I brought my niece and nephew, and we easily had one of the funnest afternoons! The Barnyard Adventure is a paid area ($28.95 per person on weekends), but with eight acres packed full of things to do, it's worth every penny. To put the size in perspective ... it's like exploring six football fields lined up together! The highlights for the kids included getting up close with a variety of farm animals, a trike track, sports zone, and multiple playgrounds, pig races, a musical hayride ... there truly is something for all ages. The atmosphere is lively, especially with those pig races and musical hayride tours. My niece and nephew were totally engaged from start to finish. There are plenty of food stands throughout the property with the classic farm favorites. Apple cider donuts (my personal fav), popcorn, ice cream, and coffee stands for the grown-ups. Speaking of adults, a huge bonus is the vineyard right on the property. I treated myself to a glass of rosé to enjoy while the kids played, which was a nice addition. It does get busy, but the whole setup is well organized that it does not feel too crowded. Barnyard Adventure is one of those rare places that charms both kids and adults, making it a perfect fall or weekend family destination. You can bring in picnic food if you wish, but they had hot dogs and basics to purchase as well as a small farm stand in the front. Great for a conversation piece to bring up at any cocktail hour. We booked the oyster tour as part of a bachelorette party. We came prepared with sneakers and hat. Dave and Ben greeted us at the entrance as we drove in. It was our private and another couple. It was very informative tour as they discussed the species of oysters found in different parts and took us through the algae growing greenhouse and oyster spawning area and discussed how they select oysters. Then they took us to the waterfront where they showed the process of farming the oysters in "bags" or large metal baskets and then eventually sort them. Afterwards Ben shucked lots of oysters for us and paired it with different local wines and sauces for the oysters. Delicious! There was also non-alcoholic beverages available too. Everything was very picturesque and great for photos with the dock and the waterfront. Ben and Dave were so friendly and great at making the whole tour entertaining and educational and answered all our questions. We also left with a goody bag :) Thanks so much for an awesome time!

If you were able to get the bulbs you could take those home too, which is a nice perk since they are perennials and will come back year after year. Plenty of parking. Tickets are cash or card. They have some goodies to also purchase on your way out. Petting farm for the kiddos (I mean I squealed when I saw the cute pigs too). Live music. Food trucks. The main nursery is open, as well.
