    Seafood pie

This has been a family owned business on Main Street in Waterville on the ring of Kerry for the past 60 years You really can't miss the big lobster holding the Guinness in its claw Given its location it is indeed a draw for tourist buses piling in in boluses so don't be surprised if it gets crowded all of a sudden and then empties out again You can enter and walk into the speech g area where they have a cafeteria style serving system (tray, eating options) and you pay at the end of the line The drink orders come out on the bar side in a minute or two so you can find a table set your tray and then come get your drinks We tried the seafood pie which was quite heavy with cream and cheese and the Desi curry chicken with the white rice which was a welcome and interesting addition to the menu. Also tried the seafood chowder which was again very heavy with cream and can really stand alone as a meal too.

Great well maintained seaside pub ambience, good service and great food. I enjoyed my Beef and Guinness Stew and heard that the Seafood Chowder and Salmon plates were fantastic.

I visited with my partner on a Wednesday at 4pm and we lucked out because the kitchen was just reopening. We weren't super hungry and instead wanted a snack to share. We settled for the fish and chips. I have to say, it's probably one of the best I've ever had (the other being in England). The fish was flaky, meaty, and not super oily. The chips/fries had the right level of crunch. As for the tartar sauce, well, I LOVED it. I could tell it was home made, which our server confirmed. Paired with a few rays of sunshine and a Guinness, this was a fantastic stop as we overlooked the harbor. (Tip: avoid coming during lunch rush as there are tour groups that make a stop here. The place was nearly empty at 4pm.)

You must try their seafood pie with salad and don't forget the hard apple cider. Seafood pie has Sooooo much fresh seafood in them and the home made salad dressing is not overpowering and very delicious

We were on the Ring of Kerry Tour with Paddywagon and stopped in Waterville for lunch. This place had been recommended for lunch so we stopped in. It was semi cafe style as you went through line and grabbed a tray. If you didn't fancy the items already prepared then you could order from a menu. Already prepared items included soup of the day, seafood chowder, beef and stout stew, seafood Pie, and cottage pie. I ordered the cottage pie and a Guinness. It was delicious. Since we chose already prepared items we had plenty of time to explore the walk along the ocean before getting back on the bus. The water was beautiful.

Was on the Ring of Kerry Tour with Paddywagon Tours, and the suggestion of lunch here was made, and we all agreed to give it a whirl. Walked in and bellied up to the bar, my favorite thing to do. Got served very quickly, as they try to accommodate the bus time. I ordered the soup of the day; roasted cauliflower soup and cottage pie. We also ordered the ham and cabbage meal. The soup came out first....wow! It was a beautiful tan color served with fresh brown bread. The taste was so good, I found myself lifting the bowl to get every last drop. Then lunch was served....and my eyes were on overload. Our dishes were abundant in looks, smells, and flavors....delish! The ham and cabbage was drenched with a creamy sauce that sparked your taste buds up and the cottage pie was "stick to your bones" good topped with creamy mashed potatoes. There was nothing left on our plates, and sure wished I had ordered a takeaway too.... I have told everyone I know about the Lobster, and if I am ever in Ireland again....I WILL be eating here!

We decided to go out for a nice lunch and was turned away from Dooley's across the street. We decided to go the the lobster and the food and service was outstanding!! 3 kids loved it too!

This is the perfect place to stop for lunch if your traveling the Ring of Kerry. The service was fast and friendly and the food was even better. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and devoured it all. I had the vegetarian burger... I could write songs about that burger. Veggie burgers can be a huge hit or a huge miss and this my friends is a hit. The view from right across the street can't be beat either. I would highly recommend!

The inside was large, easily accommodating us with plenty of tables. The waitresses came to our table and took our orders quickly. As a tour group, we were given only two options for lunch and a single dessert, which was fine with me. I ordered their Beef & Guinness Stew for lunch and was very happy with it! I had ordered the same thing from a pub in Dublin a few nights before and was disappointed, Dooley's was the opposite experience, this was excellent! The beef was tender, vegetables generously sized and soft, the sauce was hot and flavorful, and I really liked the flaky pastry on top used to mop up any leftover sauce. For dessert, they served Bread Pudding, which was good, but not the best I had during my time in Ireland, but good. All-in-all, a good and speedy experience at Dooley's Seafood and Steakhouse. If I were in Ireland again and passing by here, I'd have no issue coming back and grabbing a Beef & Guinness Stew from here.

When I asked for a menu, the waitress said they didn't have one.......okay. She did list what was available to choose as we were part of a bus tour group and only had selected options we could choose unless we wanted to pay additional monies, maybe that's why there was no menu. I went with a seafood chowder with some flaky pastry bread on top. The food was okay but literally being next to a river with many boats out on the water I was expecting exceptional seafood or something that tasted very fresh. I wouldn't come back but I am sure if you are in the area, you could have a good time here with the right crowd, the location was pretty fab and the interior of the restaurant was nice as well. As always people SYOY!!!

The chicken sandwich on white bread however was US grade-school cafeteria level in effort. And came with potato chips. Think wonder bread, boiled chicken breast and BUTTER! My wife's tuna salad was as tasteless. Not good value, lacking taste and topped with total lack of service. This is a place I will not remember from my trip. We decided to try An Corcan on the first visit, as we returned to Sneem from a trip to Skelligs Chocolate, and came upon its cheery, colorful facade in Waterville right around lunch time. We were so impressed with this little place that we actually made a point of returning on our second visit to Ireland. An Corcan's interior is just as cheery and welcoming as its exterior. It almost seems like a little tea house, with lace tablecloths and bud vases on each table. The service is so affable and hospitable; I get the feeling not too many tourists dine at An Corcan, and we were welcomed in the typical Irish manner, with broad smiles, good-natured banter, and plenty of questions about where we were from. The food at An Corcan is surprisingly good, given its off-the-beaten-path location in an off-the-beaten-path town. It has an interesting mix of Irish pub fare (cream of vegetable soup which is lovely, roasts and fish and chips which hit the spot, and the famous Irish "toasted special," in this case a combo of ham, cheese, tomato and onion), and American bar food (chicken wings which we didn't bother to sample, chicken curry salad which was actually a big hit with our group, and burgers). There's something for everyone at An Corcan. If we find ourselves in Waterville again, we will definitely return -- for the homey, welcoming atmosphere with cheery service; for the simple, delicious food; and for the reasonable prices.

Cronins sits on a Main Street through Killarney and feels like old world Ireland from the road to the table. It has a storied past in Killarney, being open over 60 years at this point. The space is as you would expect, cozy, local and welcoming. The menu is rooted in local ingredients including seafood, beef and veggies. We popped in for an early dinner and had an appetizer of the Smoked Irish Salmon, which was fresher than expected. Such a simple dish, but it was executed perfectly. For our mains, we had a burger and the Shepard's Pie. Burger was good. It was juicy, well cooked and the onion relish thing they had going on was *chefs kiss*. The Shepard's Pie was spot on. Both were made with local beef, which was cool and extra tasty! Beyond the food, Cronins also has their own cider, which was phenomenal and oddly enough, the only cider I had the whole time I was in Ireland! That speaks more to the hold Guinness had on me and less to the variety of cider. After the cider, we went with a few house cocktails including the Clover Club and Dingle Donkey. Both were well prepared, vibrant and tasty! Service was uniquely local, friendly and fun! From the bartender to our server, they were both excellent! Overall, Cronins is a stellar spot in a great spot in Killarney! When we get back over the pond and to Killarney, Cronins is on the list to swing by again!
