I have to say I had a great experience with Roberts Lock and Key even though something pretty embarrassing happened. I was informed that someone had lost the keys to an apt unit that we needed to show to a prospective renter. So, I called two other people before I called this company and basically got no response or excuses. When I called Robert, he answered right away, was ready to help me and was very professional. He basically jumped in his car right away and headed straight to the location. He was met by someone else since I was at work. However, when they got there the keys were found at the last minute. So he came out for no reason because of someone's negligence. Prior to that the price that I was quoted to change 4 locks was very reasonable to me. Even though no locks were changed, I was very appreciative of the effort put forth and would absolutely consider this company for the next time we have a lock or key emergency. This Locksmith is the real deal, not a conglomerate trying to get your address. This is a local company, one you can trust. I called 8 Locksmiths before I chose Robert's lock and key. I'm so glad I did because they did an excellent job. The others are scam jobs who ask for your address and say somebody will call you back! This guy doesn't try to gouge you for simple services like locking yourself out of your car. Try it - call other locksmiths in Albuquerque and you'll end up paying at least 100 dollars. Inflating a bag and opening a handle with a hook takes 2 minutes. This guy was fast and he even waited through 30 minutes worth of traffic to help me out this morning. Use this business if you want good service, quality, and VALUE for your locksmithing needs! Thank you, Robert! read more

Uncle Tye was AMAZING. He came out 3 times to diagnose why my replacement key fob and the new chipped key he provided wouldn't program, replaced the nearly impossibly placed fused that was causing the problem, and gave me the new chipped key, my replacement, and a dummy key he cut that he thought would work during an earlier attempt. While shopping around, a locksmith named Scott was one of the people I called but wasn't available at the time. Scott called me the next day to solicit my business. I told Scott that I had already selected a locksmith. He asked me who I decided to go with. I refused, but told him the locksmith I selected was much cheaper and was able to come the same day. He continued to push and ask (saying I might as well tell him so he knows who his competition is) and I continued to refuse. He then went on to say that he had an idea of the locksmith I chose (I don't remember the locksmiths name he stated). Eventually he said that he had an idea which locksmith I went with and that I should be careful because "he's struggling and needs the money anyway". I then went on to say that the phone call was over and I hung up. So I decided to pay my locksmith Scott fee plus a little bit more. read more

I first tried a couple other "yelp suggested" locksmiths, they told me that they couldn't help. In desperation, I went to the dealership and had a key cut from my VIN, and bought a new fob. I haven't programmed a fob in a while... since you pushed a button on the PCM, and then held a combo of buttons down on the fob. It's a LOT more complex, today. I contacted B&B to see about getting it scheduled, expecting next week, at the earliest. Instead, they came out yesterday afternoon, less than 5 hours after I initially asked about availability. They were able to program my OE fob, sold me (and programmed) another fob, and sold me and cut (on sight) a second rescue key. The total for my same day service? After tax, tip, fob, key cutting, and programming 2 fobs, my total was 50 less than the dealership charged for just the fob and key. Jamie and Jr. were extremely helpful throughout, providing updates and all the information I inquired about. Both fobs and keys work, I can get to my riding gear and equipment, have my backup vehicle back, and it was incredibly affordable. Thanks y'all! I took up cycling...I was referred to Roberts Lock and Key by Heights Security who provide excellent service but do not do mobile calls.
