Ok so I had been living in Paris for two years when I found this place and was obsessed with the guac chip meal. I don't know if it was actually good or if I just missed mexican food so much that anything would have tasted amazing. But I do know that it was cheap and the huge pitcher of margaritas was nice combo with the chips. My chips and guacamole was $7 and the pitcher was $12 - it was happy hour.

What a great bar/restaurant! The staff were outstanding at telling us about this place and getting us a table. It's quite cozy here with a few tables at the top and bottom. As you enter the basement for the second bar, you feel like you're entering a cave. Everyone was parting nicely and we ordered a beef and chicken burger. They were made perfectly, with the beef being my favorite. The flavor was out of this world for both of them. The chef really knows what he's doing! The bartender gave us a complimentary shot of caramel vodka which went down real smooth. I can't wait to go back to this place!

Really laid back bar with a friendly mix of frenchies and expats. Just a good, dependable place where you'll always feel welcome. I recommend the nachos (loaded with fresh salsa, guac, and sour cream) and espresso martinis. I should specify that I don't order these both in one sitting. I have a feeling espresso martinis aren't the best cocktail pairing for nachos, but hey you never know.

Current menu. Sandwich does not come with potatoes so you can order it for 3€ more.

I love a bar with many faces. One where you can sit, relax and have a meal while at the same time being able to throw a few back, without judgement or remorse. Lizard Lounge is exactly that. When you first walk in to the place, you are met with all the smells and sounds of a burger bar. There's a roaring grill in the back and dished are consistently pumped out to patrons. The bartenders and bar backs are always very friendly to newcomers and regulars, alike. The burgers in Europe have a little way to go to reach american standards. Most are pretty boring or poorly cooked. However, in Lizard Lounge, you are able to grab all sorts of great burgers with tons of toppings. They come with a side of roasted potatoes which are delicious as well. I also was able to grab a chicken and avocado sandwich. What came out was not remotely what I expected but it was much more delicious than I dreamed of. Open faced flat bread with chicken breast sliced on top, covered in cheese and honey mustard complete with mustard seeds. Delicious! They have a beer of the week as well as happy hour cocktails (happy hour changes depending on the day with specials that change daily). I had mentioned before that this bar has many faces. After 8pm, the basement bar opens up and that is where you want to be if you'd like to sling a few down your trap and enjoy yourself. Just make sure to watch your head, as there are a few low hanging arches to wander through. There are another set of specials down there which include a few of the same cocktails as upstairs. The bartenders are always fun to chat with while down there before it gets very busy. The one problem that we always seem to have is that their card reader never works downstairs so have a few extra euro in your pocket just in case!

We had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way. This is a tale of two bars (if you can name the book without looking it up, then we can be friends). Like Parisian dive bars? Fan of the novo-Brooklyn themed Paris? Lizard lounge is place worth checking out even if you like neither. I honestly had no clue this place would be so unique among the bars in the area; walking in I expected a cool spot (based on rating), but what we ended up finding was so much more. Bar one; the basement dive. Our first visit to the lizard had us skip the chic upper bar, and head to my traditional digs; the dive downstairs. I was not disappointed. as soon as you head through the door of no return, you descend into an ancient, poorly lit, low headroom basement. the music was good, the bar was small and the staff was chill. we pulled up a few stools at the little bar and ordered up, I shit you not, a beer and shot combo (I've never seen this done in Paris before). At 8 euro, I found this to be a particularly good deal, even if the tequila felt like it was lighting me on fire from the inside out. we laughed the night away down there, drinking more and more with our hosts who were cool as could be. For the guys reading this (or the ladies, no judgment here), check out the urinal in the back room; its through very small cowboy doors, basically in the main space...hope you're not pee shy...after a few beer/shot combos your fear will quickly disappear, trust me*. Bar two; the Brooklyn cocktail burger bar. This is where you bring your friends who don't like getting disturbingly drunk while on vacation (though I'm not sure why you hang out with people like that**). The upstairs bar is open every night, as opposed to its subterranean wild cousin. I have to admit when I found out that the downstairs was closed the second night we swung by, I was a bit bummed out. Turns out the upstairs is awesome in it's own right. first of all, they have a cocktail of the week that is reasonably prices. this week it was a gin martini that was so strong I was one and done. As you may know, Paris is turning into a burger city, which is strange to me (I don't think burger when I think city of lights, but hey that's just me). That said, if you know me, you know I cant turn one down, and so I did what I do best; got fatter. The burger was....SO good. imagine how much a hunk of real aged blue cheese would run you on a burger in Manhattan. not the case here. when they say "blu cheese Cajun" they mean it. hard. The last thing I'll mention about the upstairs is the magician who actually cooks these burgers up. his kitchen is the size of your closet (parents closet if you live in the city, we are cursed with shoe-box size places to hang our shirts). The quality of food that came out of that little space was remarkable, but in my experience that's usually the case - I've had some of my best meal in the most unexpected, unpretentious of places. If you're in Paris come here, I don't care what kind of person you are you will more than likely have a great time here. ______________________________________ *seriously though, I have pee shy, bad, and had no issues as the night went full steam ahead. **I DON'T have a drinking problem OK?!

This was a great place to have dinner and some wine while you are surrounded by the beautiful sounds of French locals chatting around you. If you don't like to smoke, I recommend sitting inside as all the Parisians will be smoking outside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a chalkboard menu also available in English if you can't read French. I felt welcomed and comfortable eating there by myself, and enjoyed my wine and roast chicken. The place is also very fair priced considering the location.

Very cool bar, chilled in the afternoon and packed in the evening. Like a few other bars around Paris it really has that catacombs feel!

So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!

The bar appears to be full of whatever you would like but a signature cocktail menu that reads like a beautiful coffee table book is given to everyone. The drinks with names like Corn, Apple, etc are given to elaborate cocktails that are crafted with multiple layers of ingredients. Seems weird but everyone loved theirs and we all shared sips. I highly recommend that here if you are familiar with your companions. Call your banker first as $30 per drink is average! But the girl I raised bought it so whatever? Wish I photographed that menu!! Service is bright with ample and thoughtful olive and nuts assortments and water backs for all without asking. For a splurge I could not urge enough of you to try!! Seeing this hotel property alone is worth it right down to the gilded bathrooms excellently attended. We did not try the food as they were just about to convert to first dinner service and we had Xmas Eve dinner for the family booked at a different Michelin star restaurant later. I'll bet the food is the shizzle though!!!
