Yummy fries lived up to their billing. The server indicated the meat portion in three sliders is the same as in one regular sized burger. I'm glad I opted for the three minis, there's something fun about them. They did serve the grilled onions on the side which I found a bit odd. The bottles of "fry sauce" next to the ketchup and mustard offers a nice variety. Their pineapple cider was very refreshing, yum. The owner stopped by our table which is always a nice touch. Get drinsk at Hoppys and Food at Local Cow and sit in either or in between. I got the Fort Stevens burger and let me tell you. AMAZING. The Blue cheese crumbles are just melting into a delicious gooyness that mixes with the soft mushrooms and added caramelized onions, then complimented by such juicy meat. *drool* I also experienced the fried pickles, which I can honestly say were the best ones Ive had to date. They were full spears that were fully deep fried! None of those tiny little pickle chips you normally see. and they were crunchy and also a little soft. Different than what ive had before. Burgers are always greasy and too pink in the middle. I like steak a bit pink but burgers I like cook all the way through. They don't ask how you would like it either. In the to go container they put burger on what starts out being crispy kettle chips but by the time you get home you have soggy greasy chips. Well I had the Fort Stevens with chips and an Iced Tea with lemon. Service was good. The iced tea was average, lemon was a ring instead of a wedge. For me it's not decoration and squeezing a lemon ring is a real pain in the ass. Now the burger, it was a bleu cheese bacon mushroom burger, and it was really good, the bacon was thick cut, the mushrooms were well done and the bleu cheese was of a high quality and they didn't skimp. The beef was tasty and their brioche bun while tasty is up to the job of holding the mess together without being tough or chewy. The potato chips are ok, salting them fresh out of the dryer would help immensely. All in all nothing here that will leave you jaw dropping amazed but it won't leave you disappointed and is good value for the price. Wish I'd know about the fry upgrade when you show your yelp check in but I'll save it for my next visit because I will be back. read more

I found It comforting while at the same time knowing I would leave reeking of hot beef fat and onions. If you want to keep Keto I recommend the salad with a burger patty option. Tasty and satisfying. Very casual atmosphere with tables indoors and out, both on the walk in front and a covered area. I felt thrown back to the early seventies eating at some roadside Hippie cafe of the best type. They have a good location in downtown Gresham with lots of foot traffic, but no signage. I had to look for this place to find it. Inside was a simple sort of rustic atmosphere which made me feel welcome. However, we weren't greeted right away and with no sign telling us what to do, we weren't sure if we could find a seat ourselves or if we needed to wait. We were brought small cups of water and had a nice waitress. Their menu isn't huge, but is big enough to give you some options. Just don't expect much else other than a burger. I love the fact that they use fresh local ingredients and beef from local cows (hence the name). But after getting my burger and fries, I was disappointed. The patty was smaller than expected and for a place banking on the quality of their beef, the meat itself was overshadowed by toppings. Their flavor combinations sounded great on the menu but it was a bit of a letdown when I actually ate it. I ordered cajun fries to go along with my burger, and those were okay. Not great, but not bad. I also found it weird that I had to substitute chips for fries. Why wouldn't a burger restaurant automatically serve fries with a burger? I would've been fine with the mediocre meal if the price matched what we got. For my wife and I to eat a burger each and split a lemonade, it was $20.50 before tip. I understand that fresh local ingredients can cost more (see Burgerville), and I'd be willing to pay for that if I got my money's worth. But at the end of the day, the product did not justify the price. Especially when my food comes in a plastic basket with paper lining. If you're looking to go somewhere a little different in a town that doesn't offer many options, I'd say it's worth a try. But if what you want is an amazing burger at a reasonable price, look elsewhere. Next time when I want more flavor and more bang for my buck I'll go to Five Guys. read more

Grst great great burgers!! Haven't had a burger this good since I ate at Slaters 50/50 in California. Beef is delicious, nice thick fresh slices of yummy bacon, great sauces and tasty crispy Cajun fries. The only eh for me was the bun. It may have been exposed to too much air. It basically crumbled making the burger a little hard to eat. No big. Still thoroughly enjoyed my food, beer and sons lemonade. Service was actually quite slow but my rating is totally for the food. Otherwise they'd get docked for service speed and friendliness. Or lack thereof. Also too I saw that they had messed up two orders from the table next to us which wasn't comforting at all. read more

Now that you are convinced of my burger credentials, let me declare the "Deutsch Burger" at The Local Cow is one of the best I have ever had! It was the special when I visited and for $9 I got this delicious burger and a side of fries. The burger had pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and whole grain mustard. An interesting combination of flavors on a burger for sure, but together they will take your taste buds to Xanadu. Within a month of moving near local cow I've probably eaten from there 5-6 times. Their burgers are awesome. I crave their burgers now! Salads are great. The fries are ok. You can tell they are fresh cut, which I love, but every time I've ordered fries they are cold and soft. At first I thought that was Postmates fault, but the last two times I've ordered directly from the restaurant and it's been the same. They aren't awful. After six years of Local Cow being a go-to for outsourced dinner options I just realized I've never reviewed. A reminder of taking things I value for granted. Service has always been friendly with (now) familiar faces. Over time our family has tried many of the various burgers, sliders, hotdogs and salads with burgers served with regular, gluten free and bun-less options. We've never been disappointed. And the fries! They're close to frites which, having grown up in Belgium, makes me even more thankful to have Local Cow so close to home. Food is ok. Very salty, and the bleu cheese on my Fort Stevens burger was in a lump. The truffle sauce was to die for what I could taste on the side not covered in Bleu cheese. Upgrade to the fries. The chips are good but the fries may help the salt issue and cleanse palette. I also suggest if you got in the winter bring a coat. There was no heater on.
