I'm busy end of second day, I'll call you back when it was 4:30, but he didn't. It's everyone's worst nightmare. Locking your keys in the house. You check all your pockets, you check you purse, and then you check them all again. Nada. You think of where your spare key is, you can see it, visualize exactly where it is....there in it's spot in the house. Because you never gave it to that person who was going to hold onto your spare for you in dire times like this one. Blast! All after a short trip to the grocer because you needed ground beef to make stroganoff hamburger helper. So, if you must know, I found myself locked out of my apartment. We won't get into the details, but it happened. We also struggled for about a half an hour trying to find another way in. That didn't happen. So i searched for a 24 hour locksmith service on the handy dandy interweb function of the mobile device and came upon the The Lock Shop. Truth be told they were the second place I called but the first to answer! Thank you Lock Shop! The guy I spoke with said he would be there in 10 to 15 minutes and he was! He also got us back into my apartment in about, let's say, 2 minutes! Thank you Derrick for your great customer service. You were right on time and super quick. I I was a repeat customer for the last year. Guys needed to make a spare key.... it's been done several times. Couldn't get it done then blamed the car not working after it would not start. Had to leave Sequoia OVER NIGHT UNSECURED ON MANUAL! The next day I passed by 3 times and no one was working on it so I called and they said they were. They wanted me to let the mechanic next door fix it for $350... Sounded like EXTORTION TO ME! I paid $175 to basically screw up the vehicle! So I had Towed to my mechanic; now $250 and two hrs later my general mechanic fixed it and all he had to dip was programthe keys correctly. LEON the owner response was well if you gave me a chance I would have had it fixed.... Afterwards Leon was very difficult to talk to and refused to reimburse and argued with me the entire way. Buckle down yelpers, this is going to be a gooood one! Background story: My husband and I have two cars, which we rely on to between school, work. We went on a trip and my husband lost his only cars key somewhere in UT, NM or CA! I had a nightmare week dropping him off and picking him up work from 3-11pm With my toddler in tow! Ugh! We should have called the lock shop sooner! At this point there was no hope of finding our old key! Competition? Nope! We called our dealership first and with no interest, they said our cost would be $175 for our model of car and we would have to bring our car to them (like yeah, let me just hop into my locked keyless car and I'll be right over) and getting a tow truck seemed like a hassle Looking for other local options in hopes of a better deal and customer service. I called and they gave me a better deal and options of $100 to $150 (for my model of car)! We called the next day and asked if we needed to make an apt and if we needed to get our car to them. They immediately sent Derek to come to us within 25 mins and he went above and beyond in friendliness, expertise and good pricing! This place is great. Leon was friendly, honest and got the job done. I had been going to a locksmith closer to my house for years. I brought them a new key fob to be cut and programmed. They told me it may damage their machine and offered to sell me one of their keys for much much more. I told them I will look around. Brought it to the Lock Shop. Leon had it cut and programmed for $20 less than the original quote I received from the other shop. He's a little farther away but he has won all my bussiness in the future! read more

The lock shop came out and rekeyed our entire house upon moving in. When we moved in, we had one too many keys to deal with and the person that came out made one key, allowing us to get rid of the others. It was an easy process and everything that was done was explained thoroughly, especially when he explained how good the lock brands we have in our house are. I had my car keys stolen and they we're able to accommodate me with my time and were very helpful throughout the whole process. They were very affordable compared to the price that the dealership gave me. Instead of needing to have my car towed to the dealership, these guys came to wherever I needed them. Derrick was the one that came and programmed a new key for me and it literally only took him about 5 minutes and explained everything he did. Very nice people and great service. We brought a vehicle here to simply get a spare key for a vehicle, what a mess! They called us and told us the car won't start now and tried to blame us for their mistake! Asking questions like "did you have issues with the car starting before" Ummmm no! We paid them $175 to basically screw up the vehicle! We then had to have the car towed to another shop and pay for a new key and to be programmed they had no problem fixing their mistake. Bad/ awful/ customer service!! I am writing this review as I cry with frustration at the way my family was treated. My sister thought she had gotten her key stolen along with her purse. She called aaa and they set up for someone to contact her. The Lock Shop called her and ask for vin # so they could look up key at shop. All this sounded official to us and she gave them the number. They came out to our home. I need to state we made sure that we stated this was not an emergency!!! When they got to our home we found the key. It was in the car and not stolen after all. That was a relief but than immediately she had to deal with the man telling her that her charge was $100 for a key that all they had to do was look up a vin and cut. No chip or anything. Ok $100 for a key and service call I understand. But Aaa had told me I was a premium member and they covered $150 of the charges. I explained that to the man and he told me yes the actual cost for the process is $300. Aaa paid $150 and he was giving me a discount at $100. He was rude and smug and that didn't help the situation either. So we paid. Today I called the lock shop and ask a quote for the same circumstance as yesterday I was quoted $40-$100. I hung up and debated on what to do. I read so many good reviews I called the number and ask to speak to management I spoke to Leon again. I told him the situation and that I wanted to give them a chance to explain before I blasted a negative review. He aggressively only cared what we were charged and what aaa told us. I ended up very upset because the point was why do they have different prices for same service. I asked him so you made $150 off aaa and $100 off my sister when I could of just called you and it would be $40. I feel this is discrimination and mistreatment of the elderly and fraud!!! I am contacting aaa also because they need to know by me using them it tripled my price. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE! I guess unless your sure you are going to get the $40 bill not the $300!!
