The place is so so pretty! Which is why we're inclined to stop- also I was badly needing a coffee. If this was rated on aesthetic alone it would be 5/5. Super cute, reminded me of my home city Austin. However, although we were seated so quickly, it took the waitress a good 25 minutes to get us-1 coffee, 1 orange juice, a muffin and a yogurt parfait that were already ready at the counter. They had tables to eat there but they also had a counter if you were just grabbing and going. The coffee was huge- I wish I had a picture of it, I think it was a 32 ounce so it tasted like nothing but milk essentially. I would unfortunately not stop here agin unless I needed to grab something really quick.

Love this place ! I have been going to the local fix since it started out in the smaller building! Went to the new big building for the first time yesterday and it is beautiful !!! Very in love with all of the decor and the way it is designed ! The food was SPECTACULAR !we had the banana pecan waffle, huevos rancheros, chicken and waffles and of course some coffee to go with it! Everything was a huge HIT ! The service was great and very helpful and friendly from all ! You will NOT regret going to this establishment ! I promise

Caesar Chicken Salad, not chopped up

We just left. We arrived at 2:15pm. There was only two other sitting customers when we arrived. The place was mostly empty. We ordered and it took 50 minutes to get our food. One family came after us. It was an empty place. We ordered biscuits and salad. The biscuits came after 50 minutes and the salads at 55 minutes. When we left the small family was the only ones still there. No other customers, no to-go pick up orders, nothing. When m Caesar Chicken Salad came, it was not cut. They literally put half of a chicken on my plate. The menu picture has the chicken chopped up. It did not come out that way. Also, there were about 20 flies all over the inside of the restaurant. We had to fight flies while eating.

Restaurant is decorated well and looks brand new- music low in the background allows patrons to carry on conversations. It was a bit windy and too warm to enjoy the nice patio with tables and large umbrellas shading the space- maybe next time. Staff might need a bit more training on the menu options- drink list as well as food options. With that said, staff was helpful in finding answers to our questions. A bread basket with infused butter was an unexpected treat- butter was a bit chilly and slow to melt in order to infuse into the delicious bread. We ordered shareables (didn't share!) potato skins and calamari- breaded with cornmeal, both delicious options (lots of marinara). Additionally ordered sides of honey roasted potatoes that were actually cubed hash browns with onion and peppers - a bit of a disappointment, yet tasty when some of the infused butter from the bread basket was added and mixed in- and the honey rainbow carrots, which were perfectly cooked and a delicious combination of sweet with the savoriness of the carrots. Finally a dessert of banana pudding finished off the meal- almost as good as Mom's. Overall a good experience for tired travelers.

We sat right by a window but it was right by the door. The menu storage bin was right behind my son's back. I switch seats with him because it was uncomfortable for him and yez it was uncomfortable having them come a grab a menu from Right behind me. It was a cute place but kind of tight. Only one waiter at about 4pm. but the service was good. Food was good. Don't sit by the door.

    The Tailspin ($9.50)

I wanted to try a local spot in Uvalde and The Local Fix was at the top of that list. I didn't get to experience the ambiance or the service because I only Doordashed the food to my AirBnB. I was impressed by how quickly they completed the order to be picked up. I ordered: - The Tailspin ($9.50) - Breakfast Taco with Chorizo ($3) The Tailspin was so good. It is a Breakfast Wrap with Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon, Chorizo, and Shredded Cheese. The tortilla tasted fresh and the combination of the bacon and chorizo was so satisfying. The best part is also the runny yolk from the egg as you take each bite. It becomes even more filling with the potatoes. For under $10, this was a great pick. The Breakfast Taco with Chorizo was an okay choice. The combination of the egg and Chorizo is always a classic, but for some reason the tortilla for this was a bit hard and tougher to each compared to the Tailspin. The Chorizo scramble was tasty though especially when adding the salsa that came with the Tailspin. Out of the options in Uvalde, The Local Fix is definitely worth trying out for a nice breakfast to start out the day.

Nice broad menu, but literally waited over an hour for food. Good food but still. Would try something different

The atmosphere was beautiful! The coffee tasted great! However, when we received our food, my gravy and biscuits were cold and my daughter's chicken fettuccini was drowning in butter. It honestly looked like it was leftovers warmed up in the microwave. It didn't look fresh at all unfortunately. When I told the server about it she said she couldn't give a refund because there was no manager available. Willing to try a different plate next time.

Walked in and enjoyed a seat by the window. Not much vegetarian options for my friend, but his son got a double burger and I got the chicken fried steak. My friend didn't think I could eat it all and after the first bite, it was challenge accepted. Got to talking to the waiter and he mentioned they buy their meat locally and you could tell it was a good piece battered and fried. I got 2 sunny side eggs with it to soak up the plate and I do have to say this was the best CFS that I have had in a long time. I also got a Menudo to go as I was eating, but they forgot to put the order in and in the rush, the top lid cracked and it leaked out on way home. This was a bummer, since I was hoping to have it the next day before work. Besides this mess, I really recommend this place.

Which is cool, in theory. Came in with five savages and your humble narrator.. The place looked open-ish... but the door said otherwise. We're talking "pull so hard it feels disrespectful" energy. I'm staring at a couple inside mid-lunch like I'm breaking and entering while they're enjoying their broccoli cheddar. Finally -- salvation: the lone server opens the door for us with the body language of someone being forced to babysit their ex's dog. Look, I'm never one to throw stones at a server. We've all had days. But let's be fair -- how do you know your day's worse than mine? (For the record, my day was fantastic.) Then the spill happens. Guy at our table fumbles his drink. Splashdown. She sees it. Locks eyes. Walks to the bar, grabs a Costco-sized roll of paper towels, plops it down with all the grace of a DMV appointment... and walks off. No refill. No napkins. No acknowledgment. Just vibes. The Food? * Chicken Fried Chicken: good crust, decent flavor, and thank God it was hot * Broccoli + Mashed Potatoes: cold enough to qualify as a side salad Look, The Hanger 6 has potential -- cool setting, decent plate, and you could probably watch a plane land if you're lucky. But with a heavy door, a heavier mood, and cold sides? This place left me feeling like I crashed my own lunch. Would I come back? Maybe. But next time, I'm bringing my own napkins... and possibly a runway light 2 stars--rounded up to 3 because I saw a helicopter land.

Confirmed with some dude that works there: their hours are Mon-Sat 6am-3pm. I stayed in Uvalde for business for 2 weeks. We made it a point to stop in for lunch at Los Alamos whenever possible because the food is just hat good. The enchilada plate is prolly the best enchiladas I've had outside of San Antonio. They're legit. I also tried their burger---it's a burger--nothing to write home about but good nevertheless. The waitstaff if mostly friendly but if you come in at like 2:45 when they're about to close, they'll be slightly less accommodating (understandably). For example, our waitress was trying to get us out the other day and didn't serve us our customary chips and salsa. Nothing major...just the little things. Anyway, there's a couple of other TexMex restaurants in the town that are decent, but I'm over the opinion that Los Alamos is the best of the group along the highway 90 corridor that cuts through the city. Oh, and it's cheap--though not cheap tasting--as it should be.
