He confirmed all features worked on the key, including the physical key, which I have never actually used. I researched other locksmiths in the area and they had mixed reviews but this locksmith had an excellent rating so I went with him. He took his time and helped me take care of all the differently keyed locks, and now I only have 1 key for the whole house (I previously had 6 different keys)!
